Actually it's not my opinion but instead it's what is commonly accepted by historians.

    http://www.historyonthenet.com/WW2/causes.htm#Treaty_of_Versailles

I don't know of many that support Iran and certainly anyone that believes in the ideals of America wouldn't but we can certainly trace many of the problems in Iran today to the toppling of the democratic government in Iran in 1953.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_Iranian_coup_d'état

It was our abandonment of our own national ideals that were at the heart of the problem which has resulted in the current problems in Iran today. It is a matter of "cause and effect" and the United States, by consistantly violating our very own ideals for nefarious political purposes, lies at the heart of many of todays wars and conflicts.

Would we have an Israeli-Palestinian conflict today if the United States, as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, taken effective actions to implement UNSC Resolution 242 which was unanimously approved by the Security Council? Instead of enforcement of that Resolution the US has blocked enforcement of it.

Would we have a problem with Iran potentially producing a nuclear weapon in the future if the United States, as both a permanent member of the UN Security Council as well as a leading member of the NPT, take effective action by calling for sanctions against the rogue nuclear weapons nations of India, Pakistan and Israel similiar to the sanctions against N Korea?

What we see is political hypocracy in the international arena by the United States. Israel can have nuclear weapons but Iran cannot. Why aren't we standing firm and saying that no nation, except for the five authorized nuclear weapons nations under the NPT, can possess nuclear weapons? We should first and foremost be addressing the rogue nuclear weapon nations as they are the primary rationalization for nuclear proliferation.

Holocaust I - Nazi/Jews score aprox. 6 million from industrialized murder

Holocaust II - Jews/Sabra - score none -phalangists did all the killing in a revenge rampage
jews/Gaza - score 600 civilians in the midst of a war with leadership of those civilians

Well within the realm of appropriate statistical comparison 1:100,000.

Over the top rhetoric does not serve any cause and plain dumb comparisons dont help.

Why would it be bad for Iran to get a few nuclear weapons? Iran has a much better reason for wanting them than attacking Israel: it gives them more clout among their Muslim neighbors. A better reason for wanting them is that the USA has never invaded a nation that has a nuclear arsenal. If Iran and Iraq can be likened to a couple of disreputable guys standing on the street corner, I'd been as nervous as Iran if the cop on the beat walked up to the guy standing beside me and put several bullets into him.

Most people don't seem to realize that the "signature" of a nuclear bomb when it goes off is quite distinctive. There is no way Iran could give a nuclear weapon to terrorists and have deniability, never mind the idea that Iran would be stupid enough to give a WMD to an unstable third party in the first place. As long as Israel has the ability to deliver enough of its estimated 150 nuclear warheads on Israel in response to an attack, Iran will not consider attacking Israel with nukes.

In fact, having a small nuclear arsenal might even make Iran "grow up" a bit; especially in the rhetoric they use (lot of difference when it comes from someone with WMDs). The worst that will realistically happen is that Iran will gain more influence over the region (especially over fellow Shia) and richer Arab nations might try and obtain nuclear weapons as well.
Then we'd get to see whether our "allies" really pay any attention to us.

Jonsa .. EVERY US President has tried to negotiate a peace deal to be rewarded with a poke in the eye.. and its cost us more than 100 billion dollars.

Bibi calls Obama a "J Street Jew" and then has a screaming tantrum at the US Ambassador Shapiro..

Time for Israel to talk with their enemies.. and leave us out of it.

Your link doesn't state what you claim but that the Treaty of Varsailles was just one of five listed causes which were more complex than the invasion of Poland. Among the list is also the failure of appeasement which meant "giving in to someone provided their demands are seen as reasonable." In other words the failure to stand by the terms of the treaty.

Well here on this forum its mainly the antisemites which amounts to quite a few.

The toppling of the government in 1953 was almost sixty years ago a long time before most Iranians were even born and 26 years before the establishment of the present authoritarian regime. How exactly did it cause one authoritarian regime to be exchanged for a new one?

Yes, I'm sure there would still have been an Israeli Palestinian conflict.

History has shown that its pretty difficult to take effective actions. Your example of North Korea illustrates that and speaks against your assertion.

Its not a question of Israel can have but Iran can't but the risks such weapons pose in different hands. I suppose because it is recognised that standing firm comes at too big a price resulting in a negative balance.

Quite right Margot , I cant find s ingle instance when Israel's Jews INITIATED a Peace proposa. Every Peace talks was started either by Palestinians or by Third Parties i.e. like a US Presidents

btw what was the results of US Sen. George John Mitchell,'s patient efforts ? or must we wait 20-30 years , before we are allowed to know why he , like many others before him, failed. ?

Israel's Jews dont + never wanted to share the land + live in peace with Non-jews , all they've ever wanted was the LARGEST PORTION + ever increasing PIECE of Palestinian lands.

In a nutshell, their motivation is greed , pure + simple.

I gave him your number. Expect a call.

Must have been out of town when all that went down. do you have a source for your claims?

IMO its not greed that motivates them. It is a deadly cocktail of religion and nationalism. I do agree they have only been serious about peace once and that turned out rather tragically. Peace with BiBI and the boys - not in our lifetimes.
It should b noted however that peace with Hamas and the boys - not in our lifetimes either. Everyone else wants peace, but it seems some of the combatants on either side don't.

The lesson here is do not sign the NPT,and do what israel did - build up your stockpile in secret, and refuse to acknowledge it.

Israel seem to believe that is fine for them, so it must be fine for anyone.

You need to stop with the idiocy of creating straw arguments. I don't subscribe to either of your chimera. It's not going to work with me.

Islam is a religion/state. It has no physical boundaries. That is why it is still expanding. It wasn't fully understood until we lifted the veil. Now we will kill it like we are killing socialism.

I don't have to be careful how I answer a propagandist tool.
Pointing out the pedophilia of the founder of Islam is a way of poking the evil slugs that practice that religion in the eye.
I don't care how many examples of Jewish moils and pedophile priests you want to point out.
They didn't found the entire religion.
You can never wipe that stain away from it.

    Suck on that one Jack.
