I was hoping for it to end in extra time, it would have been unfair for germany to lose in PK lottery, they were the more deserving team imo...

apologies if you feel trashed, not my intent to be abrasive if that's how it came across...

10,000 posts, not sure there's an award for that maybe I should be worried I'm spending too much time on here...

Do it twice and it's six point, just like a touchdown, or 1 point in euro football. I'm sure Justin Tucker would appreciate the extra points.

I had to look up who Justin Tucker was, I see he scored all the points in one game for his team, 6 field goals...putting a ball over the bar in soccer is routine just think of the score if they were awarded 3 pts for every shot over the bar, no one would bother to try score a goal any more...

Congratulations to Germany! This is your first World Cup Championship since East and West Germany were reunited. I don't care much for the game of soccer to be truthful about it, but I am very happy to see a country take pride in itself and enjoy a championship of world importance that their countrymen earned for them in honest competition. In our country half of us hate the other half and everybody makes fun of everybody else. There is no pride and there is no feeling of national happiness. I hope you guys in Germany hold on to this unity and this pride because if you lose it you will be in the same sad place that we Americans are.

That is because soccer is more challenging then football.

I was a Denver Broncos fan until the last Super Bowl. I never saw a football team fall apart so completely as the Donkos did in that game.

The Colorado Avalanche had a really bad hockey season. I don't like basketball, so I couldn't care less about the Denver Nuggets. And this year (as usual) the Colorado Rockies stink in baseball. Maybe I'll try to get interested in the Colorado Rapids, which is our professional soccer team. How could I do any worse? Who knows? Maybe in about a hundred more years, the U. S. could win a World Cup championship. :roflol:

That depends on where you're from. For you folks in North-America it's soccer, for the entire rest of the world it's football.

Oh, I'll bet you mean F-O-O-T-B-A-L-L?! That's what the Denver Broncos played last season until the Super Bowl when they decided to play the NFL version of "A Bridge Too Far", or was it "Zombie Apocalypse"...?
[IMG] "A Bridge Too Far"...? The Germans won that, too! :clapping:

USA's best striker and 2nd best striker were not playing in any of the games save the first. We'll see you all again in the Olympics.

Yep, and American 'football' with an average play time of a staggering 11 minutes per game (which can extend to 4 hours) is filled with exciting action-packed drama?

No wonder the 'World Series' contains nobody from the rest of the world!

You think Association Football is boring? At least there is ad-free action for 90 minutes and very few obsessive replays, endless quoting of statistics, shots of 'players' standing around doing nothing for minutes on end etc, etc...

Here in Aus it's soccer too. Football is Australian Rules football. However at least kicking the ball is an integral element in our game unlike gridiron where kicking is a real niche aspect of the game. Has the game always been played like that I wonder or was there a time when kicking was a more widely used part of gridiron.
Anyway, I'm open to anyone calling their national foot and ball sport football.

Germany really beat down Brazil in the semifinals. I haven't seen Germany dominate another country like that since Poland in 1939.

But seriously, it's been a good year for Germany both in economics and sports.

    lol

I do love your way to be ironic sometimes. I can hear your way beeing it !

btw...I start to have a slight Feeling that your ideas you did explain me before about Germanys Position are may be not that stupit....

Yesterday I fellowed a discussion about the NSA scandal and I did hear the reaction of an american politician in that talk Show:

"Germany has 82 Million habitans, we do have 300 +. Germanys GDP is...ours is...Germany is insignificant. We can spy as Long as much and how ever we do like on you. You should not dare to critizise that, we own you"...

I do not think that guy does represent the majority of americans, but for a Moment I was really confused. At least in Football, the USA will not dominate us...that is for sure.

ah...I guess most americans are upset about such representants themselves...

    Take care ^^

Ty. I think Germany should become or try to become world leader in all what concernes ecology and health. The whole german power in economy focussed in solving ecological problems would be the next championship I would like to see us winning.
