Than it doesn't matter. What matters is what happened. If it can't prove guilt or innocence it is of no consequence really.

Again, the profile is more important than the actual knowledge of knowing everybody's name and face.

Sounds like your saying Zimmy profiled Trayvon. That’s exactly what the defense doesn’t want you to believe

I agree about the "no poor judgment", but you should vote anyway.

Only because of political correctness nazis. Profiling saves lives. Works like a charm in Iraq. Works for me here in the states too.

Hey no doubt you have a point, thing is much of these things will cancel one another out. The prosecutor will say one thing, they will say another know what I mean? I could be wrong but I and I am sure you as well have seen this before. That's when the jury just starts looking at the basics, who attacked who, that's what it is about, not if he had the streets confused and such.
They are deciding did Zummerman have justification for shooting this man during a scuffle, not if either one of them are Boy scouts. If that jury believes Travon attacked him first then Zimmerman walks, no matter what you may think of the guy or how you may discredit him. If the prosecutor can show enough evidence they are in doubt of this than Zimmerman will be found guilty of second degree.

This is why I discount much of this stuff, they cant convict him if he was attacked first, they cant. It's about the fight, not much else in my opinion.

I think that line is wrong. The prosecution must prove that Zimmerman attacked first. if there is a reasoable suspicion that Martin attacked first then the Judge will direct them to Aquit. Doubt must lead to aquittal. There must be certainty beyond reasonable doubt for a conviction, the jury will be left under no uncertainty by the Judge.

Charging Murder2 instead of manslaughter was incredibly stupid of the prosecution.

No, it doesn't. You don't understand the basics of assault. Zimmerman's following of Martin can be construed as an assault, particularly if he verbally confronted him. It doesn't have to be physical, in fact, under "Stand Your Ground" laws, the mere perception of a threat is considered justification to use lethal force.

Under Florida law... following TM can be construed as an assault. Making someone fearful for their life or safety is assault.

Please show me exactly where Florida law says following someone is assault. Print the wording of the statute for us.

You are confusing assault with battery...

So if assault doesn’t involve beating someone up, what does it mean?

The state of Florida defines assault as “an intentional threat by word or act that seeks to physically harm another, coupled with an apparent ability to do so, which creates a well-founded fear in such other person that such violence is imminent.”

Obviously Trayvon was fearful of the stranger... he ran away and hid.

As you yousrelf stated " an intentional threat by word or act that seeks to physically harm another," and just by follwoing someone there was no intentional threat by word or act that seeks to physically harm another.

he didn't hide he walked towards Zimmerman and confronted him then attacked him. If he had ran away he would have reached his house and been safely inside before Zu=immerman finished his call.

    Obviously TM did hide..

But for George Zimmerman Trayvon would still be alive.

Could you explain why Trayvon Martin had the "duty" to " retreat," when he had the right to be there and he was doing NOTHING illegal or wrong?

But GZ had no "duty" to remain or return to his car, even after being advised to do so by the dispatcher, he also had plenty of time to reach his car either before or even after the end of the 911 call.

I’m glad this came up again, so let’s suppose for a minute that the gun never came out and the cops roll up on a fist fight, and Trayvon claims this creepy guy followed him down and grabs his hoody, so he punched the guy, and the fight was then broke up by the cops. Does Zimmy get charged with a crime if so what are the charges and what are the penalties? I’ve read on these forums that assault while in possession of a fire arm carries up to 25 years.

Good point! So, it seems that it is always "cheaper" in term of sentencing to shoot your adversary than it is to give him a bloody nose!

    Sick!

That would be aggravated assault because GZ was in possession of a firearm and because TM was a minor. The penalty is 25 years or more.. Same charge is George had assaulted a senior citizen.

Yea if the cops roll up on a fist fight its prison for sure, if the kid is dead Zimmy has a fifty, fifty shot at freedom. Hell of a scenario for a kid to be in

How is it obvious? Sinc there is no evidence at all?
If MArtin had not been an aggressive thug he would be alive now.

He didn't have a duty to retreat. All he had a duty to was NOT attack Zimmerman. he could have stood where he was and said nothing or stood where he was and asked Zimmerman why he was following him.
