    This is just mind blowing. There are so many people in New Mexico and California who refuse to learn English that the debates must be conducted in Spanish. Total bull(*)(*)(*)(*). No accommodations should be made for those who refuse to learn English. English is the language of the land. Our laws are written in English. Our traffic signs are written in English.

    If you cannot speak the language, go back to the place of which you claim. No accommodations should be made.

    Nonsense. The debates did not have to be conducted in Spanish. The leftists have given up attracting American voters. They have the racists, the gays, the deadbeats, and the pedophiles so they're going for the Hispanics whether they speak English or not. I just wish we could stop them from bringing in millions of undocumented Democrats.

    "When you're out numbered, you lose elections. When you lose elections, you lose power. When you lose power, you lose control. When you lose control, the nation is no longer yours. When the nation is no longer yours, it belongs to another. When the nation belongs to another, it starts idolizing its own people as its national heroes, not yours. It starts building monuments to them, not you. It starts putting their own faces on their currency. It starts forging its own allies, and making its own enemies." - Teutorian

    Add to that list - they speak their own language, not yours.

    WTF is all i can say. Our country has obviously failed if a Political debate is preferred in Spanish. How can anyone not see how utterly ludicrous this is?

    Whether someone's English is exemplary or not is hardly the issue. Do you approve of the Balkanization of the U.S. or not?

    There are Spanish speaking people who have been here since it was Mexico and don't speak English. Where are they supposed to go back to? If we didnt want Spanish speakers we shouldn't have taken over half a nation of Spanish speakers.

    based on another thread, school teachers are having problems communicating with the 'new Spanish speaking kiddies because of dialect problems. Do you think that they've been here long enough to have adapted to the Ameican dialect?

    Just in case ;
    basado en otro hilo , los maestros de escuela están teniendo problemas para comunicarse con los "nuevos kiddies de habla hispana debido a problemas dialectales . ¿Cree usted que han estado aquí el tiempo suficiente para haberse adaptado al dialecto Ameican

    I believe it still is for those who immigrate legally. But for example, my mother in law is a natural born citizen who's family's been here since it was Mexico, and she doesn't speak English.

    Our laws written in the english language sometimes mandate that the person's native language be used if they are not english proficient. Blame George H.W. Bush.

    Good example. Now should it be her responsibility to learn English or the govt's and all of OUR responsibility to cater to her deficiency?

    Agreed 100%. I have alot of respect for those who speak a foreign languange AND English......I have none for those who only speak their foreign language and expect us to accomodate them.
