Yes there is. There will be a paradigm shift in about 6 years there. Mark my words. It's coming.

No! We lost people because the party lost it's way in the years between 1998 and 2004.That's why Bush barely won re-election and later lost the house and senate in 2006. We are returning to the conservatism that people know really works.
It amazes me that somebody that professes to believe in science can be so blinded by political pandering propaganda. Your religion is showing Raytri. It's called Socialism.

Collapse will be required before there is a paradigm shift.

Um... that was in 1962. This thread is about current events.

The last time Republicans were this conservative, Joe McCarthy, John Birchers and Jim Crow held sway.

You aren't returning to a pre-1998 conservativism. You're blowing way past it an atavistic past.

Want proof? The individual mandate was proposed by the Heritage Foundation and embraced by the GOP in 1994.

In 2012, you guys are calling it unconsitutional socialism.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Reagan himself would not pass the entrance requirement for today's GOP.

You have a big tent. Any party content to keep Charlie Rangel as an elder statesman has to be all encompassing. Well done.
Perhaps the Republicans can do likewise. I really wonder why they don't.

If you had checked out the link I provided, you would have seen that party affiliation isn't a determining factor here.

You guys seem determined to cling to this ridiculous narrative that the GOP has become "hard right." All they've become is more vocal. You silly, silver-spoon lefties are so used to getting your way with the right not fighting back that when the silent majority finally wakes up and starts asserting itself, you freak out and think it's some kind of sudden lurch to the hard right. All we've done is apply the brakes. If that jolt that you're feeling scares you, it only shows how fast you were traveling leftward.

You left out Tony the wiener waver. He's still a Democrat and a pervert. Aren't Sharpton and Jackson really Democrat politicians too?

You are correct. The collapse will come during this election cycle, so the democrats can use the "crisis". Problem is, this time they will not have a "jump judy" idiot like McCain runnig against them.

They were (*)(*)(*)(*)ing wrong. Period. Reagan did two very important things wrong. The Brady Bill and The amnesty act. Both of which passed after he was shot. IIRC Gee I wonder why.

I called the guy a deserter and you jumped to his defense with this:

But when you get right down to it what the GOP failed to do for this guy is to make him their candidate for mayor.

So he bailed out of the party just to advance his own career rather because of high-minded principles.

The title of the thread is "Another conservative leaves the GOP". The man is listed all over as an Independent NOT a Republican, so how can he leave the GOP?

That's the same link that failed to list an IMPEACHED PRESIDENT?

....but no mention of Biden? WTF? A blogger?

Guess we know where they're coming from and again proving my main point that the self applied 'centrist/moderate' label is mostly for self deluded liberals.

Guilt is a patently questionable motivation.

    Some conservative.

One cannot help but wonder if this man can discern an enemy absent direction from a superior officer, and whether he has abandoned that faculty because a hail of bullets isn't as scary as the idea that the enemy could be running the country.
