I would agree then. I understand what the intentions of affirmative action are and I'm sympathetic, but it really should ultimately be a best person for the job type of deal.

Romans I 26-27
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

I would say that is pretty darn clear in Romans and the Church Fathers of the Eastern Orthodox Church (not just the Roman Church) agree that this pertains to the homosexual act as does Church tradition.

The fact that the Roman Church has had issues with some of its priests does not invalidate thousands of years of Church theological discourse.

As for gay marriage I support civil marriage between any two people (hell any number of people for all I care) But the Church should not be required to sanction, perform, or endorse religious same sex marriage.

People may not like how the Church has interprited the Scriptures but there is no reason not to believe that they are wrong. Lets face it the world has gotten alot more liberal since the writed of the New Testament and since the Church made its decision on these issues. But going back and trying to change the meanings of the scriptures to fit into todays social moors is not the correct route. One of the Churches main jobs is to protect as best it can the origional meanings of the scriptures. This is an immpossible task but one that will not be helped by changing things every time a new social concept becomes acceptable. It is the same as going back and rewriting history just because you do not like what your ancesters did.

And the Church will become increasingly irrelevant.

Or at least, the "Christianity" of hateful hypocrites will fade into obscurity, in due time.

That may be the case and in fact that is what many believe will happen no matter what. But that should not change the duties of the Church. If people do not like the way the Church does things then please feel free not to believe or attend. In the end I am sure it will all work itself out one way or the other.

The perception of those duties will change with time. And the more that some abuse their "calling", the more scrutiny will come from humanity overall.

I for one welcome all the scrutiny that the world wishes to extend too the Church. Nothing good can hide in the darkness and the Church should be as transparent as possible. If you are ashamed of something and do not want the world to know about it, then obviously it is wrong. While I abhore the actions of the Roman Catholic Church with their cover ups, I do believe that in the long run the past fifteen years will be very good for them. It will force them to clean their house and act in a more open and Christ like way. Some times people spend too much time in the clouds and need to have their faces rubbed into the dirt a little too remind them that Christ is the only perfect human to ever live and that they are not Christ.

I've seen this discussion on CNN and sent them my view of the situation. I told them to stop harassing people for not liking gays and create gay camps, to resolve this dispute and give people more freedom of choice with whom they want to have their kids around.

They probably ignored it just like they ignored the racist who made a similar suggestion that they make black camps, Asian camps, white camps and camps of every race so that "people have more freedom of choice with whom they want to have their kids around."

I have a hard time understanding what is wrong if you want to be around people you like, you have in common, feel comfortable, have cultural similarities, etc and why it's a violation of somebodies rights...
Rather violation of rights - is denial of such freedoms. So, this is my fight for freedom - let me be with whom I want to be and stop forcing me to be around someone I don't want to be.

If you really want to be around only certain kinds of people it is up to you to make your own little society/community that only allows certain people in it and who follow your rules. The Amish do this and then there is this guy.

Unless you do this you will be forced to live with the rest of the public and quite frankly it's not up to anyone else to make you happy. Only you have the responsibility of making yourself happy, so either move away to a place where you will be happier or suffer with the rest of us being forced to be around people we hate.

You know, that I can't create a Gay-Free society here, they are going to follow me with accusation that I am violating somebodies rights - "gay rights".
They can't tolerate that somebody doesn't like them. This is the way they are. Their hatered towards people who doesn't accept their way and find if offensive and inappropriate is astounding!!!

Well, you're going to have to find a way to live with it. Pissing and moaning on the internet isn't getting you anywhere, is it?

They are going to pick on you? Ho no, that is the worst.

Man I am so sick of this defeated mentality. Who cared if they are going to not like you and hurl accusations.

Think of all the things in this world we could get accomplished if we just didn't care what people thought.

There are people in this nation that have made a career out of being offended. think about Al sharpton. His thing is if you don't do what he wants, he and a bunch of bullies are going to come and call you a racist. Why is it that people bore down to this clown, what would he do if instead of acting like his words did damage you just said to him "so what?"

Good God you people to afraid of offending others make me sick to the very pit of my stomach. Do you think gay people give a crap if you are offended?

What would the founding fathers have done if someone said that what they were doing was offensive? And these people are so backward they think bending to pressure is fighting for freedom. Ever wonder what the problem with the United states is, its spineless cowards who can't even handle being called a racist our a homophobe by people they don't even like.

God you make me sick.

I don't care what you think of me and what I should do on your opinion. This is a political forum, where people are free to discuss and express themselves.
I told what I think is right, I stay there and not changing my views because you don't like them. Get sick, puke, send me to Guantanomo for not liking gays and my will to say away from you, etc.
This is my last post on this topic.

I honestly don't know why people have a problem with gay and straight boys being together on a camping trip. Until about 15 months ago, I lived, ate, played, slept, and showered with 600 other boys at a boarding school. With one exception, I have no idea who was gay and who was not, but I guess if one takes the popular estimates as a guide, somewhere between 30 and 60 of those boys were gay. I was never buggered in the showers, nor was anyone else that I know of.

As for people taking mental snapshots to wank to later, anyone who thinks that is common - knows little of normal male group protocol. You never, ever, look at another guy's junk in the showers or when you are changing - it is ill-mannered, and there is no reason to. Why would you embarrass your mates by doing that?

Sexuality, heterosexual or homosexual, is not about genitalia. A gay guy has the same junk that I, or any other straight guy has, so why would he want to look at someone else's. Of course the physical form is what initially attracts us to the opposite sex, but that can be, and usually is, viewed fully clothed and in non-intimate situations. It is no less attractive under those circumstances.

And even if the fanciful notion of some gay kid whacking off to the mental image of some other naked kid's arse is based upon fact (which I find highly unlikely,) what harm does the object of his desire suffer? Does a girl, the sight of whom has inflamed the passions of some spotty 14 year old, suffer from what he does about it in the privacy of his room?

It all strikes me as simply histrionic homophobia masquerading as protecting the sensibilities of those delicate flowers, otherwise known as pubescent youths. LOL, those who have lived most of their lives in the company of said PY (as have I), know how much protection their sensibilities (such as they are) require. :D

And in closing, given the state of homophobia in society, what gay kid is going to risk the consequences of any sexual initiative with another boy in so public a venue as a Boy Scout Camp. So of course gay kids should be allowed to partake in any healthy activities in which other kids indulge. I find the concept that they should be excluded for something over which they have no control - more than somewhat offensive.

I agree with you on many of these points.

I would like to add that those of you who are anti gay need to realize, even if boys are taking those mental shots (which if those 'shots' are taken they will happen with and without clothes on) and using them in privacy what is the difference? How is that wrong compared to straight men doing the exact same thing?
