Outside of the box Muslims

Having read more than a little of recent biblical studies I'm well acquainted with updates and so called progress.
Possibly I should have written 'many Christians haven't dumped the Old Testament ? In fact I feel I should have written 'the majority of Christians'.

 

They don't dump it. But its relevance is altered by the new testament.

Matthew 5:
38"You have heard that it was said, 'AN EYE FOR AN EYE, AND A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH.' (the Old Testament) 39"But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.…(the New Testament)

43 You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy;(Old Testament)
44 But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, (new Testament)

Leviticus 20:10 - And the man that committeth adultery with [another] man's wife, [even he] that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.(Old Testament)

Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?”

4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.(*)

Romans 7
6But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

 

Im an atheist using a literal interpretation. And the Catholics who accumulated the books of the bible had it both ways. Adultery is still a sin as the old testament says. New Testament changed what is to be done about it.

 

Well, first, Jesus didn't cause them to disappear. The Jews continued to follow them after his death. And second,
23Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. 24So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. 25Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law.

And "until everything is accomplished". Isnt it prophesized somewhere in the new testament that all the jews end up converting? That would be when the Law has finally disappeared

 

They have. But they still drag in the old testament plenty of times with exodus

 

Refugees are fleeing from being blown up and shot in the first place. Its a bit simplistic to think terrorists and refugees are the same thing.

Bush and co are responsible for their own lies. There was plenty of evidence from reliable sources demonstrating that they were lying, and really they should be regarded as war criminals..

 

Correct. It's beyond comprehension that modern people would give their kids a book, "inspired by god" no less(!), that says to kill innocent people (gays) in multiple places. Truly incredible. And they consider themselves.....ethical. Wow.
Yes, if they disapproved of the OT, and had a moral backbone, they'd dump the OT like a hot potato.

Moses had 3000 innocent people slaughtered in Exodus 32.....yet people still believe in that book, incredible. Jesus approved of Moses, even met with him during the magical "transfiguration", so Jesus approved of a mass-murderer, and so did Jesus' dad, giving Moses the 10 Commandments and all....pretty sick family.

 

Moses / God got all the first born Egyptian babies massacred, so he with his Jews could march to the land of Canaan.
There them Jews didn't kill just the babies, they killed everybody to thieve their lands. I doubt thats just 3000 innocent people.


And look at Israel with it's Jews go these past decades. Hardly different than ISIS. It's all bow down to our ethnic cleansing way or else we murder you and your family and probably your neighbors too. With much help of devoted foreign Christians and Jews living in the West and it's governments. While other Muslims and other Islamic governments fight ISIS. HUGE difference.

 

Yada yada yada... the World has moved on but somehow forgot to take them Muslims with them... they still rape, pillage, chop heads, blow things up, get pissed when when their false prophet being drown, blow things up... where do I stop?
