White male, an off duty Army captain, beaten by six black males -

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - An active member of the U.S. Army was viciously beaten by a group of six young men outside a Country Club Plaza area restaurant, and Kansas City police haven't made any arrests.

The investigation was hampered because the dining establishment, Zocaola Mexican restaurant, didn't have any working security cameras, according to Kansas City police.

The 37-year-old Army caption suffered a significant loss of blood after he suffered numerous broken bones in his face, possible optic nerve damage to one of his eyes and a skull fracture. The man's injuries were serious, according to a Kansas City police report.

The man was off duty and not in uniform when he was beaten. He was hospitalized for more than a week, but by Monday was back at Fort Leavenworth where he is getting additional treatment. The captain who is a combat veteran is stationed at Fort Leavenworth.

Sgt. Kari Thompson of the Kansas City Police Department said Friday that the injured man accidentally bumped into another man inside the restaurant, which is at 620 W. 48th St.

The man bumped tried to start a fight, and restaurant management kicked him out.

About 12:10 a.m. Sept. 19, the soldier walked out of the restaurant and the man he bumped and a gang of his buddies were waiting for him because they were "looking for a fight," according to a Kansas City Police Department report.

A witness said the suspect sucker punched the soldier. The gang then began to punch and kick the prone man.

Friends of the soldier heard the fight and tried to rush to his aid. Two of them were kicked and punched, which required paramedics to treat them at the scene. A fellow Army captain who rushed to help his friend was punched in the face with a closed fist. A second man suffered a bloody nose and mouth.

As police were called, the hoodlums jumped in a white vehicle and raced from the scene.

One of the men possibly with the primary aggressor had an open tab at the bar and had left his debit card behind. Police have that person's name, but that still hasn't led to any arrests. Police are trying to determine if the man actually knew the suspects.

"It should be noted that all the involved parties were heavily intoxicated," according to the police report.

The brutal attack has stirred outrage on social media in part because the victim and his friends are white while the attackers were young black men in their mid to late 20s.

The police report did not provide any additional details on the soldier and his friends.

ATLANTIC CITY Facebook isn't always your friend, an Atlantic City man has learned.
Ibn Hunter, 25, was arrested Monday morning after video posted on Facebook showed a woman being knocked unconscious in the city's Browns Park.
The 45-year-old homeless woman is hospitalized with a serious head injury, and Hunter is in jail on $100,000 bail.
The video shows a man standing up yelling at a woman sitting down in the citys Browns Park.
I aint gonna do what? he can be heard asking the woman. I aint gonna grab you? I aint gonna do what?
She said you aint gonna smack her dog, a woman off camera is heard yelling.
The man then looks at the camera, pulls back his right arm and smacks the woman, whose identity is not being released.
Bing! yells whoever is taking the video as the attacker makes contact.
The woman then falls backward.
"It's over!" yells the man behind the camera, laughing.
The attacker then looks right into the camera: This (expletive) got (expletive) up saying Im not gonna smack her.
The camera then pans over to the woman, who appears unconscious with a mark on her left eye. The attacker is then heard saying, So any of you (expletives) talking that stupid (*)(*)(*)(*) is getting smacked and knocked the (expletive) out like that. I aint playin.
The video was originally shared on Facebook at 1:14 p.m. Saturday, posted under the name Bdsb BroadDay. The user then shared the video to his own timeline at least a dozen more times over the hours, most recently at about 2 Monday morning.
A screenshot of the attacker's face and link to the video was seen by police on Saturday. Detective Neil Kane showed the photo to people at the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, who said the woman was in the hospital, Campbell said. It is unclear how she got there.
A warrant was then issued charging Hunter with aggravated assault.
Just before 9 a.m. Monday, Officer Brian Shapiro recognized Hunter at Kentucky and Arctic avenues, and the suspect was arrested. He has not yet been processed at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
A former city resident shared the public video on her timeline after she recognized Browns Park, and tagged a Press of Atlantic City reporter in the post.
A link and screenshot were sent to police by The Press of Atlantic City. A link to the video was also sent to tip411, police said.
Police are still investigating who took the video. Comments by the person who first posted it indicate he was at least there.
She tried to spit on him, Bdsp BroadDay wrote on one comment, adding later that Getting spit on is the most dirtiest thing ever.
Hunter whose first name also has been spelled Iben has a record leading back to cocaine possession when he was 16 years old that resulted in a suspended sentence at the Training School for Boys and probation until he turned 18, according to information released by the Atlantic County Prosecutors Office at the time.
Court records show he also has five adult convictions, involving charges related to drugs and theft.

