Bama will figure out how to shut down your running QB thus making it easy to defend against you. Those Tide players have a chip on their shoulders this year And as always, conference pride, not just school pride will ring loud and proud SEC SEC SEC SEC
I don't think it will be easy to defend against Clemson. That's a pretty darn good football team all around.
Ohio State should have gotten in to hand Alabama's ass to them again. Clemson over Bama. Roll Tears!!!
Bama defense prefers a stationary target back there like Connor Cook of MSU. They won't like defending a mobile QB like Watson. Same reason they had trouble with OSU last year.
Pull the legs out from Wilson, you shut the Seahawks the same is with Clemson but we're talking a college kid, not a pro Saban knows what must be done and he has the depth in defense Clemson will need to beat Bama with the pass. I am not taking away anything from Clemson but Bama just showed that they are not just a running team. And blanking MSU was no easy task for Alabama and do not discount that. If the Bama players bring the same level of passion and focus to the championship game, it's going to be a long night for Clemson and their ears will ring from hearing S E C S E C S E C S E C
I believe Alabama will win but Saban is not God. I'll bet he was terrified of playing OSU again this year despite all the bluster from Bama fans because they don't like defending a mobile QB. Clemson presents SOME of those same issues for Bama's defense.
nope, he's not a God. Saban is just a good head coach and to deny that is just silly. His record speaks for itself. He's seen mobile quarterbacks and he has a large enough network as do his assistants to reach out into the NFL and other colleges and discuss what works against the likes of Russel Wilson of the Seahawks etc. Alabama has the depth and talent to prepare for Clemson. Clemson had best pray for Alabama fumbles and dropped passes.
Please, Saban wasn't "terrified" of OSU. Jesus, OSU won ONE year and their fans think Saban was worried about facing them. OSU is just lucky they got an over-rated(as usual) Notre Dame team in the Fiesta Bowl.
Haha. I think you know me by now. I'm an OSU fan but not a blind homer. I tell it like it is, and some Buckeye fans get irritated with me over it. But I also know we squashed Bama last year, in part due to having mobile QB'ing. So yes, although I'm on record here as saying OSU didn't deserve to get in this year the way they played the entire season against subpar competition, I'll also say with confidence they would have presented the same problems for Saban's Tide this year as last year. And Clemson's QB will too, although I don't think Clemson will win. Geez milo.....you didn't like my "terrified" comment? Ok, maybe too strong a word, but lets just say the field of 4 was probably just as glad they didn't have to contend with OSU.
I honestly don't think the playoff teams were worried about Ohio State at all. The best four teams made the playoffs. That's why OSU was in the Fiesta Bowl. These guys are still kids, they have a bad day now and then.
OSU would not be where they are if not for Urban. I enjoyed the Bama/OSU matchup last year knowing that whichever team won, would also win the championship. The staff and many players at Bama have been to the big stage before. They've seen it all thrown at them as teams always want to beat Bama and bring their best.
I guess we'll agree to disagree on this one. The 4 most deserving teams made it. Not the 4 best teams. Big difference.
I noticed the OSU fans are ignoring the 900 lb. gorilla in the room. Iowa and Northwestern have both flopped in their respective bowl games. The Big 10 was over-hyped this year. The SEC remains the top conference in Div. I football.
I don't put a lot of stock in the bowl games. These guys are still kids, most of them from disadvantaged backgrounds and for the elite talent, the future is not only calling, but it's in sight. It's easy to get sidetracked when you have dreams of becoming a millionaire.
Not ignoring it at all. I've been saying all year that Iowa and Michigan St, etc weren't that good. OSU clearly had the best talent in the Big 10.....not even close. Unfortunately, until the last 2 games, OSU didn't look good either, and they lost to Michigan St. That's why I've said all along the correct 4 teams were in the playoffs. No debate. I'm happy though. I bet $500 on Alabama and spotted 18 points to get the sucker to take the bet which was well beyond the spread. I knew Bama was going to crush MSU. Heck, I couldn't get milo last year to bet me straight up (him Alabama and me Ohio State) with 'Bama favored and him setting the stakes. Turns out he was smart not to bet. I'm no expert but I pick 'em right far more often than not. It's really not that hard. But like milo says....they're kids so you're always gambling they don't just lay an egg any given day.
Rebels did a good job against OK State. The west looks to be a bit more of a challenge next year for Bama
Ole Miss has better players than their record suggests. Good QB, first round wide receiver, probably the best offensive tackle in college football and a couple of first round d-lineman. Freeze is a great recruiter, but doesn't seem to do much with them...except beat 'Bama. - - - Updated - - - Yea, Bama had a day of errors, but Ole Miss is a pretty darn good team.
Such a silly, half assed opinion formulated by using two games. Michigan, a team that finished 3rd in the Big 10 East, murdered the SEC east champ. Arkansas, a team that finished 3rd in the SEC west lost to Toledo at home. Should that be my justification for saying the SEC fans are ignoring a 900 pound gorilla in a room and the BIG is the best conference?
If there was ever a coach that I thought should be investigated for recruiting violations, it's Hugh Freeze. The guy hasn't accomplished hardly anything noteworthy in his career, yet he's constantly able to somehow convince top recruits from all over the country to come play football and live in tiny little town like Oxford, who's school is nothing in terms of facilities, fan base, tradition etc.
