    I don't think it really matters how popular or unpopular they are.
    In most cases it is hard to get a new Justice confirmed in the year of any contested (non-incumbent from sitting party as candidate) Presidential election.

    I think, at this point, it is a foregone conclusion the confirmation will be delayed until 2017.

    Well there's always a Biden, 'Borking', or an Anita Hill that can be found. Wait that's a Progressive Democrat method. Hopefully McConnell will be strong enough to weather the coming fight.

    Aside from losing the best SC Justice, this might be a really good thing. Of course allowing Obama to pick the next judge is not going to happen, which means the focus on candidates will shift from pantsuits, bad hair, and geriatric spittle to who would be the best at picking Scalia's replacement.

    And that is going to mean bad things for Trump as well as Hillary, who really know nothing about the constitution, and couldn't care less even if they did.

    U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, a leading conservative voice on the high court, has died at the age of 79, a government source and a family friend told CNN on Saturday.

    Scalia died in his sleep during a visit to Texas.

    A government official said Scalia went to bed Friday night and told friends he wasn't feeling well. Saturday morning, he didn't get up for breakfast. And the group he was with for a hunting trip left without him.
