Say what you will...my units were never affected. IMR patrols required the IBAs. Couldn't leave the wire without.

Maybe that's why Bush jr. screwed everything in Iraq and Afghanistan so badly.
Or why Reagan panicked and cut and ran in Beirut and emboldened a generation of terrorists.

Bush Jr. didn't change the Rules of Engagement to put us in MORE danger. President Obama, life-time civilian, changed the Rules of Engagement to allow the ENEMY to fire at us FIRST, before we were ALLOWED to fire at them.

As we like to call, the "wait to get shot" rule.

As you can imagine...soldiers were SOOOOO happy with the civilian's decision to do this. /sarcasm

It's also the reason 78% of TOTAL casualties of the war in Afghanistan happened solely under Obama's administration.

Looks like Ft. Carson down in Colorado Springs will lose less than a thousand troops. No word yet on civilian jobs. No real surprise because Ft. Carson is a huge training base for exactly the kind of desert and mountain terrain we've been fighting in since Desert Storm, and the kind of land we'll be fighting in for many years to come. The climate and altitude of Ft. Carson are very close to what most of Afghanistan is.

My guess is that Ft. Benning and Ft. Hood will not fare nearly as well. But, that could change, especially if these idiot Democrats keep on thinking it would be a good idea to get us involved in big domestic hassles in Africa. I remember Biden mouthing off about that back shortly after Obama was elected the first time, and then we narrowly avoided getting messed up with involvement in Africa during the big hooptie "Ebola" thing last year.

Meanwhile, Russia added an entirely new military command structure just six months ago -- the Arctic Joint Strategic Command: http://www.defensenews.com/story/de...-command-navy-fleet-siberian-island/24335619/ . Put simply, Russia and China are on the upswing, and we are headed downward. With any luck, I'll be dead before the next world war breaks out -- because I doubt that we'll win it!

Well of course it's the Republicans. And not just in Congress, also the Senate, the individual States government, County government and even city City governments. Heck, even the local dog catcher(if he/she is a Republican) is to blame. Because, it can't be the Messiah, right?

    Really? That's your final answer?

From the article cited, it states the issue stemmed from a issue with transportation. And I'm also saying it's a MAJOR over-play. I guess you had to be there....

Lol mature. It's funny you called them idiots and you post this.

Are you disputing the Intelligence Officer's claim?

    The Nato ITP death reports?

The ROE also doesn't allow for immediate support if you can't pin an AP1.

Now stop acting like a baby.

and they oppose the Food Stamp program which brings in FAR more revenue than it costs - ironically much of that revenue is in Republican states who would go bankrupt if the program is ended

Oh please. We use drones to take out targets all the time. You cannot say that drones aren't taking the job of soldiers when 10 years ago we would have sent ground troops instead.

The real future threat cannot be stopped by a tank or a soldier and a rifle. The real future threat will be electronic/tech based. We saw yesterday what a glitch in the NY Stock exchange did...they had to shut it down. United airlines, another glitch another shut down. Think about the job you do. Many work at a desk, correct? Your job is intricately linked to a computer and network.

Cyber warfare is the future battlefield. An attack on America's electronic infrastructure would be economically devastating.
No bullets, no bombs...required. Technical know how is all the enemy would need to effectively grind America's economy to a stand still.

That's a rarity these days. I'd say most of us are deeply tied to the information grid. Economic transactions are dependent upon them...corrupt the grid, well our economy would stall out. Yes, there are a few like you who are independent of it, but not enough to work around it.

A group of Chinese hackers working in a basement in Beijing could do far more damage in less than an hour than a military threat other than nuclear. We'd at least see the military threat assembling, giving us time to prepare...the threat to the grid we won't see coming.

I have no idea who this "Messiah" is that you mention, but I will point out that if you do not provide the funds for the troops, they won't be there. Simple as that. 'k? Or are you one of those silly people who expect elected officials to continue to do an excellent job when you remove the funding for the government?

What utter nonsense. Bush jr. came up with the crackpot notion of preemptive war and never ending war, and if idiots like McCain or Romney had become potus we would be up to our necks in Bush's quagmires with no end in sight, hemorraging money and piling up the body bags.
But I suspect that you'd be ok with all that as long as anyone but Obama was potus.
