If god hates abortion, why make women get pregnant when they don't want to be?

And you are assuming that just because we come from a human embryo that every embryo will become a human - sadly not all Genetics is a game of chance and there are a lot that are born and naturally aborted that are so genetically deformed that they are incompatible with life

They can choose not to be mothers by not having sex. It's really is that simple.

I really don't understand that viewpoint. Why does anybody have a right to force others what to do, especially if it doesn't effect them. Do other people in your country have the right to change your way of life?
Isn't freedom that you can do whatever you wanna do if you do not effect other people? I think if men can make a law on what women can and cannot do with their vaginas, then women should make a law what we men can do and cannot do with our penises. Would be interesting what would be law. Maybe all men would have to get circumcised and shaved ... That's the way of democracy no?

If we can change laws for other people, then other people can change laws for us...

What is an embryo in the womb of a human being, then?

Lots of people have (*)(*)(*)(*) for parents. Doesn't mean they deserve to be killed.

So you say you know what it's like...do you wish to forfeit your life and all that is in it because your dad is "a piece of chit?"

Your euphemisms/semantics be (*)(*)(*)(*)ed. What is the products of conception? What is CONCEIVED. A human organism--AKA a human being. Killing it for simply existing is to violate natural human rights of that human being.

No it is not - I am using the correct medical terms. The product of conception is a fertilised egg - not a human being it then becomes a zygote

    Is this a "child"?

between conception and birth are important stage/s - implantation and growth

Interrupt either and you do not get a human being at the end of the process

Oh! and BTW a conceptus has no "human rights" as it does not have a birth certificate

A Cambodian doesn't have a birth certificate, does that mean they don't have human rights too?

. Wrong. The "products of conception" include the newly formed human organism (NOT a "fertilized egg" --either it's an egg, or its fertilized and becomes a new organism), but aalso the chorionic villi/placenta, umbilicus, endometrial material... It is euphemism, plain, simple, and disgusting.

. Yes. Child is a generic term for a young human being. The def. fits.

Never forget that the greatest abortionist of them all is God. Most fertilizations end in spontaneous abortion, most without the mother ever realizing her condition. Shame on God.

No it is correct terminology - the use of the term child is the incorrect term here

It does not have a birth certificate ergo it is not a "young human being". It is POTENTIALLY a human but it has not reached that status yet

That is patently ridiculous. When does a dog become a canine being? When it gets it's license?. So foolish. It's a human being at conception.

Well- your kidneys aren't human beings. But that isn't a clear parallel to this argument as your kidneys have a symbiotic relationship to their host. Tapeworms aren't human beings. Until a tapeworm can live without their host, they are parasites.

Don't get me wrong, I much prefer birth control over abortion (mostly because I have a say over birth control- I am male, in case you could not tell). However, the belief that a woman HAS to live with a child is on the same line of I HAVE to die from hepatitis, syphilis, HIV, or some other nonsense because I had sex with someone who had sex with another person.

It seems irrational to deny yourself success via available resources vice a life in poverty because you made a bad decision.

No. I like doing what I want with my penis. Women have a right to do what they want with their vaginae (no way a selfish point of view, totally coming to a mutually agreeable compromise with the double-x chromosomal individuals in our society).

Additionally, I find the comparison between abortion and circumcision to be offensive. Women having the right as adults to abort a fetus does not equal a right of an infant to not have their genitals be mutilated (except both are anti-religious, anti-right wing topics). Circumcision of a non-consenting or non-adult individual should be illegal. Genital mutilation of children is wrong.

How do you think is a woman able to abort her own baby? It needs a high tech civilisation to do so. And if I think about a high tech civilisation without taking care about human rights then I think about Borg - Borg are perfect slaves.

I don't think women can abort themselves. I just believe it's up to them if they want to do it or not. I don't understand why men get a word in this. It doesn't make much sense to me. If 60% of the women choose to have the right to abortion, I don't see why men have the right to change that. That's the only confusing part of it. I don't understand why on this matter congress gets to sit together and discuss that issue without ever consulting women. I remember that picture (which I'm now trying to find) of those people discussing abortion in congress. 90 people or so, not a single women among them. That doesn't make sense. Why can one group of people make laws for which only effect another group of people.

You were saying that we live in a high-tech civilisation, so don't people get to choose what they want to do. Having a baby or not is a big decision which usually changes the life for more people than the mother. They have a right to decide whether they wish to go that path or not. I don't think it's moral to force someone having a baby if they don't want to

As a potential father, you want no say in the ability to have or not have children? When its your underage daughter, you want no ability to be involved in the decision making process? The idea of a family is deplorable to you? A woman should have to bear all the responsibility for child bearing decisions ON HER OWN?

I think abortion is tough issue, its a decision that must be made from the intersection of two unalienable rights, the right to life and the right to freedom. And no two people are going to value those intersecting values exactly the same way. I for one would be horrified if my wife became pregnant and aborted it without telling me. I would view that as a fundamental violation of trust, not just in the hiding ... but for thinking that she could not ... for thinking that I would so badly misunderstand her that she could not even bring it up. Same for a daughter.

No offense M, but saying its all up to them woman is bit like saying the opposite, the raising them is just up the women too. And the world just doesn't work like that.

My point is that the government has no right to make a law about this. If you want a law then it's up to women because it effects them primarily. Whether they want to have children or not is up to the individual. So if she and her family decides to let her go abort the fetus, there shouldn't be a law restristing it.

What you're talking about is your control about your family. This doesn't give you the right to decide what some other family's rights are. This is the point! If it's law it effects all people, if it's not law, the individual has the right to decide.

I think everybody should have the right to decide by themselves.

Except the one who ends up dead. Aborted human beings don't get any say in their own demise.

They cannot speak, have no opinion about it and do not develop the characteristics of a person before the 3rd term.

what about the 70% of conceptions that end up never implanted or naturally aborted because the woman ate the wrong thing at the wrong moment or even just got upset at some stage This is why they are not human beings only potential human beings

There is no birth certificate and if a miscarriage occurs no death certificate until viability
