According to HuffPo, it's a group of "Asians":
    http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/201...ttacked-asian-gang-east-london_n_4156444.html

Just for the record, non of them look Korean, Indian or Chinese!

Here's the same news-bit from another source:

Most koreans chinese and japanes would prefer not to be called "Asians" together with middle easterners.

But this is not the thread is all about is it? Why do you focus on a rather narrow spectrum of my post?

They might as well be, they're a part of the Lower Asian areas. Those nations are as much Asiatic as a chameleon is a mammal. Much the same, would you call Israel an "asian" country? No, you wouldn't.

They're a part of the lavishing, undeveloped 2nd/3rd world.

Guys guys, this isn't about regional stuff or anthropology... this is about UK's total failure in absorbing immigrants and their idiotic "muti-culturalism".

I haz an idea, how about if you want to live like a palestinian (just for an example's sake), you stay inside the Palestine?

tell that to the Amish and Hasidic Jews in the USA, who are under the strange impression that America is about tolerance and religious liberty.

London (and many White Western capitals) today must feel like Rome in the waning days of the Empire........and remember what happened to civilization when Rome fell........hundreds of years of the Dark Ages........when White Western culture brings in millions of people who created wonderful places like Lagos, Karachi, etc the end is near....

A 20-year-old man has appeared in court charged with grievous bodily harm after an alleged attack on an American student was caught on CCTV. Shaleem Uddin, of Romford Street, Whitechapel, was remanded in custody after appearing at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Friday. He is accused of being one of five Asian men shown in a video released by police apparently showing an assault on American student Francesco Hounye, 22. Mr Hounye was on his way back to a friend’s house in Whitechapel after a night out in Brick Lane when he is alleged to have been attacked in Commercial Road, Whitechapel, just after midnight on June 17. He had arrived in London from Florida just three days before the incident happened. Police said they believe he was targeted because he was “obviously not local”, adding that he speaks with an Italian accent and has his own style of dress. Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident. No other arrests have so far been made. Uddin will next appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on November 8.

I'd like to comment on these attacks again non-whites.

I went to college in NYC, with many non-whites.

what did I observe? immigrants from Southeast Asia and Asia were much better students than native whites.

yes, the Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi, and East Asian immigrant students studied much harder and cared much more about their education, than native Irish, Italians, Polish, Jews, and other native whites.

What the hell are you right-wingers babbling about? London is one of the capitals of the world. It has a level of sophistication, affluence, and culture that makes the Deep South look like an even bigger pit than it already is.

The Tri-state area has an economy comparable to the entire state of Texas and points and laughs at the other Red States that make up the economy nothing that is the Deep South. The homogenous KKK culture produces nothing, sorry.

Since you are a liberal therefore your assumptions and claims are usually not fact-based, I feel it's my kind gesture to remind you: Source? Which Amish/Jewish group has that kind of impression and what percentage of them has that kind of impression?

The same can not be said about middleeasterns, who perform poorly in college, whom I suspect, is your fav. group of people.

The suspects are described as Asian and aged in their late teens to early 20s. They are possibly Bengali.

Two major religions practiced in Bengal are Islam and Hinduism. In Bangladesh 88.3% of the population follow Islam (US State Department est. 2007) while 9.6% follow Hinduism. In West Bengal, Hindus are the majority with 72% of the population while Muslims comprise 25.2%. Other religious groups include Buddhists and Christians. wiki

London got be one of the worst place possible in this planet. It looks like a garbage can when compared with real world-class metropolitan areas like Tokyo-Harajuku line. London has heavily littered streets, roving bums, exclusive and inhospitable locals. Arrogant service providers. I had a colleague who stayed there for 6 months... got back as soon as he could. That's what he remembered after 6 months. Thank god I've never been there.

Should one day UK fail just like Rome (which is impossible to tell since what qualifies as "fail"?) I would exclaim "Good riddance!" and nothing more.

MOD EDIT: RESPECTFUL DEBATE IS REQUIRED HERE London is one if the most cosmopolitan cities on planet earth, it is an alpha ++ world class city, and it oozes the kind of class right-wing strongholds like Texas can only dream about. It has a homicide rate that is a fraction of the safest US city or state (melting pot NYC is Anerica's safest big city btw). Stop embarrassing yourselves.

Oh and speaking as a veteran expat that lived in Tokyo for over 4 years, I maintain that London is nothing but a huge trash can when compared with Tokyo.

Actually no offense, when you think about it, the entire England looks incredibly crony with patches after patches of farmland.

If course we will ignore the long history of "red-blooded" patriotic American and British white gangs who have a long history of gay bashing (baseball bats as a favorite tool) effeminate-looking men on the street, along with using too-short skirts or too-revealing clothes or drunkenness as a justification to rape women.

I presume by large you mean in terms of the population. In which case I would beg to differ, and categorically declare that in terms of population, Indonesia is the largest Muslim nation in the world. And,I any case the The Philippines has a majority Catholic population, but with a militant Muslim minority.
