So no conservatives are trying to get smarter..........no conservative students.
So no conservative teachers.............no conservative trying to teach kids.

That was easy enough. They don't want to learn, nor do they want to teach. But I don't think its a "want", I think its a "can't".

Actually this thread is NOT about teachers. It is about the stupid b'crats that sop up education money and pull stupid stunts like taking food out of kids mouths.

The simple fact about education is that if you are not a teacher in front of a class teaching, your job is suspect. There are way too many b'crats sopping up education money. I would suggest that every school district in the country could get rid of 50% of their back water b'crats, and the school and the taxpayers would be better off. I would further suggest they would never be missed!

I agree, my county superintendant ran on that platform. Get rid of bloat.

When he won, an example of what he did.

a buddy of his was the county's athletics director. He made 75k a year. Another buddy was head buses and made 65k

The A.D. retired and instead of replacing, he simply combined buses with AD and gave buddy #2 a raise to 75$k (because after all, he was doing twice the job, and this was still cheaper than hiring a second person.

but a month later, the 'retired' ad was hired on as an athletic director consultant for 75k.

so now, both his buddies were making 75k instead of 75k and 65k AND the first buddy was also drawing his pension on top of his salary.

But but but.... he elimated an administrator position.... he's so great....

but don't worry, voters voiced their disapproval by re-electing him.

so voters are just as much to blame for crap like this than school employees.

If only it were that simple. My job would have been a lot easier if I could just look at someone and tell if they were a good guy or a bad guy. Kids experience stress too, but may not be able to handle it as well as adults. Here's Johnny, all emotionally twisted about Justin Biever or some such nonsense, and here comes frankenteach, dumping his lunch and making a spectacle of him in front of everybody, including cute little Jane who he has the hots for, and he goes home and spends a few hours at Warcraft, visualizing his tormentor the whole time, and vows to regain the respect of his peers, especially Jane, on a grand scale. Bingo!
    Enjoy!

Please try not to go to theme parks every week. Teachers get paid more then their counterparts with similar degrees. Are you forgetting to add the value of your pensions? 68k in Florida is well above average for 8.5 months of work.

don't divert... noone said anything about going to a themepark every week.... focus on what I said... that property values in Orlando area are very pricey.... I mean, it's prime real estate. but to expect a 70k salary to be able to afford that realestate is like asking a min wage employee in my area to afford a 500k house. Cost of living isn't being calculated in your "68k is well above average for 8.5 months of work" It is in my area, not in Orlando

btw - we are contracted for 10 months... not 8.5. August 1 - June 1 (or from the 15th-15th, whenever the school year starts) is 10 months.

pension is indeed, a selling point... so is job security... but all of those things are being attacked, too.

Pension and health insurance were HUGE in my decision to teach.

Well, thankfully this is an isolated incident and not the way the schools in America operate. It was a stupid decision made by a stupid person, that should now be unemployed. I think the school as already apologized.

Most schools have a running tab. No kid goes unfed, and I don't mean the replacement apple/milk they were provided when their other lunch was taken from them.

There is no excuse for taking a child's food, and there is no excuse for humiliating them in front of others.

Some of the other "stupid actions by schools" I have read about are banning red ink, because the teacher's corrections on a test come off too "aggressive"..... banning "best friends" because it "could make other students feel left out"..... the Vegan group trying to ban milk from school lunches.... the Toronto school who banned balls, because a parent got hit with one during a soccer match....and what we hear repeatedly, children being suspended for making the shape of a gun with their fingers or slice of bread.

what is (*)(*)(*)(*)ing retarded beyond all recognition is the fact that PRISONERS of all people are guaranteed food throughout their day, yet our school children have to suffer because of an account being $4 in the red.

i mean what the hell? this (*)(*)(*)(*) is ass backwards.

I agree, GeddonM3. It is retarded (even criminal) for us to treat criminals better than our children or service men and women BUT, so is the way of our world which the liberal has made. I also agree with LOGIGAL1 because both of you have pointed out simple logic and the actions of those who care for their students as opposed to those who don't. I believe this had nothing to do with the parent as some of the liberals brought out on this forum earlier. It is simply their way to further punish an actual tax payer as the moron who trashed the food was doing. Perhaps this low life even had a beef with the parent for voicing an opinion about such waste in other areas so the low life wasted the kid's lunch to make a point of how the LOW LIFE's are in power so sit down, shut up and take it.......much the way the liberal's president does.

Back when I was a kid....and even now, the teachers in our area would/will gladly have made provisions for the student and not said a word. Now if it had been a continual thing, they (and even I) would then PRIVATELY get with the parent to see if they needed help. Look, these parents who pay for the lunch are usually tax payers or pay a higher % of taxes than those who's kids get free lunch and God only knows that things are extremely tough under this clown of a president and I hope that every low life in our school system, Congress and on to OUR White House gets the boot this Nov. and in 2016. They deserve much worse but I'll settle for them getting the boot.

Unbelievable as some of you conservatives may find it, there are some of us who don't even watch so called "news" channels that are known to lie,and distort their news on the instructions of Rupert Murdoch I watch largely BBC America frex, which has a policy of not carrying a story until they check it out with at least a few credible sources, unlike Faux which often uses "unnamed" sources because the source can't remember his name, as long as he still hates Obama. . Rules here, and just general politeness say you're supposed to list the source of any news story you use, especially if you start a thread with it, If only so we can be sure we're all talking about the same thing.

    http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/02/0...y-lunch-10-year-old-autistic-boy-mother-says/

From looking at other sources ,it seems to me there is more of the story that FAUX is not telling, so what else is new?

Don't conservatives ever get tired of being taken for fools?. I realize FAUX largely tells their listeners how they are God's Gift to Humanity but every girl leans to recognize hollow flattery by the age of 13. They also have pretty newscasters, but I can download honest porn from the net for free and look at it whenever I like. I have no reason to let someone lie in my face and then make me watch commercials for the privilege.

uhhh, yes, I am aware... I work at a school

some schools, and I believe the one in the story is like this, is going to private contractors to do food service. mine does.

Managers get bonuses if their school runs the lowest food costs, so we get cheap food, the cheat the portions smaller, and they get p.o.'d over parents not paying for their kid's food.

in the story, though, the principal took care of the problem as he found out about it.. I understand the "he's responsible for everyone's actions under him" line, but he did everything to make the situation right after the fact.

You dont work no 10 months. Count up all the holidays. 9 maybe.

Of course they were huge reasons. They are worth about $25k. That is a multimillion dollar pension if you play your health right.

Teachers shouldnt be more secure then anyone else. They have an important job, better to lose the riff raff and get in replacements then keep adults employed. You have nothing to fear, no one wants your job, and few are qualified. That is your job security - rare talent and patience.

Be honest with me now, aren't there some teachers that are clearly better then others?

NOOOOOOOO! The parents should pay by the number of kids they have in school. I have no kids, I'm paying "school taxes" to educate somebody else's, now you want me to pay to feed them too?

Then how is this the problem of the school? This would because of the food provider.
