At least 20 have been killed in shelling of the city of Lugansk, eastern Ukraine. The information was confirmed by the local city administration.

"Today intense bombardment of Lugansk has continued. Shells are falling in almost all districts of the city,” the administration said in a statement. “According to preliminary information, more than 20 civilians have been killed since this morning."


The statement posted on the administration’s website said shells targeted the city center, major streets, the railway station and a market.

Lugansk residents reported a shell falling close to a church, killing one person. They said the city was attacked by Ukrainian army’s rockets fired from a military jet.

"Self-defense forces fired at [the aircraft] from manpads [man-portable air defence systems], but we don’t know if they hit it or not,” some locals were cited as saying by ITAR-TASS.

The Lisichansk Oil Refinery, property of the Russian oil company Rosneft - recently sanctioned by the US - has also been attacked and set on fire.

The opposition claims the refinery was targeted by Ukrainian army from Grad multiple rocket launcher system.

U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power told an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council on Friday that the United States cannot rule out help from Russia in the launch of the surface-to-air missile that shot down a Malaysian airlines jet killing all 298 people on board.

If indeed Russian-backed separatists were behind this attack on a civilian airliner, they and their backers would have good reason to cover up evidence of their crime," Power told the council. "Thus it is extremely important than an investigation be commenced immediately."

The Security Council called for "a full, thorough and independent international investigation."

The council called for an investigation "in accordance with international civil aviation guidelines and for appropriate accountability." It stressed the need for "immediate access by investigators to the crash site to determine the cause of the incident.".....snip~

The problem is not who shot the plane down, because all the evidence shows it had to have come from Kiev, but why was it shot down? Would they kill innocent people for a false flag operations? Maybe, although I doubt the government in Kiev which stoop to that level, or take that chance. There is though one Ukrainian oligarch who would stoop that low, whether it's to get even with Putin for taking out a warrant for his arrest, or to hurt the Malaysian president for political reasons which I would rather not get into.

Anyway if anyone is going to get to the bottom of this, it will be Vladimir Putin and the Russian government. As for Obama, the man looks sick. Well he's finding out being a president takes a bit more than just getting votes. There are times when lies and spins and media mind manipulations are not going to pull it. Nonsense. The BUK system has a 90-95% success rate with one missile, and MH17 was well within range; the BUK's missiles have a range of 60,000+ feet.

 

German services do think it was russian soldiers brought to Ukraine with these special weappon systems.

Putin wanted to let sgut down ukrainian troop transporters and did get the civil plane.

Because german victims are involved, german special forces should go to do research - terrorists cannot be trusted and I think they might kill the OSZE officials or kidnapp them. In case any pro russian scum will show up during they research, they should get executed directly.

 

They keep killing civilians in order to inflict harm because their army is completely trapped and surrounded by rebel forces. They either have to surrender or escape into Russia...which as we know would not be an escape, but rather an experience in interrogation... I mean how else can Russia find out who the war criminals are for their new White Book collection of facts. I believe the Ukrainian troops have been given forty eight hours to surrender and to sign a paper accepting the borders of the Dombas People's Republic, or they will be considered terrorists and handled as such by the Freedom Fighters.

Maybe Kiev did shoot the plane down as a false flag operation to get Nato to intervene...since everything is lost right now for them. Other than the casualties which have been many, Kiev has lost ten jets, as well as helicopters, tanks, etc.

From what I'm gathering, these Freedom Fighters of the New Republic want to unite with Russia, but Russia keeps mentioning 'Federalizing', so let's see what happens, of course we'll never know from our press...but then of course there is Moon of Alabama and the non Western press.

The CIA has been active in Ukraine of late, and probably for many years if not decades already. They're helping ensure that this plane disaster is fully exploited in favour of the US-friendly Kievan government and its military campaign.

This rumour we've been hearing about a deleted Vkontakte post now being treated as some kind of confirmed fact, and this blaming of Russia and Putin directly, indicate that this tragedy is being used for propaganda purposes. That is disgusting..

 

This is going to be an all out propaganda effort by the U.S. government and the media until the investigation is over and the facts are revealed. Then the media will switch our attention to something else to blame Russia for, and the results of the investigation will be hidden on some back page of the New York Times...that is if it is mentioned at all. Unbelievable, but there will always be those who can be easily deceived, and judging from this forum there are quite a few of them.

This will be similar to the chemical attack that Assad was blamed for, when the culprits as revealed by the Pulitzer Prize winning investigative reporter Seymour Hersch was Turkey and Al Nusra. Which makes one wonder if this could have been a false flag attack like the chemical one in Syria where we were ready to bomb Damascus because of it, and yet it was committed by Al Nusra with Turkey's help. Either that or they tried to kill Putin whose plane was taking the same route a short while before that. The other possibility is that it was an attack on Malaysia for a political action the president took the day before which would have upset a powerful Ukrainian oligarch.

What I find amazing with our media and Washington's incessant mind control, is that everything our ambassador says to the U.N. is readily reported since it falls within the scope of our political propaganda, but never what is being said by the delegates that dispute it. What is Washington afraid of, that people might find out things are not the way Washington present's them? Are we being prepared for another world war? One can only wonder.
