No, just the intelligent ones, but you wouldn't know about that.

So the intelligent illiterate people? I imagine there are many, especially in more impoverished areas of the world, but those people(in sub-saharan Africa, India, rural China, etc) can't really vote for or support Romney in any significant way. If you are illiterate in the US though, either you have a serious learning disorder which inhibits an otherwise intelligent mind, or you probably aren't very bright.

That is what I meant by "their Gospel is more like Christianity, but their OM is more like Jewish people". I was trying to avoid hurting delicate sensibilities, but you go straight for the throat. LOL

Thats the way it is with the temple, non members can't enter, under any circumstance.

She may not have asked for help. It's been my experience that when asked for help the other members gladly offer it.
If I were to point to anything positive about the mormom church it's their internal welfare system, they take good care of their own. No one else you understand, but they do take good care of their own members.
(which is why mittens giving money to his church can NOT be called 'charity' giving.)

For the debate up above, no LDS will be excommunicated for not paying their tithes. However, to enjoy temple one must be up to date with tithing. All Churches require more sacrifices for obtaining higher levels in the hierarchy. Please don't think one must buy their way to Heaven. My grandma was faithful her whole life but never got into temple because she loved coffee. Obviously, temple wasn't as important. There isn't a Mormon anywhere who would have something bad to say about her, nor any who would deny me a place to rest or some food for the mentioning of her name and realization I was her grandson. And I'm not even on the roles. Mormons are also like Jewish people in they believe they are a race as well as a religion. Maybe not as pronounced, but anyone born to Mormons, but whom doesn't practice, knows to what I am referring. Family is everything, even beyond the Church. Maybe it isn't the same for everyone, but my family that is the case.

I don;t know why she would lie about it, maybe she just misunderstood, mis-remembers what she thinks she saw, I don't know.
What I do know is in all my many years of living with and around nothing but mormons I have never heard about nor seen anything like that.
I have heard some really strange and stupid things about that church but never anything like that.
Personally, I don't believe a word of it.

I don't guess you can be too alone....with the mentality of believing 18 spouses is completely normal and acceptable. You all probably think only "you people" are the chosen ones too....go figure. Your Presidential cult leader is a kook, a liar, a flip flopper, and a creep.

    Well stated!
They are a good but strange group. Hard to explain unless you've spent lots of time around them.
One thing I have noticed, the further from the mothership (Salt Lake City) you get the 'less' of everything they become.

I put Mormons in the same basket as Seventh Day Adventists, Scientologists and Moonies. Nothing but cults and loonies.

Well, how would they know it's your Sabbath Day? Maybe you should put a sign on your door....

Both of my neighbors (on each side of our house) are Mormons. Neither of them have ever tried to force their beliefs on either myself or my wife, and they are in general pretty good people. They have the same issues that every family faces regardless of religion, but that's just boiled down to human nature. We used to get frequented by their missionaries going door to door, which is to be expected when you live in such an area. However, I'm just frank with them, not rude just very frank, concerning my interests in their beliefs and having them disturb me. Needless to say, we don't get them coming to our door anymore even though we stay on friendly terms. In fact, we've even tagged along with our neighbors to their church a few times, including to see how the Mormons celebrate Halloween (quite an interesting experience), and the chuch members have never been anything other than accomodating.

If you are nice to them and just tell them "politely" exactly you don't appreciate being bothered, you'll probably find that you'll not only feel better about yourself for not screaming at them, but that their visits to your home will become less frequent over time.

Same way with the JWs around here. There's nothing wrong with common courtesy.

The thing is you don't KNOW for a fact that Z lied....you were not there, she was and to call someone a liar when you have no proof is pretty assy. There are over zealous people who are pushy and use intimidation to keep others in line w/the religions beliefs and many people are easily intimidated...... so, like I said - I give her the benefit of a doubt.....

Exactly. I won't waste my time or theirs by listening to their spiel - I just politely say 'No thanks. I have my religion' and slowly shut the door......

Oh....I see....special sect of the cult that thinks collecting spouses like spare change is acceptable. My apologies. So...will Romney denounce this section of the cult?

If a marriage is between multiple consenting adults, why would you have a problem with it? The same argument applies to gay marriage as well, unless you have a problem with gay marriage too.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and say you're just a hypocrite.

The Christian Bible encourages multiple wives and concubines. Do you not follow the Christian Bible?

Well then, by gosh, I think Mitt should embrace the Mormon cult's sense of morality, and openly advocate multiple marriages in his next stump speech.
