IMO the best news so far was rendered by a Federal Judge in Texas. His preliminary finding is for the 26 states that have sued Obama that his illegal alien amnesty is against the Constitution.

Not only that he has ordered that ANY implementation be delayed.

The finding in a decision of approx 250 pages is described as well thot out and pretty much bullet proof. Im sure Obama will be riding high on this decision from the huge wad Obama will have in his shorts. This slaps him down from being the dictator he thinks he is.

Good things come to those who wait.

One should remember however that the Supreme Court told Jackson that he could not legally move the five civilized tribes to Oklahoma...

They never had the "Spanish American vote" (wtf is that, anyway? People from Spain?) anyway. Reagan/Bush granted amnesty to millions of them, and Bush got less of the Hispanic vote than any Republican since. It doesn't work. The sooner Repubs learn that, the better.

IMO, republicans need to take note that ^^^^ THIS ^^^^ is what democrats strategy is. Do anything, no matter how destructive to our society, no matter how unconstitutional, no matter how much it hurts our people, to make your opposition lose. They will absolutely sink the entire ship as long as they can claim it was the folks on the starboard side that were to blame.

The above quote is an admission that amnesty is all about buying votes, and nothing else. This, to the detriment of our country. And no one is hurt by it more than the working poor. Shameful, but par for the course.

republicans are the ones hurting this country, like right now trying to shut down the government to get what they want, they put party before country, it shameful that republicans keep holding the American people hostage to get what they want

It's an unfair fight, IMO. Progressive Democrats are socialists who hate Western culture and capitalism, and will advocate for goals that seek to destroy those things. They hate America and its history, and only love what the country could become, if they had their way. It's why Michelle Obama admitted that she had never been proud of America until her husband got elected President. They are willing to destroy the country in order to stay in power. Conservative Republicans aren't really willing to do that, as they actually like this country.

It's similar to fighting Jihadists who love death more than their enemies love life. It's an uneven playing field.

Why is it that the Koch Brothers do not agree with you?

Where was your concern for the working poor with Reagan, Bush41, McCain, et al were throwing the borders wide open? Why did they do that? Was it because the working poor were about to become the working middle class and we couldn't have any of that? Service unions getting too uppity?

This entire issue is being so misrepresented, it's comical value has been lost. We talk about closing the border, while millions every year are legally entering the Country with visa's in hand, knowing they are now here as long as they want to be. There are already laws on the books to prevent any person, not legally in the country from working anyplace, from a factory/farm hand to caring for some bodies lawn or kids. States are simply not enforcing those laws, including Texas, because the cost has become prohibitive and the Federal has other plans.

Until that one FEDERAL LAW, is enforced with State assistance, no single ruling will solve the problems. Denying funding for one program, would only slow the planned process to legalize illegal's, which in turn increases the flow of those wanting welfare and of course the Liberal's main concern...the voting block to end the social structure of the US...

My god, does Fresh Air really mean President Obama will shut down the government again. He'll close the WWII Memorial and threaten to arrest elderly veterans who visit the memorial? Will he take another busload of elderly tourist hostage?

When Democrats had the the Senate and the Administration and the government was closed they said it was the fault of the Republicans. Now that they've lost the Senate and just have the Administration for another two years it's still the fault of the Republicans according to the Democrats.

Democrats, the ones who can take credit for what they haven't done and shift the blame for what they have done. I wonder when they'll be insisting the Republicans created Obamacare, the disasters in the Middle East, and the flood of illegal aliens.

If Republicans insist on sending bills to Obama that contain provisions that have already been settled and they KNOW beforehand that no Democrat is ever going to sign, it IS the Republicans fault.

"Conservative House Republicans say they’re willing to shut down the government to prevent President Obama from carrying out what they see as unconstitutional actions on immigration."

Because we all know that spending more is much more important than a law breaking President.

"Shutting down" a small portion of DHS that would be necessary to fund an unlawful action is not "shutting down your precious government"

It's Congress doing what they are supposed to do (as hard as that is to believe) , you know, using the power of the purse to reign in a POTUS who thinks he is the sole ruler of the country.

Educate yourself on how the country was founded and what the purpose of separation of powers is for.

Whining that the dear Messiah can't have his way and blaming the elected officials who's constitutes want Obama's agenda stopped only makes you loom like a paid partisan hack.

Translation, Messiah knows what's best. American voters are too stupid to even pretend to know what's best.

You're a dyed in the wool Obama bot, advancing your dear Messiah's agenda is priority numero uno, I get it.

What the hell is the Spanish vote?

If you mean Latino then it doesn't matter, they have enough of a base to win any election if they get a high enough turnout. Much more logical to appeal to your base than a demographic.

Not necessarily. Studies have shown that the GOP position is a losing one with only newer Hispanic immigrants. 3rd generation and older Hispanic Americans don't back Democrats on this. But more recent immigrants are more likely to vote Democratic for reasons other than immigration, but they're also less likely to vote.

It's a game of margins. You'll continue to see Democrats win more recent immigrants short term, but the Democratic policies in this area is one of the main reason why they lose bigger and bigger shares of the working class whites over time. What good is the DNC gaining a few hundred thousand more net votes from the Hispanic Americans (net cotes is your party's share minus other party's share), if the GOP gains a few hundred thousand white working class voters?

This isn't the clinch issue that many people want to make it out to be. there is a limit to how much it can help the Democrats - a limit smaller than how much it can hurt them. Ultimately it's going to be a near wash. You're not going to get millions more votes in 2016 than you would have if Obama didn't do this.

Yes. I wonder what the Founders of this great country would have said if they saw Obama take so many steps on his own.

They might have said, "He has power to do that one."
They might have said, "That's no problem."
They might have said, "Hm. That's pushing it, maybe."

I'm guessing they'd say, "THIS is un-American. That man needs to be stopped. This is why we wrote the Constitution."

None of us know for sure what they'd say.

Some of us don't care what the Founders would have said. I don't trust that kind of person very far. I think they're self-destructive.

The damage to labor Obama is doing to American workers is driving more whites and more labour union voters to the republican party. He has already lost most union coal workers with his insane drive against coal. If democrats thot the election in 2014 was bad wait till they see what happens in 2016!!!!

If his executive order is not reversed, America loses.
