You claimed allowing states to determine the appropriate minimum wage for their citizens would lead states to competing with each other to lower the wage.

and thats completely false, because there are 21 states that have minimum wages higher than the current federal requirement of $7.25 an hour.

i think Mr Obama has a brilliant idea..equal pay for equal work..he is right..a burger flipper for Mcdonalds should get the same pay as Mr Obama..minimum wage for both of them..same for all politicians..minimum wage..they do about the same amount of work so the same amount of pay...

I think that you should thank those splendid job creators that you so worship for putting their personal greed ahead of the best interests of their country and helping to impoverish American workers while they get richer.

This is true - but the data from the BLS is for workers 16 yrs old and above.

I know you probably don't realize this, but there are over a thousand labor organizations out there besides the UAW. Not all of them do business like the UAW does.

If those less than minimum wage earners include servers, toss all that ^#$&*@*@ out the window. I made a killing one summer in college, working at Chillis. And I had to give the busboys a cut, who actually were making MW. Its completely dishonest for people to use servers or bartenders as some sort of hard luck case....assuming they get enough hours to make the tips.

So you think a CEO shouldnt be concerned with the success of his business, and only concerned with giving away money?

um.... Thats why obama and pals are complete failures. Theyve never had a job. The have no idea how business works.

not all of them own the business like the UAW does....

Dont you think thats kinda strange? Obama and pals gave half of GM to the UAW, but the UAW is somehow supposed to represent workers, against the very business the UAW owns?

Honestly, no because I don't belong to the UAW nor any of its affiliates; as such I don't pay much attention to that aspect of what the President may or may not have done or what the union has aquired or not.

Your Appeal to Emotion Fallacy has no traction here, liberal. You should recognize that you didn't say anything if you had resort to a Fallacy. Even some liberal economists agree that raising the minimum wage hurts jobs.

It's really sad watching you get caught over and over again parroting spin from right wing media and routinely getting called out for it.

You would think you would have learned from the experience, having been punked by your media as many times as you have.

Its even sadder to watch you try and rationalize your mistake with fact free rants like this.

But you keep right on going back to the same baloney peddlers for more of the same.

I see you've been busy while I was away working!

Making up more ridiculous assertions, or parroting the nonsene you hear on the right wing blogs, again.

Now tell us, what business does the UAW own?

It isn't General Motors. It isn't Chrysler (Fiat just bought their share).

As for your rant about the UAW owning GM..... well... we covered this one a long time ago. Sorry that a few wingnuts just cling to the old myths!

    http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-m...omney-says-obama-gave-away-car-companies-uni/

One more thing. If you think that its bad for unions to own a piece of the companies their members work for, ask the guys at Mercedez Benz, Volkswagen or BMW about it.

That's not what your asertion was.

Besides, its clear that more people work for less than the minimum wage, than actually collect it, which was the fact you were trying to excuse your way around.

We have no reliable statistics on who out there makes less than the minimum wage, but I'll wager one of them waited on you in a store today, and he/she wasn't hispanic.

In any case, a reading of the real BLS figures blew up your OP very nicely, dispite your rantings to the contrary.

    From you're own politifarce source.…
That’s how an independent health care trust for UAW beneficiaries ended up owning Chrysler and GM stock. As of February 2012, the trust holds a 41.5 percent stake in Chrysler and a 10.3 percent stake in General Motors.

The UAW owns portions of gm and Chrysler.

Please apologize for your false claims.

LOL, and are you going to start apologizing for your false claims now?

We can start with that cute little video you posted a couple weeks back about the teacher who supposedly failed all his students which turned out to be a false claim.

I don't recall you apologizing for that. Or did I miss it?

Owning 10% of a corporation is not owning the corporation.

And, since you are starved for authentic news, Fiat bought the UAW's share of Chrysler just recently.

I pointed this out to you already. Apparantly, the news either hasn't reached the backsward world of the right trash blogosphere, or you don't bother to do any basic research.

Yes, It is. They have a seat on the board of directors.

The UAW cannot represent workers when their heavily invested in the corporation, those workers work for...

    Its a conflict of interest.

oh and since they do own part of the competition, they cannot negotiate with Ford, or Chyrsler either.

Manufacturing jobs have left. They aren't coming back. It is going to be more profitable for companies to have their products manufactured by the third world for several generations.

Isnt it kinda sad how epa and other government regulations force American manufacturers over seas or go bankrupt?

I like the environment too, but its costing us jobs, and destroying the middle class

Yea, it has nothing to do with being able to pay slave wages in third world countries.
