Congratulations to Rush on his success at being a hypocritical, drug using, paid political hack for all things GOP, and all things corporate, irrespective of their collectively blatant destruction of the country, for the purposes of private elitist portfolio enhancement. That better?

 

Can't say that I've ever heard Rush say something I agree with(but to be fair, I have not listened to him too awful much). However, whether you like him or not, it's hard to deny that he is a powerful communicator. That's a gift, because not everyone can get on the radio and get millions of people to listen to them, even if they were going to just say what people wanted to hear. He has a knack for what he does, so I wish he used it for more things that I agree with. But then, there are only a limited amount of issues I see having common ground with him on, those mostly being some economic ones and gun control. Luckily, he does manage to trip himself up quite a bit. If he figured out how to not put his foot in his mouth, he could be even more effective.

It's important to remember with all opinion show hosts that their job is not to accurately report the news, it's to entertain and sway opinion, which means they are allowed quite a few liberties when it comes to a truthful presentation of the issues.

Of the popular right-wing hosts, he's the most tolerable. Hannity and Beck have a tendency to invoke the gag reflex, and Michael Savage is...well...yeah.

 

Well, to his credit, he has not affronted me, personally.

If there are folks that still find his shtick captivating, why should I care?

The last time I heard about him, he had attacked some young Georgetown student, labeling her "a slut" and "a prostitute." Sponsors gave him a swift kick up his flabby arse for his depraved behaviour, and he broke down and begged forgiveness, as I recall. He has not come to my attention since, so I assume he's just spewing his standard old boilerplate to keep his listeners wee wee'd up.

He's really not someone I think about, so I have no cause to cavil about whatever odium he's peddling these days in order to pay alimony to all his wives. Whether they were all on birth control to avoid being impregnated by him or he is impotent as some gossips have said is certainly not of interest to me.

Hey, he provides entertainment to some otherwise wretched souls! Who would begrudge them that?

 

Okay, I found one more thing nice to say about Limbaugh.

On the eve of the election, when every rational analysis indicated Americans were about to re-elect their President, Limbaugh was still humouring his errant flock, affording them a few more hours of deluded bliss.

Rush-to-judgement was crushing his listeners worst fear - that a non-White would be re-elected to the Presidency by the American People. Instead, he was clearly fanning those faint and flickering soggy embers that the very White and wealthy true author of individually-mandated universal health coverage would emerge victorious. That he would thusly cast himself as a consummate fool in order to afford his flock a few additional hours of blissful ignorance bespeaks a noble self-sacrifice! Are they going to accept reality or the whimsical confection their bloviating Uncle Rush is eager to feed them?

As in so many matters when confronted with that choice, they'll go with their Limbaugh, by cracky!

Over the years, Limbaugh's Cure-A-Thon has been a boon for patients suffering from blood cancers as well as the LLS, raising an astonishing $34 million since he first began.

 

Well, Bush helps Africans now because of his over riding guilt about what he did on 9/11, so...doesn't negate the crimes of the criminal, but it probably DOES help alleviate the guilt I suppose.

What's more to his credit than his being a misogynist, he has not been seen as a disturbingly unattractive cross-dresser as of late.

 

The man is a brilliant propogandist that knows how to influence people to vote and take sides against their own interest. And when he gets in trouble the whole right wing says its just entertainment.....very smart.

 

Overriding guilt for what he did on 9/11? LMFAO! Bush has been praised for his immediate action over the 9/11 terrorist attack. Bush has given more $$ aid to AIDS inflicted nations then all presidents combined. And as Kot mentioned earlier---Rush has given and or raised millions for patients suffering from blood cancers. I can't think of a single liberal who gives to any of these worthy causes, unless of course they're stealing $$ from other rich people--wealth redistribution, or coercing government into spending money on their particular state pork projects etc before some if any $$ gets distributed to these causes.

 

But as you see, Liberals are not so much following the ideology of Liberalism, they are simply expressing the worst in human nature which is the opposite of Conservatism so naturally, they reject that which is good, naturally through Bigotry they run to the opposite of that good and corrupt. Their ignorance and lack of understanding does not allow them to see past their own bigotry, we see this in all peoples of all races, political parties, etc.. It was the Bigots, the Liberals who own slaves, its the Liberals, the Democrats that fought against freeing slaves, because that is their human nature. The demonize the Christians because the Christians love all people and they do not, this thread is full of many examples.

The human nature displayed here is no different than the human nature that hung slaves, the human nature displayed here is no different than the Germans who fully supported the Nazis, no different than the human nature that raped Nanking.

Let this evolve and they will hang the Christians. Not that history repeats itself, Human Nature repeats itself.

We will need the Second Amendment to the Constitution to protect ourselves from the human nature of Liberal/Democrats.
