Just 2 weeks away. I always enjoy the talk and debate regarding the NFL draft, and who should take whom. Of course, when you're a Browns fan, the draft is more important than the season is, year after dreadful year.:wall:

    it worked for the Broncos....

it helped with the bucs a few years later.

As an FSU fan, the draft has been all the talk this year with the main question, where does Jameis go... 1 or 2.

I'm not much of an NFL fan, but the prospect of Tampa taking Jameis is very intruiging to me as it would make me a Tampa Bay Bucs fan instantly. I feel Jacksonville dropped the ball when they passed on Tebow right out of the gate.... Ultimately, Jax may still be a crappy team but Tebow would have sold that place out....

worst case scenario with Tebow in Jacksonville would have been -they go 3-13 with 7 homegame sell outs...... well, they roughly had that same record without Tebow, just didn't have the sellouts. Tebow sold out a Miami Dolphins game when he started for Denver!!!111

Lets face it, between Mariotta and Winston, there is no real way to tell if you are getting a Ryan Leaf or a Peyton Manning..... Mariotta can be just as big a success or failure as Jameis..... but at least if Jameis is a flop, you will have sold out a few seasons home games while trying again later.

For my Eagles, it's about completing this team the Chipper has assembled. He's loaded our LB core and he's improved our running game. Time will tell if Bradford> Foles, but I'm willing to gamble along with him.

We're in a similar position to last year where we'd like one of the top-12 prospects to fall within our range. I'd love to get WR Jaelen Strong. A physical WR that has a solid catch radius, to add to a talented core of Matthews, Huff and a rebound year from Cooper should hopefully go a long way.

but but but... you now have Tebow.... The superbowl has already been decided in the NFC... all that's left to be determined is who gets to lose to you guys....

.... I really do want to like Tebow... but gawl damn.... ESPN makes it SOOOOO hard. He's currently listed as the 4th string qb and noone is even sure he's going to make the final roster.

Can anyone even name the 2nd string QB of Philly? But nm that, ESPN is going to have a story an hour about tebow shaped pretzels, or some other thing.

the ONLY thing I can say positive about all the news about him is at least it's not Michael Sam and the fact that Christianophobes heads are exploding right now more than my head (an FSU fan) is.

I don't mind the ribbing my Browns take, but nobody interested in the real draft, which begins a week from tonight (1st round)? A heck of a lot of rumors swirling now....possible trades, etc.

IMO, Winston is the better QB than Mariota but does TB want to deal with the maturation process of the man? I think it would take more than "Famous Jameis" to fill the TB stadium. I believe that the TB team will be headed out to another location within a few years.

The Titans will be more interesting as will the Jags. Will Tenn commit to Zach for the year and give him a chance or will they bring in Mariota who IMO, will not last in the NFL? If Cooper is available by th 3rd pick then why not get a weapon for Bortles. Blake will deliver this year with better decisions as he will be told that it's his team and the kid has shown he has guts. Give him a guy like Cooper who has shown his ability to catch balls in the toughest football conference in all the land (ala Beckham jr did) and that gives the Jags someone who will get the ball aftet Bortles needs to scramble.

The Texans will be interesting to watch as well because will Clowney actually play this year or will he have some phantom injury? If he does, and plays like he's capable, they also have Watt and added big Vince. I say go with Mallett as QB and draft to support Ryan.

And the Patriots who again lost a lot of good players, they'll probably draft some kid from bubble gum U that nobody has head of and who will go on to make 8 td receptions in a game. How does Bellichick do that?

And for the football Giants, this will probably be Coughlins final year as the team grooms Spagnuolo to be his replacement. Will Eli call it quits as well? His contract is over at the end of the year so maybe he stays on for another year to help his replacement?

The maturation is only hampered because Sporting News/ESPN is making a full court press against Winston this last two weeks.

I got banned from commenting on Sporting news facebook because ESPN ran an article about Jameis 40 time, a day later, SN ran an article about Mariota's time, and in the title, made sure to mention, it was quicker than Jameis.

