Some laws are intended to target minorities, or the poor.

Been there, done that. I wish there was a program where people could be taught to think critically rather than assume that because someone has a differing opinion, they must have no experience.

Life is easy for me with cops. I'm the proverbial safe-looking white guy that drives a very practical car. However, I'm around enough good people who don't look like me who also fear cops because they are stopped more often for reasons I can easily get away with, and it's always a much bigger hassle. I driver my father-in-law's car sometimes. He has a Hispanic last name. I was pulled over more often with that car (also very practical, hardly noticeable vehicle) than I have been in since I was a teenager.

Maybe...however your comment is totally irrelevant to my questions.

What are the odds that the cop decided NOT to shoot me because I was respectful and honest, rather than my race?

    Be honest.

Most poor inner-cite neighborhoods are not patrolled and harassed by police. That myth was debunked on CNN. Police 'beats' or areas of coverage are not focused on inner city neighborhoods. They are focused on the small businesses surrounding them.

That's why so many crack houses remain operational in Baltimore. They have drug units that monitor these, but they aren't big enough to shut down those types of inner city operations.

What inner city neighborhood is constantly being harassed by cops? Not Compton. Cops aren't even allowed in there...

I am curious, by what means have you seen this from the cops perspective?

Do you know the reason for the proverbial safe-looking white guy as you have explained it yourself?

How does your father-in-laws Hispanic last name have anything to do with you getting pulled over in his car?

It's easy to get along with the police, just don't #%$@ with them.

The Police don't constantly and obsessively harass the poor in minority neighborhoods.

    You are a liar.

The Federal Investigation of Ferguson did indeed find that the police were harrassing Black people in that neighborhood. That is why a number of officials were fired. But that doesn't really change a cultural system overnight and cops are known to be generally unapologetic.

I think they do this to protedt hemselves from the slow-downs public-scrutiny would impose on their operations, but it would also expose a number of their operations for some unconstitutional practices like the unofficial, but none-the-less carried out quota system.

It depends on the law, I would say. There have been some pretty heinous laws...and there still are. By law, you are required to give about a quarter of your income to the government- whether you want to or not. Some mobs call this protection money.

Besides...didn't the Colonials revolt against British law? Isn't that supposed to be American spirit- to stand up against laws that are unfair, or abussive organizations?
