The closest thing we have had to pure libertarianism (Tea Party ideal) was 18th century capitalism which had children working to death in sweat shops, debtors prisons, incredible wealth gaps and abject poverty for most citizens. It didn't last long because nobody wanted to do any work. He dismantled the commune, rebuilt the house and got married. Go figure...
