According to the USA Today news report McDonald introduced its new burger in Switzerland 'The prime'. A company spokesperson said this burger has 'character, taste and size'. Though there is a bit confusion about the character and what about their other burger line, do they also have character or they are without character. The burger price is even a shock to swiss customers. McDonald is not introducing this burger in the U.S. http://www.usatoday.com/story/money...lds-fast-food-burgers-pricey-burgers/6927979/
Switzerland has always been one of the more expensive countries in Europe. This doesn't surprise me and, as it's a make-on-demand food, Mickey D's won't pull it.
Im sure they are not. Their target group is the working class and lower class of society. - - - Updated - - - Any food that is produced in masses in short time is basicly crap. I take much care for my body, do training and care much for the food i eat and such (*)(*)(*)(*) is not my taste.
Try again! Or, better yet, PROVE your allegation! I remember many, many very healthy meals in Germany and Austria. And, I think their incidence of heart attacks is a very low percentage of the population. - - - Updated - - - I will never forget going to Cologne, Germany on a brief trip in the early '70s and being surprised to stand on the steps of that magnificent cathedral - and seeing a MacDonald's on the edge of the square.
I can imagine someone, somewhere will pay 12 - is that U.S. or Euro? I'm quite sure I canNOT imagine one of those in my hands. For my $12 U.S., I get a prime rib or NY strip and cut it into 3 or 4 servings... all for me. To the pits of hell with that 'burgerized' beef.
McDonald has nothing on a good cordon bleu, schnitzel, or my faves, curry wurst and pommel fits mit mayo mein freund. They make schnitzel stands look like 4 star restaurants.
Other nations have certain food standards that the American companies have to abide by. I rarely eat meat but when I do it must be without antibiotics, hormones and from animals that graze...healthier that way. Hey, who wants cancer?
Markus let me tell you something, any food that is not organic, and any product from an animal that doesn't graze, and is not free of antibiotics and hormones is junk and dangerous for your health, no matter how much you pay. My grandson who is a real gourmet, and will only go to top restaurants said that even the Kobe steaks are not really Kobe steaks anymore. Anyway I live in Florida now and there are farms all year around with organic vegetables. One place even sells fresh organic vegetable drinks...and boy are they expensive. But look it cured their cancer, so they turned it into a business.
I try very hard not to imagine a McDonald's burger. At any price. Then again if it has a good character, who knows, it could be a great friendship...
I'd rather eat a good hambuger or hotdog before a steak anyday...I have no problem paying $12 for a good burger, I wouldnt eat a steak for free...
McD burgers just aren't very good imo, I had a McBistro grilled chicken BLT yesterday that was tasty...
Actually no one can guarantee what is inside a burger... it can be meat and fat, meat and intestines and fat, meat and organs and fat, meat mixed with anything... The best burger is the home made, the rest, any one sold in stores can't guarantee you much. There is not control about what is mixed in a burger. Best and smart way to eat meat in any store or restaurant is to have it as a steak or served separately like strips, etc. Regardless of what kind of food the cow received, at least it is meat what you are consuming. And about chicken. The rule is to buy chicken when it comes attached to the bones, like tights, legs, breast, etc. Who knows what chinese restaurants serve you when they sell chicken nuggets, chicken loose pieces in different plates, many of those "chicken" pieces appear not to belong to any part of a real chicken. So, when buying pieces of chicken no bones means no guarantee that what you eat comes from a bird. Lol. About the cost... in food there is no guarantee that higher prices means better food quality... the store sets the prices... the consumer pays... that's all...
Oprah has been to this McDonalds in Switzerland. She said the clerk pointed her towards the Dollar menu and away from the expensive burger.
