ZOA to Israel Gov’t: Stop Police and Muslim Wakf Discrimination Against Jews On Temple Mount

Israel’s Temple Mount (Har Habayit), not the Western Wall (Kotel), is Judaism’s holiest site. The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) believes that unfettered access and freedom to pray at a holy site is a basic, universally recognized right, which certainly should be accorded to Jews in the Jewish State of Israel. Safe and unimpeded access to holy sites also is guaranteed under Israeli law.

More Jews have wanted to visit the Temple Mount in recent years as, increasingly, rabbinic authorities are stating publicly that Jewish law does not prohibit this. To their dismay, when they do visit they are subject to blatant discrimination and humiliation by the Israeli police, who are cooperating with and hoping to appease the extremist Muslim Wakf authority on the Mount.

The ZOA has sent a letter to the appropriate government officials urging them to rectify this situation. The addressees include Knesset Interior Affairs and Environment Committee Chair MK Amnon Cohen and committee members; Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu; Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman; Minister of the Interior Eli Yishai; Minister of Internal Security Yitzchak Aharonovitch; Minister of Justice Yaakov Ne’eman; Minister of Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs Yuli Edelstein; and Minister of Religious Affairs Yakov Margi.

This is good news and a small step in the right direction. I hope that ZOA will become more vocal on the many other critical issues that are taking place, adding further pressure on Israel to change its direction.

Serious campaign for Jewish Rights on the Temple Mount is underway.

A high level historic meeting was held recently by 30 senior Temple Mount activists from every Temple Mount group and organization . The groups and organizations have decided to begin working as a cohesive unit to further the goals of Jewish rights on the Temple Mount.

The organizations include: Hatenua Lekinun HaMikdash-Movement for Temple Renewal; El Har Hashem – Temple Mount Advocacy Council ; Nashim Lman Har HaBayit-Women of the Mount; The Temple Mount Heritage Foundation; El Har HaMor

Several critical decisions were made, however the funds available are inadequate to the goals. A true implementation budget is lacking. Due to the sensitive nature of issues relating to Temple Mount activism, these decisions are for internal consumption at present. It is hoped that the projects will be launched within 2 months time.

We are calling upon all Jews and lovers of Israel and the Mount to donate whatever even small amount they can in order to help us succeed in this important mission. If thousands donate even 5-10 dollars, we will have enough fuel to run a successful campaign. We are looking at a minimum goal of 10,000 US dollars and every penny will be used for the projects.

What is extremist about unarmed muslims holding the dome?

Lets put it this way: if zionist can go sacraficing lambs on the mount, then anyone can go into any synagogue and play with the scroll.

    deal?

The Temple Mount is the holiest of all Jewish sites and it is only at this site that we may preform the Korban Pesach (Passover Offering).

We have never asked to destroy the dome of the rock, which by the way according to the Muslims themselves is the place where our Temple stood. What we are asking is to be allowed from a half hour after noon until 1 hour before sunset on the eve of Passover to allow Jews to build a temporary alter on the Temple Mount (not inside the dome of the rock), but in the open area in front of the dome, and allow us to preform our sacrifise in the only place that the bible allows us to do so.

This my friend for us is a major compromise, the Temple Mount is our holiest site and we are allowing another religion to maintain control. We are also demanding that we be allowed to pray while on the Mount every day, without getting arrested for doing so.

    I hope you can understand.

Kind sir, please tell this forum why and what the hopes are for? Tell all what it is that the belief is about and what you 'await'.

    Be honest.

You could be right. The following sentence sounds good. If ZOA believes this, then it needs to expand this concept into other areas, such as the illegal settlements:

The following is less clear. What exactly is meant with this?

It is my understanding that not all Israelis are Jews and that all Israelis should be treated equally, which is a "universally recognized right". It is thus my hope that the ZOA will further stress its "universally recognized right" argument to the point where it pressures Israel to abolish its apartheid in Palestine.

    Dear friend,

I am a Jew, not a Zionist. The Jewish Nation, also known in biblical times as the Children of Israel or Nation of Israel has existed for nearly 4,000 years. Since those early times we have always had a connection with Land of Israel.

Zionism has tried to create a "new Jew" that is heretical and anti God, we the Jewish People are only allowed to hold the Land of Israel if we follow Gods ways and laws that He set for us in his Torah . You do not have to worry, the way things are going the Zionist themselves will be responsible for the Jews being driven back into the exile.

Every time Israeli police arrest a Jew for praying on the Temple Mount for instance or prevents us from performing the passover sacrifice, they are committing blasphemy against God and endangering the Land of Israel.

It is written in the Bible:
Beware, lest your heart be misled, and you turn away and worship strange gods and prostrate yourselves before them. And the wrath of the Lord will be kindled against you, and He will close off the heavens, and there will be no rain, and the ground will not give its produce, and you will perish quickly from upon the good land that the Lord gives you. (Deuteronomy 11:16-17)

The Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria (West Bank) and the holy Temple Mount are not located in an "occupied territory."

    Why?

