That's something I also don't understand. Why attacked the Normans Jews in Europe although they liked to attack Seljuks in Asia? Was it only a mistake because they did not know how Muslims looked like - or was it only a kind of warming up? Or was there any deeper reason? A short time before the Normans had conquered England and I heard nothing about that they were murdering Jews in England or France. The whole idea "crusade" seems to be nearly the same like the idea "jihad". The whole situations looks as if Christians had attacked Muslims by using the ideas of Muslims. "Deus lo vult" - strange - very strange - a sarcastic joke maybe. But why created this situation antisemitism? The Jews had nothing to do with djihads or crusades. On the other side: Jerusalem was the city of the temple of the Jews. ... Hmm ... no idea - this all makes indeed no sense at all ...

Early Christians were extremely ignorant, masses were illiterate, prayers /bible was in Latin , relied on priests to explain the bible, how and what they should do in their daily lives . They were told Jews were Christ killers, + worse than Turks/Moors - muslim heathens , hence the hatred + mass slaughter of Jews which culminated in the Holocaust - by one of Europes most "cultured./civilized" nations central europe's Germans, not forgetting earlier slaughters of Jews in Eastern Europe and Catholic Christian Spain.

The pope is not a CEO and CEOs are not responsible for everything their employees do. They are only responsible is you can show there was some particular wrongdoing or criminal negligence on their part. You haven't shown this with the pope; you've merely assumed it.

Where do you get this information? Another website? The Islamic conquests had already taken over half of Christendom plus all of Persia.

Remember, the Jews collaborated with the muslims to conquer Spain and they fought alongside the muslims against the Christians until Ferdinand & Isabella kicked both of them out of Spain.

Christians are to obey the laws of the land as long as it does not require him or her to violates God's laws.

    Romans 13:1-7 (NKJV)
1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.
2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.
4 For he is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.
5 Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience' sake.
6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God's ministers attending continually to this very thing.
7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

    Acts 5:29 (ASV)
29 But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey God rather than men.

So any Church that seeks to protect whomever in the Church that has violated the law of the land is sinning against God. Notice in the latter part of verse 1 that says governments/political authorities are put in place by God. This also proves the utter futility of thinking that you can put whomever you want in office.....it is God who pick whom He wants to govern for His divine purpose.

I know that if anyone(pastor or lay person) in the Church that I attend commits a crime or violates some just law, the Church or an individual is not going defend them......that person is going to have to suffer the consequences for doing what is wrong. We will pray for the individual that the person will repent, if he or she has not but that's it, we are not going to justify that person.

ItÂ’s interesting that in the Bible a man was put out of the Church for marrying his mother-in-law, but all the Catholic Church can muster is isolating the person from material things.

Did you know all churches have committed these same crimes as the Catholic Church. As has secular insitutions. In borstels, in orphanages, in church meeting, at Bible classes. All these people in various organisations that hold a position of authority have sometimes abused their position. The reason the Catholic Church is singled out is because it is a massive institution. It keeps records prosecutions are easier got. The reason you do not hear about other protestant churches is because they are so small as insignificant. Governmental institutions the stories do not seem as bad because it is a secular institution, not an institution of God. Paedeophiles are in the presbyterian church evangalical church, baptist, methodist, lutheran, ever other church. The only difference is the Catholic Church is a bigger target, and cases are more documented. However I do not attack these churches on the grounds of what individuals within these churches have done. Why not hate the Catholic Church for what it teaches not for what individuals have done. The reason why is because no 2 Protestant churches can agree with what they disagree with in the Catholic Church. For every doctrine a Protestant disagrees with there is another church willing to accept it and disagree with another aspect of the Church.

That's a very broad statement to make against Churches in which you know nothing about. The problem with the Catholic Church is that it hides and protects the ones that commit acts of sexual abuse, it does not put the individual out of the Church, and as a result the problem grows and become rampant. I know of no other denomination that does that.

Yes it is a broad statement because the problem is broad. Has people within the Church tried to cover up the crimes of some of the clergy?. The answer is yes absolutely, people within the Church have made that mistake. The same goes for government and other churches they have tried to hide and cover up these scandals why?. Because they wrongly thought they were protecting these institutions, which mean well. I find it hard to believe you know of no other denomianation that has covered up wrongs commited by it's members. Look into the Presbyterian church, the Anglican church, for I know they too have had these issues also. I believe any mainstream church has the same issues research it, and I'm sure you will have your eyes opened. This does not make it right, you are right the Catholic Church should have handled things better, however the teachings and the doctrines of the Church are perfect in every way.

Unless you provide something to show that all others besides the ones you list are just as bad as the Catholic Church you are only giving a bias opinion, not founded in facts. There are many none Catholic Churches that has never had a single sex scandal or any type of scandal for that matter.

Let me say it in this way: If an Englishman lets someone ran into the own knive, then the victim has to pay rent for the knive. If the victim rans 2 or 3 times into the knive again then s/he has to pay 4 to 9 times as much.

I cannot name 35000 Protestant churches that is the estimated amount of denominations there is. However give me the name of a large well known church that does not have any allegations of child sex abuse. Through a quick google of some mainstream Protestant religions I have discovered they have the same problem.

Well, I don't know if you would call these large Churches, but here are two Grace Communion International formally known as Worldwide Church of God and The Church of God Seventh Day. But I can guarantee you one thing, none of those two were ever part of the Roman Catholic Church.

I cannot comment on every obscure Protestant denomination. Also lets say these 2 little heard of churches have had no sexual abuse allegations made against them, maybe it is because they are so small. The abuse would be easier covered up, because there is no allegations does not mean it did not or does not happen. The more people you have in an institution the more likely you will have gross misconduct from people within. All forms of Christianity you know off today originate from the Catholic Church. There only ever was 1 Church to begin with all other churches seperated themselves and splintered and fragmented from that one Church.

Why do you assume that every Church that is not a Catholic institution is protestant? Both have membership around that world, and none of them every had a history in which they worshiped on Sunday, so they were never part of the Catholic Church.

Here's a little history on Sabbath keeping Christians who were never part of the Catholic Church, and were persecuted by the Catholic Church.

Every Christian faith originated in the Catholic Church. Before the great schism in the 9th century and the reformation there only ever was one Church. All forms of Christianity came from that Church they took the bits they liked and that fitted with their own theology and seperated themselves. They also took the Bible the Church had given us and altered it to suit themselves, and their theology.

A little history little being the appropiate word. Every scholar and every historian who is not part of the COG will tell you the same thing. There was only one Church in early Christianity, some Protestants churches claim to be that one church, others say all Christians are that Church. Can I ask you what Bible do you read?, and why?.

Of course there was one Church and if you study the Bible you would see that they were the first Jewish Christians, whom kept the Sabbath. And the Roman Catholic Church has never observed the Sabbath, but it condemned those who refused to come under banner, and persecuted Sabbath keeping Christians by calling them Judaizers. So can you provide any historical evidence that those they called Judaizers or even the COG was ever part of the Catholic Church?

As far as the Bible is concern, that two was written by Jewish Christians who observed the seventh day Sabbath.

Please - if you take a look at the organisation "church of god" then they changed meanwhile nearly everything what was the worst nonsense once - so the organisation "church of god" of today would be an enemy of the organisation "church of god" a short time after their foundation. Nevertheless 'snake-handling' for example is still today a completly unacceptable perversion for every Christian and not only for Catholics.
