It was taken out of context, Mitt Romney meant that 47% of Americans have become Wards of the State, because they are net-recipients of government Bennies.

He meant that its time for Republicans to encourage them to take personal responsibility, by reducing those welfare programs with deeper cuts.

It's wierd though ... everything Romney has done and anything that comes out of Romneys' mouth is always in some callous disregard of the situation and people, places and things ...

... even I thought the Seamus-on-the-roof debacle was overdone ...

That is not what Romney claimed.

Paul Giamatti and Ron Jeremy are Republicans? I have been called many things, but never a traitor for having a former porn star on my avatar.

    That is (*)(*)(*)(*)ing hysterical.

Maybe one day Romney will learn not to pull stats out of his anus, and he will not have to apologize for what he says.

when Republican trashed the economy, a side effect of that is less jobs and more people needing help, so did Obama spend money cleaning up the rights mess? the answer is yes.....

Obama Cares about everyone, even the least among us, he cares about the 47%, he also knows the 1% are not hurting and do not need addl tax cuts

    That is also hysterical.

Such a general sweeping comment that has no basis in reality.

Or maybe it does. Certainly you have some evidence that Obama voters all want more federal government in their lives. Whip it it for us all

Romney's "off the record" statements simply illustrate what anyone who has been paying attention to his statement and policies already know -- that he will be a president primarily of the 1%.

He's policies are to make the Bush tax cuts permanent, and cut income (but not FICA, of course) taxes another 20% on top of that, eliminate the estate tax so trust fund babies won't have to pay taxes on inheritance, and make $200,000 of investment taxes completely tax free. These huge tax giveaways to the 1% will be paid for by gutting the social programs that the poorer and middle classes rely on.

This guy is even worse than Steve Forbes.

How strange, 39,000,000 doesn't seem to add up to 47% of American's. Are you using a different math system than me?

I am quickly coming to the conclusion that Romney is a federal Sharon Angle. It was his election to lose, and he seems hellbent on losing it.

Now does that make Obama a better choice? because he is leading? Perhaps, perhaps not. But his campaign is one (*)(*)(*)(*) all better at playing politics that Romney's campaign.

Wow! Talk about pablum! If he cared about everyone he would not let Goldman Sachs off the hook for their behavior during the meltdown, he would close up loopholes so big you could drive a 747 through and GE would pay it's fair share, and he would not have f*cked up our economy to the point that everyone's worth has dropped approximately 37%
and the middle class is disappearing.

First of all, Mitt just managed to insult the few remaining independents out there. Nice work Mitt.

Secondly, Red states are where? Midwest. South. Farm country. Farmers who have taken subsidies for....generations. The fossil fuel industry - red states again - take billions. Republicans are legislating mandatory medical procedures. They want to deny birth control and ban abortion. Redefine rape and force a rape victim to have her rapist's baby. Don't look now but the morality police want to ban porn.

Who wants more government in our lives again?

    The majority of:

Socialists are going to vote for Obama.

Minorities (particularly black) are going to vote for Obama.

Perpetual welfare recipients are going to vote for Obama.

Irresponsible naïve teens and early twenties are going to vote for Obama.

Smug, arrogant New England and West Coast liberal are going to vote for Obama.

YOU are going to vote for Obama.

And there is ABSOLUTELY nothing that Obama or Romney could say or do that will change that.

47% do indeed feel their entitled to food stamps, there are some polls that illustrate this, Romney was right.

The point is, why aren't their voices being heard by their side, but only the opposing side? There is nothing wrong with a food stamp nation.

Don't forget women. Obama's got the ladies.

But Mitt's got old white men, get off my lawn types and don't forget the bigot vote.

The best presidential platform since Mondale's pledge to raise taxes.
