Yes, the army has other things to worry about. Kicking someone out over a DUI makes more sense than kicking someone out over a single incident involving a Halloween decoration is way over the top. Besides, people kicked out of the service are going to have to be replaced. If the military were to kick someone out for every little rule a servicemember breaks, we wouldn't have a military. At the very least, you need to establish a consistent history of his/her behavior before putting that person on report.

Your comment about lashings shows that you are more interested in revenge than correcting a deficiency.

One wonders what groups of leftwingers created this weird code book for ol' Legs Tingles Matthews . . . and what they were smoking, snorting, or injecting that they came to consider everything under the sun to be . . . code?

So when whites were lynching blacks who just wanted equality what would you call it?

    As the old saying goes...

Never trust anyone who doesn't have some kind of paperwork done on them.

A Democrat "get out the vote" rally.

You do realize it was your side doing the lynching and for the purpose of voter intimidation, right?

At what point do you draw the line? A burning cross during All Hallow's Eve? How about real life effigies depicting the same symbolism?

It is a stupid stunt that had a type of symbolism of a burning cross or real life effigies depeicting the same thing. It was enough for the Army brass to get that type of stupid stunt down.

this was a lack of discipline off the battle field and it is something [/B]that should not be tolerated at all no matter what the excuse is. It will send a very clear message to anyone and everyone in the Army. And there is a huge difference between the scariest Slasher scene and this.

Oh well, then I guess you don't trust your DI's in the Marine Corps or any officer, do you?

So, there is at least one freak in the US Army. Which of the large organisations in the world doesn't have them?

What a lame title and thread. There was no lynching implication.

Since they only had black garbage bags, instead of white.... they're racist ;)

    Ingenious!

Anyway.... do you have a credible source for this? All I see is HuffPo.

I saw it, it was removed. I don't think the intent was "lynching 3 n's" I think it was just a (poor) attempt at "spooky"

not everything is racist. I would be MORE inclined to think it was racism had the person not immediately removed the decoration when people got upset....

Looks like Mr. Vue's neighbors handled the situation better than most of the people here would.

Being in the Army had nothing to do with it ...and he wasn't a freak , he made a mistake which he rectified.

No, being an immigrant he wasn't aware of the meaning of his display to African Americans.

The Americans in here who have no clue about our history should be ashamed.

He, being a decent human being, having respect for his neighbors and fellow Americans, took it down.

His being a minority had nothing to do with it....there is no reason a sane person would think so....

I have to laugh at all the racist in here desperately screaming , "I'm not a racist, racism doesn't exist!!!" ...over and over and over and over....who are they trying to convince? ;)

Plus, he's too busy frantically typing up his next faux-raged, randomly-capitalized, racist/homophobic/anti-Conservative thread based on errant articles he found on Rawstory, Huff or Politicus.

    He didn't.
There was nothing "African-American" about it, as he clearly stated.

Except to those who equate black people to garbage bags.

Like the OP and others in this thread.

If a person hangs a black trash bag as opposed to a white one does it matter?