Then, Winston did well on the wonderluck test, and posted a very respectable score, comparable to Drew Breeze and Peyton Manning.

A day later, SN posted Mariota, and made sure they mentioned "3 points higher than Winston"

I posted.... "ESPN Breaking: Winston takes dump in 15 minutes, wipes twice" followed by a day later... "Sporting News Breaking: Mariotta takes dump in 10 minutes, 5 minutes faster than Winston, and only has to wipe 1 time. Comparable to Andrew Luck"

Winston already has nerve damage in his throwing shoulder. He won't last beyond 2 - 3 seasons in the NFL.

    Another RG3

I don't think his attutude would have him there any more than 2-3 years anyway so why debate whether or not the body would survive.

Mariota would not be the running QB he was at Oregon so taking him is a huge risk and looking for him to be a pocket passer

I will say, even though I'm a supporter of Winston.... his "x-factor" is what made him great his 2013 season. That x-factor has disappeared. Whether it was defenses adjusted for him better, or just the team around him was not as good in 14, as it was in 13 or if the entire Erika Kinsman, aka #cleatchaser thing constantly popping up at very strategically inopportune times for Winston.

daddy was right.... never stick your penis in crazy..... and the Winston ordeal should serve notice to every future high profile athlete.....

Yea, ESPN will have to figure out a way to work Tebow in with their constant fawning over Brady and Belichick.. At least with Jeter retired, they have some room for him though.

Rumor back home has Cleveland talking with Tennessee and Washington about moving up for a shot at Mariotta. I don't like it. I do like Mariotta but there are still question marks. Why make an RGIII type trade unless it's a slam dunk? Browns have too many holes to fill to trade both 1st round picks they have this year and a possible future 1st rounder to boot. That's mortgaging the future on a "what if maybe."

Yeah the Browns have no QB, but they have the opportunity to pick up 3 immediate starters in this draft. I'd take Danny Shelton, the big nose tackle from Washington at #12, then they still have all sorts of good options with their second 1st round pick at #19. I'd then grab Devin Smith, the WR from Ohio State with their high 2nd round pick, and maybe roll the dice on Brett Hundley (QB from UCLA) in the 3rd round. If a 3rd round pick doesn't pan out, it doesn't hurt so much.

Tebow opens Sportscenter even when he's a 3rd stringer.

I still think Jacksonville has, yet again, dropped the ball on Tebow. He will absolutely sell out Jacksonville stadium....

    lol....

gaytor nation doesn't care..... Tebow walks on water for them. Nevermind, the Broncos/Tebows playoff win was only made possible because the fg kicker boomed a 55+yard fg to send it to overtime. Tebow failed to move the ball on the last drive, and the kicker bailed him out. Then a reciever in OT made a rediculous catch despite the misthrow by tebow.

All SC talked about was Tebow's playoff victory....

    SNL nailed it though

Oh I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you on the draw power. Just saying the jury is still out on Bortles. He could be a total bust himself.

My money would be that Bortles and the Jags become better than Winston and the Bucs

Any time you fly into Tampa airport and look over toward Dale Mabry, there's a dark cloud right over Raymond James stadium. That team is cursed.

Jameis Winston celebrated his first-overall selection by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with his family in Bessemer, Alabama, on Thursday night.

There was a photo shoot in front of a giant wall graphic of him in his Seminoles uniform. There was a roped-off red carpet in the driveway.

And at the conclusion of the draft, the top pick in the 2015 NFL Draft commemorated the occasion by dining on none other than a handful of crab legs.

Yes, he really ate crab legs.

    the above is from nfl.com

yes... the crab legs.... I lol'd at his photo with that. haha. It was a big ole "FU" to everyone that doesn't like him. There is no other explanation.

I'm also sure, Erika kinsman (aka #cleatchaser} also was mad at his selection. We should be hearing from here again pretty soon.

    - - - Updated - - -

There are far worse cursed teams than Tampa.... at least they have won it all (also with a former Seminole QB, a backup seminole QB at that)
