You said you were against censoring what adults can watch.

    Are you?

    Or are you not?

Math problems? The number of web searches determines the volume of content of any topic how, exactly?

Nothing like Leftninny Sociology majors trying to Play Math....

The Icelanders have NUMEROUS studies detailing the DAMAGE exposure to porn does to children, and are trying to take proactive steps to stop it.

If you don't like it,STAY TF OUT OF ICELAND, just like people who don't want to step in dog crap all over the sidewalks, or be slobbered on by AIDS/Hoookers, stay TF OUT OF AMSTERDAM.

Easy. Live and let live, and Iceland doesn't have to allow porn, just because of your cravings. Deal with it.

    Maybe this will help:

It seems that when pron is brought up, someone always brings up child porn. I think people who think of child porn are sickos.

I do not have the right to watch child porn because the children cannot give their legal consent for their bodies to be photographed, video taped, etc in a sexually explicit manor. It is illegal and should be so.

However, on adult porn where the 'actors' can give their legal consent, I absolutely have the right to watch it.

Create a new user on your tablet please.

So you support censorship of certain material for children... that is all I am suggesting. Age verification.

I don't have a tablet. If that is the case, there are tablets for children.

It's not just the Surface, either. Any Windows tablet allows different users to have their own accounts. The latest version of Android, such as on the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, also offers this. Even Amazon's Kindle Fire HD has a form of multiuser support.

It does not such thing, but with your well known inability to critically assess data, how would you ever know?
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nearly 40 Percent of the Internet Is Porn

In the first quarter of 2010, 37 percent of all the content hosted on the Internet was of a pornographic nature.

That number comes from Optenet, a global IT security company that boasts a "complex network of global intelligence, which permits efficient classification of all material on the Internet."

After porn, the next four content types are shopping (9 percent), travel (5.7), computing (4.2) and sports (4.2).

You get that? Porn= nearly 40% of the Net; next closest, "shopping"= 9%.

    Get the picture yet?

Yes, it's the same old story...that familiar, sinking feeling is your ass getting handed to you again.....I think you love the public pimp slappings...seriously. :boxing:

Oh wait...its' probably "pornographic" to you...isn't it? Poor , sick little puppy...:giggle:

    They are all limited accounts.

You are missing my point. With the bevy of publicly available web capable things... trying to button them all down is like trying to keep water off your feet in a stream with a broom.

Typical of a RWer, over exaggerate everything to use as a scare tactic. Get the picture yet?

    .
"....Alarm over the harmful effects of internet sex were raised in Iceland in 2010 when the Government launched a wide-ranging consultation process on how rape cases are handles in the justice system.

The investigation was followed by a further consultation on porn, which included teachers, law enforcers and organisations working with abused children.

It concluded that the extremely violent nature of the material now freely available on the web was increasing the intensity of sex attacks.

It also found that children exposed to violent pornography at an early age were showing the similar signs of trauma as youngsters who had been actually abused.

These included becoming increasingly isolated and playing out what they had seen on the internet on younger family members or other children.

Mr Jónasson of the country’s Left Green Movement says the safety of children must be ‘a priority’.

He says filtering out porn is not a question of censorship, adding: ‘We have to be able to discuss a ban on violent pornography, which we all agree has a very harmful effects on young people and can have a clear link to incidences of violent crime.’

Halla Gunnarsdóttir, political adviser to the Interior Minister, said the agreement among education experts, law enforcers and other bodies that action must be taken means she is optimistic the proposals will become law, despite a general election in April.

She says: ‘There is a strong consensus building in Iceland.

‘We have so many experts from educationalists to the police and those who work with children behind this, that this has become much broader than party politics...."

40% of the net, when the next largest block of material is 9%, is ABSOLUTELY "MOSTLY".

Learn ratios and proportional relationships, as well as linear thought/logical deduction.

Typical Leftninny, absolutely BEREFT of any actual mathematical understanding..

They probably missed all of that in Homosexual History 101....

    Or Pornographic Expression 201....

I see the RW fuzzy math is back. 40% is 4 out of 10, which is not mostly. Give it up MR Nanny State Censorship man.

The complete lack of Leftninny mathematical understanding never left.

When the next highest quantity is 9%, 40% absolutely is "mostly". Everything else is far less.

    Mostly
Mostly Most"ly, adv. For the greatest part; for the most part; chiefly; in the main.

Your confusion is amusing, and always there. Choice.

Uh..WRONG, as usual. 50%+ is a "MAJORITY" mathematically speaking. MOSTLY is more than any others,as the definition clearly explains.

Well..."clearly" to the more sentient among us, anyway.

Once needn't have a majority, to have the MOST....duh, but how could you know that?

As always, you expose the abject failures of the liberal arts curriculum....

How Much of the Internet Is Porn? Less than You’d Expect

4% of the most visited web sites, is porn sites. And this is 1 MILLION web sites.

Let me repeat this for you: Out of the 1 million most visited web sites, only 42,337 out of the of the top 1 MILLION most visited web sites were porn.

Your 40% figure is pure boloney and so is your assertion that the internet is mostly porn.

ok i have no real view on this if they choose to do so its up to them but the shear logistics involved in finding a way that is even close to capable of blocking all the porn sites and pictures on the web is staggering let alone that there will ALWAYS be a way around a filter or ip etc.. if one is dedicated enough to finding it. its like trying to take all the water out of a lake one bucket at a time even if your at it all day eventually its going to rain and your going to be right back were you started. i mean i would live to see what method they implement to do this

If your children are searching for porn and trying to side step your measures to find it then you've already failed in your attempt to "protect" them.

What does child porn have to do with banning porn overall?

There is a line and at some point peoples fear allows those in power to cross it and its almost always done with the best intentions.

Sorry, but I'll go with the study completed by NET PATTERN EXPERTS, as opposed to the "neuro scientist": and his buddy you pretend have a CLUE.
Your "experts":That surprising figure—am I the only person who expected it to be much higher?—comes from neuroscientist Ogi Ogas who, along with his partner Sai Gaddam

Again if your children are not only searching for porn but purposefully evading whatever you put in place to prevent it than your problems are bigger than a government ban.

There will always be new challenges for parents of each new generation and if they can't raise their kids without the governments help then we're doomed.

    LOL

So you don't know the difference between amount of content and most visited?

In fact the statistics show that despite the high level of content people are not viewing it as much as people think.
