http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/12/2...-damaged-at-florida-capitol-woman-in-custody/ Just another example of the Christian right thinking they own the month of December and the public square. They argue for religious displays and hate when someone puts something up that they disagree with. Free speech is about hearing things you don't like.
"The display, which shows an angel falling into flames with the message "Happy Holidays from the Satanic Temple", had been erected Monday as a satire by an atheist group to counter a nativity scene which had already been taken down. " Another example of militant atheists trying to start (*)(*)(*)(*).
Of course not. They had the right to put it up. I have the right to comment on it. She did not have the right to destroy property. What angle are you going for here Karma? Oh never mind you labeled her the "Christian Right" when all you know is she is a Christian. There are plenty of Democratic Christians out there but that doesnt fit the agenda so .....
When was the first day you realized Satan was your lord and savior? Does obama work for Satan? Did Satan grant you a wish? What did you wish for?
Real Satanists dont have families, because theyre only concerned with themselves. If a real Satanist had a baby, theyd sacrifice it to Satan, to get more power.
She broke the law, and is going to be fined/put on probation. So what? We have freedom of speech, she decided to act on hers by vandalizing property, and now she gets what she deserves. System worked this time.
woah, woah! WOAH!.........Satanists can't do what? I'm not going to even say they shouldn't do that. I'm amazed any of you righties oppose this religious freedom. What...is...goin' on!!!
Not me,, I love for the liberal horde and their satanic helpers to attack christians. It's true that Jesus isn't a god but his message seems more powerful than yours. Why do you think that is? Could it be that humans lean toward peace and the rule of law where your satanic friends like to sacrifice babies to a devil that is a creation of christianity?? How stupid to hold themselves up as the defiers of a myth by putting themselves on the bad side of the same myth??
I know a couple of self described satanists. Never been to a service with them, but they have families. One of them even has a baby. That baby is totally uneaten and unsacrificed. - - - Updated - - - Whut???? this is a pretty confused post. The sarcasm comes through fine but the rest?
Free speech is valued here, but the thing is when you are purposely trying to offend and get a reaction then that's where the rest is on you if someone does react. Atheists don't believe in a religion or god, so why would they erect a display of something they don't believe in other than to purposely ruffle peoples feathers?
both sides need to get along and accept the others displays or stop putting up religious displays period - - - Updated - - - both sides are offended when the other is trying to push their views on the people.... that is the problem, just ignore the other side if you disagree with them, let both sides share their views if we are gonna start seeing Christians vandalize atheist displays and visa versa, maybe we just need to ban all displays .
I agree, I don't really pay any mind to Christian or other displays really. I could care less because I don't need my beliefs reaffirmed by anything. BUT.... we do not live in a perfect world. And when you try to offend, as Atheists did do here, stop crying when you get the exact reaction you wanted. Atheists don't believe in god or the devil, which makes it obvious the only reason they pulled this stunt was to try and get under someones skin. Now if Atheists put up a billboard with a nicer message and a Christian still destroyed it, I would come down on the Christian. But taking something that is harmless, like the manger scene, and totally defiling it to purposely make people angry???? yeah no, I can't side with the Atheists on this one because it was their whole purpose to enrage.
Ahhh, so now we know what Satan looks like. The hate came in desecrating the scene in the first place. What the frig was the point? Sorry, I come down on the side of the religious right on this one.
Christians are trying to offend too, using the gov to push religion is offensive to many put the displays on a church lawn or something, there are plenty of those around .
Do you really believe if Christianity didn't exist satanism would? Furthermore satanism isn't even acknowledged by government as a religion. Satanism is a mere - counter-protest to Christianity - at least in this case it is. My libertarian politics dictate that what she did was wrong, however morally I completely support this woman.
You clearly know very little about Atheism if you make the claim that these Satanists were Atheists. Satanism embraces Christianity. It simply opposes it in religious convictions. Atheism is the absence of faith in -all- respects, and a refusal to believe in a higher power. Satanism is clearly not Atheism, so please adjust your assertion.
A display by atheists by definition cannot be a "religious display". Nor does such a display automatically have First Amendment protections.
If you read the article it will tell you that this particular nativity scene was erected by a satiracle atheist group. T wasn't satanists who did this. It was put their for no other reason, by atheists, to counter the nativity scene that had been erected. Simply put, it was meant to (*)(*)(*)(*) people off.