74 year old white male robbed and murdered by three black teens while walking to bus stop -

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Police have arrested and charged three teenagers in connection to the death of a 74-year-old man.

Police found the body of Larry Eugene Brown on Greenbriar Road - just off N. Church St. - July 29. Investigators say Brown was robbed and assaulted, around 5:30 a.m., while walking to the bus stop. He suffered, what police call, "significant" blunt force trauma to his head and died from his injuries.

Police say they received a Crime Stoppers tip that led to the arrest of 17-year-old D'Angelo Matthews. He is charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Matthews, a rising junior at Page High School, was 16 at the time of the murder and turned 17 Wednesday. He spent his birthday in court as he made his first appearance, via closed-circuit television, at the Guilford County Courthouse. A judge issued Matthews a court-appointed attorney, and did not set a bond for the suspect.

His next court date is September 3.

Police also charged two juveniles, a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. Police said all three suspects are in custody.

Capt. Mike Richey, with the Greensboro Police Department, told WFMY News 2 the three teenagers were driving down the road when they decided to attack and rob Brown. Richey says the teenagers stole items of "minimum value."

Richey also said the department is investigating the group's possible connection to vandalism and petty theft in the area.

New York City police are investigating two recent crimes affecting individual Jews or Jewish institutions. On October 16, an Orthodox man in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn was assaulted in front of a Jewish school in an incident being investigated as a possible bias attack. Moshe Yehuda Feldman, 35, was hit in the back of the head in the late morning and was treated for head injuries, Police said the assailant was a Hispanic man and he fled the scene, according to the JP Updates. Two days earlier, a synagogue on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, the Stanton Street Shul, was found to be broken into and vandalized.

White couple murdered in their home by members of the UBN gang, a gang originally developed to protect black inmates from Latino gangs. The couple was murdered to prevent testimony related to a robbery at the male victims store -

A year ago, when a United Blood Nation gang member asked her if she was “ready for this Blood life,” Briana Johnson said yes.

Wednesday, the 19-year-old Concord resident – the daughter of a police officer – accepted the consequences of that decision.

Johnson pleaded guilty to murder and other charges for her role in the October 2014 killings of Doug and Debbie London. Prosecutors say the Lake Wylie, S.C., couple were gunned down in their home to keep them from testifying against three Bloods who tried to rob their mattress store.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Greene announced in court that prosecutors will not seek the death penalty against Johnson.

According to federal documents in the case, Johnson was a gang associate, known as a “Ruby,” as well as the girlfriend of Malcolm “Bloody Silent” Hartley, who’s accused of shooting the Londons. As such, she was on hand for the early planning by gang members to silence the couple.

New documents released with Johnson’s plea reveal that a month before the killings, gang member David Fudge told her that the hit on the Londons had gotten “a green light.”

Are you “ready for this Blood life?” Fudge asked Johnson, saying he might need her to drive Hartley somewhere “to bang a n*****,” an apparent reference to the Londons.

“I could do that,” Johnson replied, documents say.

She then attended a series of gang meetings to iron out final details of the plot. On Oct. 23, 2014, Johnson picked up Hartley at his Nevin Road home, then drove him a few miles to an apartment shared by fellow gang members, documents say. There, Hartley picked up a Jimenez Arms .380 pistol, wiped the bullets clean of fingerprints with a red bandana, then rode with Johnson to the Londons’ home.

After the killings, Johnson and Hartley drove back to Charlotte to get rid of the gun and celebrate the couple’s deaths with other gang members.

Under her agreement with prosecutors, Johnson pleaded guilty to two counts of murder to aid racketeering along with racketeering conspiracy. She also has promised to testify against other gang members. Johnson is the only known witness to the murder scene.

In return for Johnson’s help, prosecutors will drop two firearms charges originally filed against her and are expected to recommend a lighter sentence.

Johnson is the latest of six reputed UBN members or associates who have accepted plea deals. All have agreed to testify.

Charges remain against Hartley and five other alleged UBN members.

That includes Jamell Cureton of Charlotte, who prosecutors say ordered and planned the hit from his cell in the Mecklenburg County Jail, after he was shot by Doug London during the attempted robbery.
