So 2 wrongs make a right? Because Bush did it, its ok for obama to do it?

I agree with you that the model for the obama white house is Bush. Despite campaigning agains them, obama has kept all the bush policies and revved them up on steroids.

Its the margin of victory that makes a mandate, not the absolute number of votes. If you want to see what a mandate looks like, take a look at Reagan. He won 49 states.

You do realize that you are going to insult a lot of Liberterians by calling them an "extemist version of democrats," right?

How does your stomach feel with all the bile you guys are manufacturing since the elections?

    I just love it! :-o

With the Republicans holding the House- no one is 'ramming' (a funny word for a bill passed by both Houses of Congress and signed by the President) any bills through.

The Republicans have been the party of "No" for the last two years. Its time for everyone to put their big boy pants on and get to work- and the immediate issue is the "Fiscal Cliff". If Republicans are seen as the party that obstructs any resolution to the "Fiscal cliff' there will be a backlash and it won't be pretty. (LOL).

The election shows that both sides should find a way to work together. Looking at the posts from the far right on this board, I don't now whether that will happen- considering that you apparently consider losing an election is being disenfranchised.

"Now would be a really opportune time to break down every barrier preventing third parties from having a fair shot at getting elected."

    Taxcutter says:
How do you propose to do that? Our system allows only one winner in each race.

Well, there's a lot of things we could do to fix it. Every state should be required to have every candidate from the top seven parties on their ballots: Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Green, Justice, Constitution, and Socialist.

The media should not be allowed to give any party or side more attention than any other. If they are going to air the Democratic and Republican primary debates, they should air the third party primary debates too. When they host the General Election debates, every nominee from each of the seven parties listed should be on that stage with equal air time.

No more winner-take-all EV's. proportional representation in Congress.

What's the critical difference that makes republicans and democrats legitimate? Their platforms and voting records are pretty close in every regard other than whether or not they're democrats or republicans.

This is the direct result of the Federal government usurping state rights over the years and now running the country.

With an approval national rating of only 13% for Congress, I can now understand how the Founders did not set up the sytem this way. The bigger and more centralized a system becomes the less representative it becomes. We might as well be ruled by the British crown.

I rather wish we could kick out the Dems and GOP and replace them with the Greens and Libertarians. Then you'd have an actual difference between the two, and an actually liberal party.

So? Why should making the system passable for non-primary parties require there to already be those parties?
