US Servicemember Shoots Afghan Civilians

I don't understand how you guys can jump to these conclusions that he is just simply evil and methodically planned out these attacks. You don't know anything more about this man than what little about him is being reported in the news. This whole incident only happened last week and his identity was only released last night. He hasn't even been brought into the court system yet. Obviously some initial information about him may be skeptical. But you guys don't know anything more about him than the rest of us.

 

We know that he left his barracks in the middle of the night and went to a village and preceded to execute some children and women and then went to another village and did the same thing,then he burnt their bodies. One evil bastard if there ever was one and I bet if it was a member of the Taliban you would not be defending him at all.

 

What is known is that he armed himself, left his base and methodically killed a number of unarmed civilians. I think we can take this as fact since this is not disputed by the US military or the US government.

 

You are already stating things that I know. You haven't even heard this guy's side of the story or heard a full explanation of what others saw that night. I'm not saying there is a chance this guy is innocent. But you are all jumping to conclusions about him without getting all the facts.

 

Theres no jumping to conclusions, we are basing our comments on the known facts. As far as what others saw, the eye witnesses are supporting the known facts. Im not sure what you are disagreeing with.

 

Please do tell us.if this guy was a member of the Taliban that did these things would you be defending him? A simple yes or no.

 

What could this man possibly say to 'explain' his story.

Remember, that man killed children, under 6 years of age.

I know this forum there are many forum members who automatically defend the usa military but in this case, defending a child murderer makes them and american values seem worthless.

 

we do know he/they slaughtered women and children in their beds in 3 different locations 2 being 2km apart
that is pre meditated, not snapping
he/they then went back to them and poured petrol or whatever over them and tried to burn the evidence

then realising that he was seen and he couldn't get away with any of it so he handed himself in pleading madness

he knew he was going to be caught so he thought of the best way to handle it

who knows if there are others involved still sitting in the staff sargents canteen with machine guns strapped over their shoulders on the loose !

Afghans are saying that the 2 big US 'Gerry cans' they called them which weighed a lot could not be carried by one soldier for that distance especially 2km carrying 2 of them

 

The responses to this incident helped me confirm that nobody understands this culture.

These people put more weight on the book of islam then they do on women. Women are treated as somewhat subservant to men. Some even put a price on life as we have seen in the news. Life less valuable than paper bible. Get it?

This terrorist should of been handed over to Afghan authorities, he'll get off easier as a mentally unstable American.

We don't agree on much , but on this post we have an accord . The Afghan people whipped very soundly the USSR , and they're doing the same thing to the US . These people are hard as nails , and they don't quit .

It is worthy of note , however , that the 'stinger' anti-aircraft missiles supplied by the US brought a lot of Soviet helicopters down , so a little technology sure helps , it's hard to bring down a Hind , even with an Ak-47 .

AJ , one thing that puzzles me , where were their men folk at ? it was in the middle of the night , where were they ? they wasn't out planting poppys , or were they ? . Could it be their men saw one lone Marine and it scared them so bad they ALL up ran away and left their homes & families un-defended , and evidently , un-warned ?
