N.C. Teacher Tells Student He Could Be Arrested for Talking Badly About Obama

Couple of things...

One, the teacher is obviously retarded if he/she thinks you can go to jail for talking (*)(*)(*)(*) about the President...

Two, contrary to what the article said, students don't have unrestricted First Amendment rights in school...

There are things you can & can't say as a student...

Three, there is no logical reason for a debate of this kind to be going in a classroom setting between a teacher and student...

This is just a prome example of how much we've allowed politics to become divisive at all times...

Sad, really...

I haven't been out of school that long and never experienced such a thing, even with my share of bad teachers. I also teach at a junior college and never seen such a thing, either in my classroom or in other teachers' classrooms. I watched the video and was appalled. Nonetheless, I don't believe you when you claim that this is the norm.

We??? The teacher took it upon herself and made it a divisive atmosphere to the point of interjecting blatant lies by claiming that people got arrested for saying bad things about Bush. While I agree that there is a lot of divisiveness in today's political arena, the teacher was solely responsible for creating it her classroom and turning a debate into screaming match.

 

Of course the teacher is solely responsible for his/her actions, as the adult in the situation...

I used "we" as a generalized term...

I obviously didn't mean everybody...

 

Other than "fire", or threatening laguage, what can't be said? I really have never heard of a kid being restricted in their speech just cause they are in school. They aren't in the military where they signed a contract, what is the judicial presidents that restricts their speech?

 

Are you serious!?

What school have you been in that kids can say whatever they want?

 

And who it is that is doing it.

Now all of these students will be labeled as domestic terrorists because they are intelligent enough to see through obama's BS.

 

A bunch. Like I asked, what presidence states they are limited on their speach? Especially speech that is free of cursing or obscene language when talking about the POTUS?

 

What were the kids doing stupid?

 

I never saw it in highschool prior to 1978. College, 86-91, both the Econ and Law departments were extremely liberal. Conservatives were routinely belittled and insulted freely by professors in class, while the liberal students received praise when they expressed how much they agreed with the professors views.

 

Are you kidding?

How did an illiterate moron like her get to be a public teacher in the first place?

 

She joined the union.

 

Give her a one-way ticket to China, where public dissent towards the government is an arrestable offense.

She'll fit right in.

 

The thing is that kids aren't stupid.

They see right through this woman and are not only talking back to her but laughing at her also.

 

It makes you wonder how effective of a teacher she could be when the students show such disdain toward her.

She at the least should apologize to the kids and the school , If I had my way she would be fired

 

She does not seem to be very effective at all.

But as someone pointed out she'll probably keep her job and retire with a fat stipend at 55.

Public teachers are not in the business for the children but rather for themselves.

 

This crap makes me appreciate my education that much more. I was graduated high school in 04, and am currently attending a state university. My professor in my political science class was a liberal, but was EXTREMELY unbiased. It wasn't until AFTER I took his class, in talking to students and professors that I realized where he stood. He taught his class with dignity and respect, and would generate respectful conversations for both sides and play devils advocate for both sides. Great teacher. Wish everyone could be like that.

To accept anything under "The Blaze" banner as anything but lies, more lies and "God awful lies" demonstrates a severe disconnect with the reality in which we all live.

The good news, however, is, none of you have anything to worry about from the "thought police."

 

Possibly not.

They couldn't all be as bad as her.

And yet not all bad teachers have to be as obvious as she is either.

There are many ways to be incompetent.

If this woman is a teacher in good standing then I'm sure she's the only one we should be worried about.

 

It must have been a well orchastrated plot and acting to get this on tape by the blaze staff right? There are no people like this in the US.
