We will have to disagree there, I do belive they were chosen to bring jesus in to the world, ive read nothing in the bible(non scofield) that would lead me to belive they are worth more to god then other people after that.

 

I have not seen any Mary worship from either of them. That seems to be a common misconception by protestants.

 

I wouldn't say they're worth any more to God, but many prophecies in Nehemiah and Revelations flat-out say the Jews still have a role to play in future events.

I dunno; the praying to Mary, the legend of her assumption, it's a bit dodgy to me. It's one of the very few things about Catholic dogma I mislike. Let's re-phrase: Does the EO honor Mary to the same extent that the RCC does?

 

Ive never seen praying to Mary either. Talking to yes, praying no. I dont know about orthodox, I would assume they feel the same way about Mary.

 

It seems almost laughable to consider that the UN would be, COULD be openly and actively against any member nation. But, when you know the country being singled out for this kind of treatment is Israel, you sorta figure, "it figures!"

Just a brief post to say that having had a post deleted for flamebait on this thread I have decided to leave the forum. If expressing extremist views is not considered designed or intended to elicit emotionally charged responses then neither should referring to them. I cannot participate on a forum which offers protection to those holding immoral viewpoints and which has resulted in this site being a sanctuary and breeding ground for extremist hate.

I hope the few reasonable posters following my posts will understand my decision.

With regard to this latest embassy attack, the previous one having killed the US ambassador to Libya, I can only guess that the cost of reviewing and strengthening the security of embassies around the world will run into billions of dollars. Then there will be billions more spent on surveillance and preemption operations, including extra-judicial assassinations, most of which will only serve to antagonise more countries and recruit more attackers. There really has to be a better way.

Islam forbids killing innocent people. Strike two.
Islam forbids killing women, children, and the elderly. Strike three.

Islam permits war in self defence. With those 3 preconditions included. Also included, the response of self-defense mustn't exceed the severity of the act of aggression. And once the aggressors desist, Muslims must also desist.

Every Muslim is involved in Jihad throughout their life.

It also opposes what it calls US imperialism and has several times targeted US military personnel and diplomatic missions.
