It appears that the recent talks between Israel and the Palestinians in Jordan have been a virtual waste of time.

    http://www.rferl.org/content/Netanyahu_No_Preconditions_For_Direct_Peace_Talks/2093466.html

While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netayahu clearly insisted that there should be "no preconditions" related to resuming direct talks apparently he meant that only the Palestinians would be excluded from having any preconditions.

    http://news.yahoo.com/palestinians-israel-proposed-impossible-borders-095754615.html

Israel wants to hold onto the E Jerusalem that it's been illegally occupying since 1967 even though it is overwhelmingly occupied by Arabs. Israel wants to hold on to the West Bank and Golan Heights because it allowed Jewish settlers immigrate into these territories in violation of the Geneva Conventions and to which it has no claim. Israel wants to establish that settlers which moved onto land in violation of international laws and treaties have the same Rights as Palestinians that actually lived there.

In response, and from the same linked article above, the dishonesty of Netayahu becomes more apparent:

How about this Mr Prime Minister. Remove the preconditions you're imposing. Admit that Israel has no claims whatsoever to E Jerusalem, the West Bank or Golan Heights and then try talking to the Palestinian represenatives about possible territories that Israel might feel are necessary for security purposes.

The Palestinians are willing to discuss Israeli security but Israel in the "peace talks" didn't want to "discuss" Israeli security with the Palestinians at all but instead choose to impose preconditions that took the issue off the table completely.

Of note E Jerusalem has absolutely nothing to do with Israeli security nor do the Golan Heights. There isn't even a valid argument related to most of the West Bank as it relates to "Israeli Security" although Israel might be able to present an argument why a minimal amount of territory be granted to it.

Drop the "preconditions" Mr Prime Minister!!!

I don't understand how Netanyahu's transparent mendacity appears to Zionists and their supporters as completely acceptable. Are they blind, deaf or simply equally guilty?

I also find it hard to believe. Here is a perfect example of a "lie" and yet it's completely ignored by the pro-Israel zionists. Their position seems to always be that it's wrong for any Palestinian leader to lie but totally acceptable for a zionist to lie. It is the hypocracy of "zionism" that many rightfully condemn.

I don't think it does.. He's trying to hang on to power at any cost.

The Israelis should throw Bibi into the sea.. He is their worst enemy.

When you have a political system that has been hijacked by and is beholden to a virulent far right religious agenda then you lick their asses to stay in power.