    1. The last binding international legal instrument which divided the territory in the region of Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza was the League of Nations Mandate, which explicitly recognized the right of Jewish settlement in all territory allocated to the Jewish national home in the context of the British Mandate. These rights under the British Mandate were preserved by the successor organization to the League of Nations, the United Nations, under Article 49 of the UN Charter.

    2. Until 1993 there was never in history a Palestinian State or autonomy of any kind. Meanwhile the Jews have reestablished sovereignty for the third time in their history. It is therefore natural for Jews to build homes and communities in these areas.

    3. The territory of the West Bank and Gaza Strip was captured by Israel in a defensive war, which is a legal means to acquire territory under international law. In fact, Israel's seizing the land in 1967 was the only legal acquisition of the territory this century: the Jordanian occupation of the West Bank from 1947 to 1967, by contrast, had been the result of an offensive war in 1948 and was never recognized by the international community, including the Arab states, with the exception of Great Britain and Pakistan.

JEWS HAVE ALWAYS HAD A CONNECTION:

    1. I would like to provide some examples of the Jewish-Israel connection: Hebron in which lies the tomb of the Jewish patriarchs and matriarchs, Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rivkah, Jacob and Leah; Bethlehem, and its tomb of our matriarch Rachel (second wife of Jacob); Schem (Nablus) which hosts the Tomb of our prophet Joseph; Shilo in which the remains of the Jewish Tabernacle are still visible; Jerusalem, where King David and Solomon reigned, where the first and second holy Jewish Temples were built and destroyed; Hashmonayim, the home of the courageous Maccabees; Massada and Betar, where holy martyrs fell resisting the Roman occupation.

    2. Even the names of Arab towns in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) are reminders of its Jewish past.
    HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES:
*A-Dura is biblical (and contemporary) Adora'yim, site of King Rehoboam's and a Maccabees' fortress.
*A-Ram is biblical Haramah, Prophet Samuel's birth and burial site.
*Anata is biblical (and contemporary) Anatot, the dwelling of the Prophet Jeremiah.
*Batir is biblical (and contemporary) Beitar, the headquarters of Bar Kochba, the leader of the Great Rebellion against the Roman Empire, which was crashed in 135CE.
*Beit-hur is the biblical (and contemporary) Beit Horon, site of Judah the Maccabee's victory over the Assyrians.
*Beitin is biblical (and contemporary) Bethel, a site of the Holy Ark and Prophet Samuel's court.
*Bethlehem is mentioned 44 times in the Bible and is the birth place of King David.
*Beit Jalla is biblical (and contemporary) Gilo, where Sennacherib set his camp, while besieging Jerusalem.
*El-Jib is biblical (and contemporary) Gibeon, Joshua's battleground known for "Sun, stop thou in Gibeon and the moon in the valley of Ayalon," Joshua 10:12.
*Hebron - named after Hevron, Moses' uncle and Levy's grandson — was King David's first capital for 7 years, the burial site of the 3 Jewish Patriarchs and 3 Jewish Matriarchs.
*Jaba' is the biblical (and contemporary Geva, site of Jonathan's (son of King Saul) victory over the Philistines.
*Jenin is the biblical (and contemporary) Ein Ganim, a Levite town within the tribe of Issachar.
*Mukhmas is biblical (and contemporary) Mikhmash, residence of Jonathan the Maccabee and site of King Saul's fortress.
*Seilun is biblical (and contemporary) Shilo, a site of Joshua's tabernacle and the Holy Ark and Samuel's youth.
*Tequa' is biblical (and contemporary) Teqoah, hometown of the Prophet Amos and currently known for its home grown Ginger.
    *Etc.

How does this concept fall under ZOA's argument of "universally recognized right", in relation to the people of the West Bank being denied Israeli citizenship and equal rights in Israel? Does ZOA's "universally recognized right" only apply to Jews, meaning that ZOA is heavily racist? Such could explain its refusal to oppose apartheid.

    Universally Recognized Human Rights
all human rights and fundamental freedoms are universal, indivisible, interdependent and interrelated and should be promoted and implemented in a fair and equitable manner, without prejudice to the implementation of each of those rights and freedoms,

According to the prophets of Israel, three events should take place before the coming of Messiah Ben David:

First, is the regathering of the twelve tribes of Israel from the four corners of the world to the Promised Land.

The second event is the rebirth of Israel as a nation and again as the kingdom of G‑d in the Land of Israel.

The third event is the rebuilding of the Temple on the Temple Mount in the same location as the first and second Temples.

The first two events have already come to pass in Israel during this exciting time of redemption. Now the third Temple should be immediately built, says the G‑d of Israel, with no delay and then the Messiah will come

or go with Isaiah 2:2 And it hath come to pass, In the latter end of the days, Established is the mount of Jehovah's house, Above the top of the mounts, And it hath been lifted up above the heights, And flowed unto it have all the nations.

3 And gone have many peoples and said, `Come, and we go up unto the mount of Jehovah, Unto the house of the God of Jacob, And He doth teach us of His ways, And we walk in His paths, For from Zion goeth forth a law, And a word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.

