    From the link:

What "dealers" would we be referring to if pot is legal? Recreational drugs such as alcohol and tobacco usually have some restrictions on sales to minors; so, from that perspective, "dealers" only exist in the black market of Prohibition.

As compared to other drugs or in a vacuum of special pleading? Can we get statistics for other (legal) drugs as well and compare them to marijuana?

Shouldn't this hold true for marijuana users regarding alcohol and tobacco as well?

Seems like more of discipline issue with peer pressure being a potential factor; how many kids who smoke pot have peers who "pressure" them into practicing yoga while high on pot?

Rats who administred the THC took more of the heroin than the rats that didn't ingest any THC at all. Doesn't that show that smoking marijuana may predispose somebody's brain to the usages of heroin? Also.

Those studies has showed that the brain may "remember" previous usage and subsequently crave a bigger fix of some hardcore drugs.

I believe "predispose" may not be completely accurate without further studies; the study suggests that "tolerance" may be a factor in a vacuum of special pleading regarding other drugs that are already available.

Here's some good analogies for you, which totally proves this gateway drug theory. When I first started getting interesting in listening to some heavy metal music, I honestly did not really care any single bits about listening to some music that these bands such as Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Pillar, Skillet, Breaking Benjammin. But when I first started listening to Iron Maiden, eventually I was way more psychologically inclined as well as curious into listening to some other sorts of rock music.

That same analogy proves how marijuana may be some sort of gateway drug. Somebody that starts to smoke marijuana may become way more psychologically inclined and curious into experimenting with some other sorts of drugs to get high with, just like somebody that starts out listening to one sorts of rock bands may become more curious about finding some other bands to listen to.

The problem lies in that for some people, listening to classical music may be a "gateway" to listening to other music. It depends on the individuals involved; and, since it can be that, individual, there is a greater risk of denying and disparaging the privileges and immunities of the citizens in the several States, which would be repugnant to Article 4, Section 2 and an indulging of the moral turpitude of bearing false witness to our own laws, even with only a drug test but no morals test.

Well, what exactly is a moral test?

It could be a simple test to determine if someone would rather practice the abomination of hypocrisy and worship Lord Satan in that manner and endorse His reign on Earth in that fashion.

Who (*)(*)(*)(*)ing cares? Why do you think you have the moral authority to tell others they cannot harm themselves as they see fit?

Why do Prohibitionists prefer to indulge the moral turpitude of bearing false witness to our own laws, with a McCarthy era phrase in our pledge?

Harry J. Anslinger made lots of money during those days of the prohibition of alcohol. He ran some smear campaigns against marijuana because it would provide him with some new jobs. Once alcohol as legalised, he needed to make marijuana illegal so that he could have some careers. That Dupont company and that guy William Randolph Hearst had absolutely nothing to do with those specific reasons that Harry J. Anslinger had for making marijuana illegal.

    That's all lies.

Smoking marijuana does cause cancers. You seriously think people that inhale smoke into their bodies over long periods of time won't get cancer? Smoke contains carcinogens in it, which is exactly why tobacco smokers get all sorts of cancers.

Even moderate alcohol consumption causes cancers, but it probably doesn't cause as much cancers as smoking marijuana does.

    And also this.

What makes you think that regulating alcohol and tobacco stops underaged kids that want to get those substances, from getting them? Kids will still find some other ways of getting those two substances. Checking their ID doesn't stop them. This is the same exact situation with legalised marijuana in Colorado and Washington.

    - - - Updated - - -

Because marijuana should stay illegal so that less underaged kids will smoke marijuana.

As things stand, it's easier for kids to get weed than alcohol. You clearly have no actual understanding of the dynamics at work here, you're just a propaganda parrot.

How exactly does regulating weed stop kids from getting it? Kids that want to get alcohol will usually just get it from their older friends. Stores checking their ID doesn't actually stop them from getting alcohol if they want to get alcohol.

Are you really that daft? People who sell weed go to school and sell to their classmates. When legal business takes over the distribution of it, that will no longer be the case.

Yes, but I honestly don't see how regulation stops kids from getting certain substances. If an underaged kid wants alcohol, he simply goes to an older friend to get it. Checking ID for alcohol actually doesn't stop kids from getting alcohol, so why should this be any different with marijuana?

When marijuana becomes legalised, more people will do it (due to marijuana becoming less taboo and way more available), and older friends would offer it to their underaged friends, who wouldn't do so if it was legalised.

High school kids themselves say that it is easier to get than alcohol. Considering it has been illegal for a long time it's illegality really isn't having your desired affect.

What? Sweet Mary J is linked to crimes like MURDER, RAPE, and other insidious events????? Not possible, those morons that believe legalize is a 'positive' option keep telling us weed-heads are lazy and hungry, not blood thirsty killers... No way there is evidence to dispute their concepts, it must be a conspiracy... :)

Yes, it's a very available and widely used substance, which is somewhat socially acceptable.

But here's my two questions for you.

Do you have some statistics which shows that more kids smoke marijuana than drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes?

Also, some other drugs, such as ecstasy, cocaine, heroin, LSD, PCP, which aren't really that widely available and used (unlike with marijuana, which is very widely available and popular and used), then you can't really use this argument to justify legalizing those other drugs. Am I right or wrong? Way more kids use alcohol and tobacco than use harder drugs. Legalizing harder drugs would simply make those substances way more available than they already are. Keep harder drugs illegal to protect the kids.

Hmmm. A study prepared by a group responsible for unjustly incarcerating those who use marijuana.

    How intriguing.

First off, I won't lie, I have smoked weed, and never really understood it... I thought it sucked compared to a bottle of whiskey...

To move on, I'm certain every American has broken tons of laws, but being caught sucks... :) There is no way to live a crimeless life with all the laws on the books now! Eh, when you face it, just man up or woman down, and do it, anything less will destroy you, if you are weak and can't overcome their oppressive ideals... :)

Right? Maybe someone should ask all the cops who got behind legalization here why they did it if it made violent criminals. The bottom line is that the world didn't fall apart in Colorado when they made it legal for medical use nor when the decriminalized simple possession and it will not fall apart now.

You seem to be very biased. If somebody is high on drugs, their judgement is impaired, which means that they are less inhibited to commit crimes. Why don't you accept the fact that almost 40% of all violent crimes in Colorado were caused by stoned people?

Legalizing marijuana would cause an increase in crime, which would result in an increase of the prison populations.

How do you know they were stoned at the time? Oh yeah you don't.
