They also voted in a Republican Senate in 2014.

Meaning they expect the Republican Senate of confirm OR DENY appointments by President Obama.

Wouldn't it just be hilarious if President Sanders is appointing 2 -3 Supreme Court Justices?

I don't back Sanders, but the look on Republican faces if they block Obama only to face a Sanders appointment would be just
too hilarious to even imagine ... in fact, if Republicans do block an Obama appointment, I might just send Bernie some money ...

Assuming the Republicans retain control of the Senate next year there is no reason they have to confirm ANY new appointees to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The size of the U.S. Supreme Court has varied in size from 5 members to 15 IIRC over the last two centuries. It's size is set by Congress anyway. Not by the constitution.
