For some time now, I've been casting about for a proper analogy for what Obama has been for the country. Yeah, yeah, Godwin's Law, but you have to admit about many of the Administration's Fascist activities in bypassing the legislature, using powers of government office for vengeance, ethnocentricity... So there are some undenial parallels there, but it really isn't an ideal fit. So my wife and I were discussing a neighbors tree that had died from the same blight that had killed all of our fruit trees. The neighborhood is now more vacant foreclosure rentals than owners. The state has announced looming bankruptcy from new unemployment claims. Both of us are in very poor health, and we never go out, or go camping, or spend on any but essentials. The "Blight" is everywhere, and in everything. As the Leadership is corrupted, so the Land and its people suffer. I think maybe the best analogy to Obama is not Hitler, but rather Mordred. A hate filled and twisted mother, who teaches the child to hate his country. A questionable and absent father. A drive to vengeance against those of people allied to the Land. A rise to totalitarian power which Blights the Land and the people suffer. A certain smug glee in the suffering. Now that we're five years into this disaster, it is apparent that Obama is certainly not the Messiah. Is Obama Mordred? If so, where is Aurthur and Lancelot? ( Who? ) Where is the Grail? ( Capitalism ? ) If you're still an Obama Fanboy, do you still see him as a Messiah? or who? -

Funny thing about both Good Leadership and Racial Hatred, on a national scale, one man at the top can make a huge difference for all. We call them Classics, whether it is Homer or Shakespeare, because the wisdom built into the stories hits true to our human experiences.
Funny thing about classics. They can lead you to many different places, based upon your own prejudices. America is not Arthurian Britan and Obama is neither Arthur or Mordred, just a good, bright man trying to lead a wounded country with a lot of problems, most of which were not of his own making. He's had to be his own Merlin occasionally, pulling off nearly magical feats(health care, recession, bin laden) against the backdrop of a feckless Congressional 'round table' corrupted by Morgana like intrigue and dissembling. Of course I don't expect you to admit to these similarities. Your extreme setup of your first post identifies you as a Right Wing shill who's only purpose is to manipulate public opinion by making such an extreme accusation (Obama is Mordred) as part of a fascist Big Lie strategy to damage our duly elected President's ability to help America drag itself out of the mess you Republicans created. If I were him I'd have sites like this investigated for illegal connections to tea party PACs. But just like Arthur's Mordred and Morgana Obama can't 'whack off your heads' without going through lawful procedure.

I remember how the Lefties had fits over people referring to Obama as Barrack Husien Obama. I think it would be most appropriate and just grand if we who oppose Obama and his "Change" were to just start referring to him as Mordred. Don't explain it, just let it sink in and reveal itself. Liberals always see Religious Fervor in Conservatives. Why can't you take the OP on face value. I said it is Myth and Analogy, why can't you accept the thread as the OP defined it? If you don't think Obama is Mordred, then what character of Myth is he? Certainly NOT Aurthur! Calibos perhaps?
I don't have need to mythologize Presidents. I have never been deluded enough to think of any President as Arthur or the Messiah. But thats another example of why I am not a Conservative.
