Al Jazerra America

I have just discovered that current tv(al gores former station) has finally been replaced. I only watched it a few minutes. Can already tell it is better than current was at least for news. Their documentaries were ok. Has anyone else watched Al Jazzera America? Also what is your opinion of their reporting?

 

Excellent news source when compared to the other fluff artists. I enjoy it. I'm sure somebody will make them "stick a sock in it" before too long though so, enjoy it while you can.

 

Well currently you're forced to choose between jewish propaganda and arab propaganda.

They both despise you, but the arabs are more incompetent, so i would definately go with al jazeera.

 

I just want the information pal. I can decide for myself what to do with it. You keep the fluff.

Watch both, get both sides of a story and get a more informed picture of what's really going on.

LOL, I assume that is sarcasm. I like information from varied sources American media is not very good for international news. Not that great at American news you have to watch them all and cross reference to attempt to find the truth among the tabloid. I have not ever watched Al Jazerra before it seemed far better than what it replaced. Besides the documentaries that current had, it was not very good IMO.

 

I've not watched it, but friends (UK conservatives) have told me it's one of the better news sources.

Of course the problem is that it's Al-news, AKA A-rab news, to US conservatives.

 

I could tell it would be considered left to Americans. While I am not fond of the governments in the ME and those groups that kill innocents people. I have no ill will towards the citizens of those countries most of them have no control of their govts. I like information and the more sources the more informed of a decision I can make. It will likely replace msnbc as a source I watch for other points of view.

 

I watch Al Jazeera among other news sources-mainly the BBC. The journalism is good, and the reporting goes way beyond the 5-second news bites I see on US news. Renowned journalist David Frost worked for Al Jazeera until his recent death. If it's good enough for a serious professional like him (remember the Nixon interview?), it's good enough for me.

 

It is quite refreshing to actually get news instead of nonsense from CNN or FOX. Big difference. Yes, quite refreshing. Actual, pertinent news, on a news network. Who'd have thunk it?

 

It's an excellent station, actually.

 

But be warned! They are subliminally programming you to go out and eat christian babies...

(You know what, I'll bet that there are some heads here actually nodding in agreement with that!)

 

I watch it often: the coverage is excellent.

 

I already do that.

I find their lack of fluff pieces and their approach to be refreshing. All in all they do a great job.

 

Notice how all the usual leftwing extremist that post here love a station that is tacitly owned by our enemies???

 

Actually, there is very little Arab news at all. It's mostly US/World based. Obviously, they do the major Middle East stories and since they have affiliates there they tend to get more accurate info quicker. But the anchors are Americans, the documentaries are by Americans and the stories are heavily American-centric, although there is far more foreign news than you would get on, say, Faux. And there are no fluff pieces. It's just news and documentaries. All in all far better than most crap you get here.

They have to fool us into believing they are fair and balanced until they are sure we accept them as credible. Only then will they slip the BIG lie to US.

I have not, but in past news story I found AJ to be more middle of the road than most would have you believe.

There is no question that is the goal.

There is no doubt that Jihad are the acts which will be used to accomplish this goal.

We all know that al Jazeera is owned and mostly operated by Muslims.