4And He hath judged between the nations, And hath given a decision to many peoples, And they have beat their swords to ploughshares, And their spears to pruning-hooks, Nation doth not lift up sword unto nation, Nor do they learn any more -- war.

5O house of Jacob, come, And we walk in the light of Jehovah.'

    but what cannot happen:

7 I have brought them unto My holy mountain, And caused them to rejoice in My house of prayer, Their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices [Are] for a pleasing thing on Mine altar, For My house, `A house of prayer,' Is called for all the peoples.

and the flag of ZOA..... means what?

and you write the name (sir name) of god......

    Yu are aware that:

5 I have given to them in My house, And within My walls a station and a name, Better than sons and than daughters, A name age-during I give to him That is not cut off.

6 And sons of the stranger, who are joined to Jehovah, To serve Him, and to love the name of Jehovah, To be to Him for servants, Every keeper of the sabbath from polluting it, And those keeping hold on My covenant.

What name is greater than even your child's life?

    no need too......

The settlements, the atrocities, the abuse............ the crossing of the jordan of 67' was all wrong

but what few comprehend is not that the security of israel was the importance. They wanted jeruselem (baiblu; gate of the gods) and now you can see the underlying intent, they have always wanted the (hill) dome, the place where isaac was taken to be sacraficed (tel megiddo)

that was what i cracked up on. The quest is the quest for the 'house of god' (zion). Tmount, claims he aint a zionist, but a jew, yet waiving the ZOA pursuit.

Zion is to be opened with 'the name' of god, not of men just wanting. it is why moses did not open shop, david, did not open shop and all tries left idea of what is-rael in failure.

And i am telling you ALL NOW............ step back.

This is why it is good to help the ZOA to realize that it's "universally recognized right" argument contradicts its actions for the last few decades, meaning that it must find the will and courage to stand up and move against what it has traditionally stood for. I think that such is possible. ZOA can change to abandon what is wrong in favor of what is right.

ie..... religion is not a reason for zionist to believe they have a right to the temple mount to sacrafice lambs on an alter.

it is not a reason for zionist to be in israel by force

the methods of force are a complete contradiction to anything 'religiously compassionate'

Yes and no. Personally, I believe that all humans should have access to any public religious structure, but most religious tend to disagree with me on that matter. Their argument is that their prayers are disturbed by the tourist industry.

Israel is, in a sense, kind of like Iran, Tibet, Saudi Arabia or Japan. It's a location that a specific religion views as being its base, its core. As such, Israel can technically be very Jewish like other religious locations, but you are right that such should not come at the cost of the people already living there. A religion which is unnecessarily harsh towards other religions tends to give itself a poor reputation.

Absolutely. The ZOA is heavily anti-Judaism, due to its actions in Palestine.

    they do have access.

just like you and i can go into notre dame or just about any religious site except the mormon temples in america.

can we force the morons to let us in there? NO

but the dome WILL NOT ALLOW pagen rituals within their buildings and i agree; no sacraficing lambs to 'god(s)' on a site that is held by another religious site.

otherwise, maybe we could have orgies in the synagogues of the USA each weekend and say are religious people that are honoring the procreation of life.

iran nor pakistan were religious states, until israel was born

actually due to its pursuit of 'zion' without having the 'name of god'

No one opens up that (final) 'house of knowledge' without 'the name'

it is why that 'messiah' (kalki, adi buddha, pahanna, etc....) is who they all await!

the true 'jews' know this. The zionist, have no clue!

I see tmount is back - again peddling his fairy tales.

    Where your evidence ?

Unfortunately , there are many extremists Jews who dont just want to pray on Temple Mount , but are set to destroy the existing non-Jewish buildings - and rebuild Herod's Temple.

    : Blah - blah .

Yes there are many things "Written in the bible " including some disgusting commands from a god to commit atrocities against non-Jews.

    2. snip - snip

For someone who claim not to be a Zionists - you apparently have no hesitation in using Zionist propaganda . Hmmm.

While some Jews ( observant Sephardim/Mizrahim) did , Secular /atheistic European Jews did NOT )

tmount - your post seem to be just a continuance of yr earlier pathetic attempts to defend Zionist displacement + dispossesion of non-Jewish Palestinan lands.

    You speak with forked tongue.

Bishadi - many years ago - pre-1967 as a lad - I visited Temple Mount - Al Aqsa Mosque - with my Uncle - who worked for the British Council. - No problems - I remember seeing many other non-Muslim tourists .

If any Jews were refused access , its coz their intention was to cause mischief .

the Children of Israel or Nation of Israel has existed for nearly 4,000 years. Since those early times we have always had a connection with Land of Israel.

So have many peoples who neither occupy it nor murder its inhabitants. Go away and let the native people live.

The ZOA is not concerned about what could happen if they tried to do rituals within the mosque.

it would be like muslims wiping a childs butt with the scroll-torah in a synagogue.
