^This. I actually support a number of libertarian ideas but you get a few thousand people smashed together many of whom own property and you have to lay down some rules for how things are going to go.

Obviously there are some dumb government laws but all we seem to see on this forum is thread after thread of people posting ONE short news story that leaves out tons of details and then a thread full of people saying this person or that person should be burned at the stake. C'mon people. Any time I read a news story I accept the possibility I'm not getting the whole story.

Really folks if they let this woman slide what's next? If someone opens a titty bar two houses down and the city tries to shut them down get ready for an equal protection lawsuit. It's just that simple.

I thought this was about a woman being told she had to stop feeding children but I see it is not about the thread it is about winning some victory. It is not about helping the children it is about dick size.

 

Though I think the second part of your post is sarcasm, I agree completely with the first--zoning laws exist for a reason. Without zoning, your neighbor could tear down his house and put in a 7-11 right next door... open 24 hours... with a porn studio in the basement... and a open-air dance club in the parking lot.

There are numerous reasons we zone our communities... and most people like the fact that they know when they buy a house, their neighbor will not be able to open a hair salon next door.

Under genuine American Law, one is not allowed to be a nuisance to his neighbor, and a nuisance is determined by a jury of the accused's peers, not by a rigged jury or by a bunch of greedy Communist commissars.

If the officials want to be useful instead of just a stack of obstructions, obstacles, hinderances, frustrations and a multiplicity of hazards to human life, then they should help smooth over disputes among neighbors.

This is where we ask ourselves why the state doesn't support non-profit organizations like this one. If you think about it all there is a fine line between abiding by rules and regulations and abusing your power, yes there may have been more to this than meets the eye, but it sure seems like the people that shut her down don't have any reason to keep the area very enjoyable to be which in turn is going to risk their own jobs. Honestly helping her out would have been laif on the table first then you could of looked at the pros and cons, but nooooooo that's to compassionate for the government they have to have their input on everything and figure out a certain way to butt their way into things without asking then backing themselves up with regulations that weren't intentionally put in place for issues like this in the first place. Point is, we can all turn the other cheek to big things going on like crime, and the slow destruction of the communities like this, but the government doesn't always turn the other cheek when they see a positive idea come to life in front of their eyes and it breaks two or three rules. This needs to change in order to change this world we can't be pushed toward the negative side of life by the law that's when more problem arise.

In Communist USA you have to pay thousands of dollars to the zoning commissars for permission to breath, and if they say NO! they keep the money for themselves.

Well that is not the case some of us like our property values. Where I live (county at the end of the road next to a pond or three) we have rules and if you do not like them you cam move or face legal action.

Well, most people who live in communities value some quality of life. You have neighbors--and what you do effects them. It effects their quality of life. So, yes, we do have to give up a little freedom to insure domestic tranquility. Don't want to have to worry about having to bother the neighbors? Move to the country where you won't have any... hence no zoning laws.

Zoning laws have been around as long as cities have. If you are going to live in proximity to your fellow citizens you each need to acknowledge that what you do effects them. Do you really want Larry Flynt to open the next Hustler Club next to your local elementary school?
