And you will be wrong TO be honest though I cannot understand why you would think late term abortions will become more prevalent They are currently most commonly done for foetal abnormality
Hi BB. Welcome back. We are talking about women's private parts again, and their own right to make choices about those private parts. Guess we don't have anything else to do. Nice to see you again.
Historically, in ancient Sparta, infanticide was practiced to glean out the infirm and abnormal. The Spartans could not afford to raise weakly or abnormal infants to adulthood. Their society required perfectly strong men and women devoted to the city-state. And I don't see anything wrong with that. When an infant is an infant it has no sense of presence or emotions like an adult. Good time to glean them.
And here we have it, pro-lifers don't really care about anything apart from getting what they want. A return to the good old days where woman knew their place, where workhouses were the norm and religion was the master. Dream on!!
All Roe v Wade did was federalize and took away another State right. It was decided on very very weak constitutional grounds. There were already States that had passed similar bills and many more were heading that way, kind of like the gay marriage thing now but people like things to happen quickly and they like the heavy hand of federal government tyranny.
Unlikely, given the rate for late-term abortions has been roughtly the same since the "pro-lifers" suddenly discovered them in the 90s. You've been wrong for 40 years (figuratively speaking)....no reason to expect you'll get clairvoyant now.
Partially right...."liberal" abortion laws were already springing up before Roe V. Wade. RONALD REAGAN signed one as Governor of California. However we had already seen what happens when individual rights are "voted on" on a state-by-state basis....with Jim Crow.
One of the reasons Roe v Wade got wide acceptance at that time was because it was understood that the term "abortion" meant abortion during the first trimester.
I have a feeling...can't back up with data...that there may have been some later-than-first trimester abortions before Roe....and people knew about it. BTW, you arguing that the public supported and still supports first trimester abortion? If so, you can't qualify as the typical "pro-life" blogger.
88% of abortions are performed within the first 12 weeks. After that, it is women who were unaware of their pregnancy, many of them teenagers, or medical complications. Which of those would you criminalize?
Contrary to popular myth in America late term abortions are overwhelmingly carried out for foetal abnormality incompatible with life
you claim was that aborted people are just a bunch of cells....which is true. however we all are just a bunch of cells. everyone of us. you cant compare a living developing human to a dead dandruff cell...
Get it right now. I stated that you were more than a bunch of cells. You've essentially replied that you think you're on a par with dandruff.
No doubt, but that is not what the media pushed at the time. Most people had no experience with abortion and many that did were done in the first trimester. The public's general acceptance at the time was mainly due to understanding (and many politicians talked about this very thing), and some believing that Roe v Wade ONLY applied to the first trimester. It hasn't been until relatively recently that abortion has been defended up until just before normal birth. BTW, what the public believed in general and what I believe may be two different things.
if you could actually read then you would know what i actually believe. not what you want to tell yourself i believe
Sounds like you've convinced yourself your argument is more involved that it really is. Fair enough. Put it this way, if we cloned you we wouldn't be able to replicate what you are. You're way more complicated than a 'bunch of cells'
Pretty sick that you're celebrating nearly half a century of the most despicable human rights violation in history.
Abortion is a women's human rights issue. Sexual and reproductive health are part of a womans overall health and, since people have a right to overall health, they should have a right to access abortion and contraception.
The idea that blacks were people was just an opinion too. Not surprisingly, it also was the Democrats who did not share this opinion.
