    I should think you're aware that they were doing it to antagonise the Hispanic kids, suggesting that they aren't American or some such.

    Keep your politics out of sports. Simple, innit?

    And shouting at a bunch of Hispanic kids is their way of trying solve that problem? Counter-productive. I think the principal's approach was a lot smarter, not to mention more mature.

    They would be confused then as Chavez has spoken out against the phrase La Raza as being racist, dangerous, a sign of insecurity.

    I wasn't asked that. I was asked to comment about a quote stating "why are they (Hispanic kids) offended?" I stated we had no evidence as yet that they were offended at all. Sorry, but I'm not going to follow you down your non-sequiter rabbit hole.

    The whole idea of chanting "USA!!!..USA!!!...USA!!! strikes me as a mindless conceit more than anything. The only time I remember it having any relevance was in 1980, when the US hockey team beat the USSR team.

    Exactly, and even outside of schools, being publicly disruptive and trying to incite violence or what have you will also get a person into some trouble.

    They had no business bringing some political nonsense to a basketball game.

    Things aren't very good here in California between young whites and young mexicans. The former are moving down the economic food chain and the latter are moving up said food chain. Friction is what happens when two groups with nothing in common are juxtaposed together.

    did anyone else notice that they were standing on the playing floor showing their fool? I wonder what other events were supposed to be taking place on the floor at the time that these young machos thought not worth seeing and hearing.

    Why didn't the Hispanics join in the chanting, weren't they too Americans or were they illegal aliens? If they were illegal aliens what were they doing playing sports in an American school?

    I didn't realize teenage provocations and antics were now on par with patriotism. It's garbage like this that gives true patriotism a bad image.

    Neither the white kids nor the mexican kids are well educated. Most of them don't have a future except in low paying part time jobs without benefits. That means the white kids and mexican kids are in a zero sum struggle.
