Good point. I mean did you do all of your homework when you were in school? I always hated those big final projects!

Nikki Haley isn't plausible? In any case, it looks like neither Haley nor Martinez, nor any other female Republican except Fiorina is running in 2016. There'll surely be at least one woman on the VP short list though.

There are plenty of potential female candidates.

I'm not opposed to a female if she is qualified, but why do you think it's time for a female? Why isn't it simply time for a qualified person?

We don't select leaders based on gender. Gender is not a qualification. We select them based on qualifications, leadership qualities and their policy ideas.

Hillary Clinton is not a poor choice because she's a woman. She's a poor choice because she's shown over the years that she's poorly prepared to handle positions of world wide importance and she is very deceitful and dishonest.

When you base a decision on things not relative to the person's qualifications, like gender or race, you end up with the incompetence we see in our leader today.

Again, because gender is not a qualification to be president of the United States.

Neither of us ever said it was. Both Chris and I said earlier in the thread that we would never ever vote for Hillary Clinton. Woman or not.

But both of you clearly think it is time for a female president. I simply believe it's time for a qualified president regardless of gender.

I said I would like to see a female candidate that has all of the necessary qualifications. Why? Because we've never had a female POTUS and maybe she would do a good job. Also, as a female, I would like to see that barrier broken, but I wouldn't vote for a female or a male who wasn't qualified.

No, I said it would be nice.

I think this is the case on both sides of the aisle and is why we need to start looking elsewhere for qualified candidates. The two main parties have monopolized our government and divided our country for long enough!

So far, the American electorate is indicating in every public poll their preference for Hillary Clinton, and those who disagree seem far more fixated on maligning her than finding and promoting a viable alternative. If they persist in their relentless negativity, they will insure her election.

If she is to be beaten, someone must be able to beat her, and leaving that choice to Carrot Top Adelson, Turdblossom Rove, and the Kochs whilst others are distracted, throwing their tantrum and parroting the kvetching of their media entertainers, is not how that will be done.

Randy does not appear sufficiently dedicated to their personal agenda, so they will not make him the nominee.

Being hysterical about Obama did not get Willard elected, although the deluded seemed to be in denial throughout the last campaign.

There are other candidates out there. You just have to do your homework.

So tell me . . . do you trust Hillary Clinton? What is it that makes you think she would be a good president?

Cause there isn't a woman running more qualified then the male candidates.

    Being female isn't a qualification.

No, Telecat, you see, women can't be more qualified than men! Because of hormones! Men must always be in charge... that's what they're trying to say.

it appears to me that you believe the most important qualification is simply being female.

Like I said, which you seemed to ignore, is that I would have no problem with a female president if she was qualified. Simply being female is not a qualification.

    - - - Updated - - -

Some females can be far more qualified than some men, like ^^^^^^^ guy.

What are you talking about? She never ever said that it was the most important qualification. Both of us stated that we would like to see a woman POTUS, one who is qualified. Now, what is your problem with that? You have something against a woman being POTUS or something, because that is what it is beginning to sound like.

    - - - Updated - - -

Oh really? Why don't you prove this statement that there isn't a woman running more qualified THAN the male candidates?

Angry White Guys become hysterical whenever the American People decide that anyone who is not a White Guy is the most qualified to lead the nation.

Their knee-jerk reaction is to attack, demean, and delegitimize that person rather than try to build a superior case for a White Guy alternative.

I agree, and both of the major parties do this. They both use negative campaigning instead of focusing on what THEY can do for us. Also, there is still plenty of misogynists in the world, unfortunately. I see absolutely no valid reason why a woman POTUS could not be as effective for more effective than a man. There are plenty of women candidates, and some of them have some pretty good ideas. My problem with choosing a candidate is that it seems there are always one or two platforms (which always seem to be of importance to me) that I just cannot seem to agree with them upon. I have a REALLY hard time choosing a candidate. And I'm sick and tired of the same old democrat/republican arguments and negativity.

I was the only one to bring up the issue of qualifications.

I have said several times that I have no issue with a female,.... qualified female,.... as president of the U.S.
