The Hypocrisy of Republicans on Gas Prices

How can republicans possibly blame Obama when all they've done is obstruct ways to reduce oil consumption in America.

 

Absolutely. If you're not prepared to put all of your money into the Amazing Perpetual Motion Machine then you're a hypocrite if you object to...well...anything. And ignore the man behind the curtain who wants to raise energy costs.

 

Just another example of the our way or no way mentality that plagues our country.

I know it's really important for you to conjure up hypocrisy where there is none (I'm sure it gives you comfort when you view your own), but there is none there.

Those things are examples of Government meddling. They raise costs of living without providing tangible benefits. Socialist leftists have been pushing those things instead of passing policy which would maximize our own drilling and refining capability, while simultaneously working very hard to ensure high gas taxes and complicated EPA fuel regulations.

Fail, liberals. I sense fear that lefties believe it will bite them in the butt in November.

We've tried compromise during the Reagan and Bush I administrations. We tried it on immigration when Reagan was in office and on taxation and spending when Bush I was in office. The left pocketed our compromises and sandbagged us. We aren't interested in any more foolish compromises. We want to fight.

Anybody with an eye on the long term would see that the country that can develope cheap renewable energy will dictate the future and secure its independence and be head and shoulders above everybody else in production costs.

You refuse to see this because your masters have told you its all or nothing... no compromise. I can see why they feel that way... they get paid millions of dollars by the fossil fuel industry and get cushy jobs from them after politics. Now why is it that you feel that way when all you get is the big red white and blue shlong at the gas pump as a reward for your fealty?

 

I agree. Compromise screwed us again with Solyndra, and now the Volt.

The market will present a better source of energy when a better source of energy is developed. Not a moment before that. You and yours are inherently distrustful of free enterprise and private innovation, so you're trying to artificially create it by simply demanding it - while simultaneously crushing the market factors that would limit the upward pressure on the energy which does fulfill its purposes: oil.

I see morons espousing the need for green energy - and spending billions on it - without virtually any positive impact (and much of it negative, including forced ethanol, asinine windmills and stupid solar panels which don't work).
