it's 10 million, and EACH one will bring in 10 more, without a doubt, if that border is not fenced and manned with rifle towers. We'd be NUTS to let this get started, man. In fact, we were absolutely insane to have let in the first 100,000 of them, 60 years ago
Hm as far as I can tell most of the people we "let" in have been productive workers. Wouldnt it be smarter to streamline our immigration system and make it easier to promote responsible immigrant growth in the country? Immigrants have always been the backbone of growth and prosperity for this country. Every wave of new immigrants weather huguenots, Irish, Italian, Chinese, or what ever has in the long run benefited us as a nation. So you can build a fence and gun tower around your house. That way we will not accidentally come into your yard.
It's probably many more than 10 million, counting untold millions of people with expired visa's. It is directed at all, but Obama is assuming only 5 million will bother signing up....I don't think signing up even 1 million could be done in two years, but it's political and really doesn't matter, some Federal Department will be assigned the duty and extensions granted for decades...if something doesn't change. Interesting "60 years ago", Eisenhower "Operation Wetback" was in full gear...Google it...that's what's called enforcement.....
All that poverty is going to cause an increase in crime and gangs, and then we'll need more gun laws. Think about that. Higher taxes too to pay for all those new students.
This is exactly what comes to mind to an Italian when in the United States Americans begin to discuss about blocking immigration ... considering that nowadays about 17,000,000 of US citizens have got Italian ancestry ... I make reference to American Italians because they weren't part of the "conquest" of the New World, Italians didn't take part to the creation of the colonies and to their development, Italians were pure immigrants not colonists.
Yeah, just look at what happened to the native Americans. Their entire way of life was permanently changed. Practically got wiped out. They were used to wide swaths of open land that they could freely hunt and gather on. Compare that with today, the white middle class became accustomed to wide swath's of low cost land they could purchase houses on with spacious lots. That has already started to change in many regions that have seen a high influx of immigrants. The newer homes are packed side-by-side together like sardines with much smaller yards. If a family can afford a house at all, the space to build houses being in limited supply. The native Americans were used to the opportunities of fishing and hunting, which provided amble food to their families. Then newcomers came in and kicked them out, fenced everything off. The middle class became used to the opportunities of good wage jobs, which allowed them to buy cars and a decent place to live. Then newcomers came in and began taking those jobs, putting up with more crap from employers and working for far less. When the white men begin flooding into America, it often seemed to the natives that there was nowhere left for them to go. Same thing is happening today, in a way. There are limited job opportunities, and limited housing space in the cities where the jobs are. Someone is going to get displaced.
