So, between 22 and 25 may there will be the elections for the European Parliament. What are you going to do guys? Personally i will boycott this elections, i don't wont a "united europe" i don't like the ue and italy have for the european elections a fascist voting system that impede the representation of sardinians.
My uncle from England comes over yearly, a few years ago i told him about UKIP/ Nigel Farage..... he laughed as a die hard Labor voter. This year however he says he and all his mates will be voting UKIP. Seems native Brits are sick to the eyeballs of EU laws - particularly the mass immigration/ replacement program. Glad to see the motherland getting her mojo back!
Interesting elections for sure... I would like for Jüncker to be Commission President -- but not sure if the heads of state and government will honour the result of the generel election...
The debate has been kick started in the UK by the recent debates held between Nick Clegg (UK deputy prime minister) and Nigel Farage, who are polar opposites in their views of the EU. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-26854894 http://www.lbc.co.uk/clegg-v-farage-the-eu-debate-86749
The President of the Commission isn't elected by the voters. He is appointed by the European Council, with the assent of the European Parliament. Juncker is pretty well-positioned to be appointed by the Council, but they may choose anybody.
The commission is not related to the popular vote and is decided by the agreement of the national governments it is important that national governments are their to counter balance the parliament.
I will vote I have no problem with a united Europe and see the european project as essential for the long term prosperity of the region. I have problems with the EU and do believe that further reform is necessary. I will vote like I do at every opportunity we hold our local elections on the same day an old friend is standing and I think i may support him. I am frustrated that the candidates have not all been announced yet. It is also disheartening that so many of the issues raised are national rather than european issues and so many voters based on the performance of national parties.
We rarely have an occasion to make our voice heard to the people that make 80% of the EU laws. Which are apply before national laws. A blank vote is a waste Therefore. I'm voting against a new united European states as we don't even have a language in common to do it. Which is the bare minimum for deep political integration. Our countries defended their nation interest better before full integration. . The more centralize it get, the futher the politics are from the people. We all know how it will end up.
... I realize that the heads of state and govenrment appoint the Commission President, but with all the reforms there now will be a "fight of the titans" with televized debates and everything. I'm pretty sure Jüncker will become Prez.
If the party i belong does not participate (which is the most possible) i will probably vote for the Stalinists (KKE) for their clear anti-EU stance , the other clear against EU option are the nazis (XA) and i prefer to chop both my hands from the shoulder than vote for them.
To the OP if you seriously don't want a European Union then boycotting this vote and not voting is a sure fire way to make sure that it happens. If you want something to change you need to vote. It seems you are from Italy. Let me tell you what if I was from Italy I would be pretty damn desperate to get back control of my country. If you have completely given up hope and don't want to vote, then unfortunately you are only contributing to your own and your countries suffering.
