    Who says it,s racist.?..?

I would like to see some quotes. If someone really did say that the Trumpf Wall is racist that person needs to be taken to task for that.

I am a whole lot more concerned about terrorists entering the US through the southern border than I am about anyone else from Central/South America entering the country illegally.

So far the terrorists have used the airlines to get in therefore they flew over any wall that Trumpstein. Could build.

That sounds like something only a racist would say.

Nothing wrong with that at all, if you have illegals coming in from multiple places, and you can't figure out how to keep all of them out, but you can find a solution, but it only addresses Mexicans and Central Americans, that's fine too, that's solving a part of the problem, the solution doesn't have to be universal on day 1.

Hey, I would love that! It would be really cool. I'd live in a place like that! I've been to Greece 15 times from the '60s to my last trip in 2010. Greece was best when there was almost nobody there but Ethnic Greeks and 99% where Greek Orthodox Christians, there was almost no crime and no poverty. Diversity IS NOT a strength, Diversity IS A WEAKNESS! Greece today is beset by crime and poverty and is pretty messed up now, NOW that it's filled with Albanians, Africans, Muslims, Egyptians, etc. Say what you will, call me racist for what I just typed, but it's true.

Well, let me ask you a rather different question. Think about police officers in the American South during the 1950's and 1960's battling civil rights protestors and enforcing segregation. Were the actions of those officers racist? After all, they were doing their job and enforcing the law.

In both that case and the case of the border wall it's not really a question of whether or not the law is being enforced in a racist way because the underlying law is racist. Why isn't it legal for people to immigrate to the US? Under the current immigration law it's basically impossible for ordinary people to immigrate legally unless they have immediate family members who are US citizens or permanent residents or they are high skilled workers in heavy demand by US industry. The argument that immigrants take jobs away from native born workers is simply a lie. Immigration grows the economy. Immigrants tend to be people in their prime working years, strengthening programs like Social Security and Medicare. I could go on, but basically every economic argument I've heard against immigration is complete nonsense.

As far as I can see, the one and only real reason that could be motivating a restrictive immigration policy is simple racism and xenophobia.

Remember that race is not something biological, it's purely a matter of perception and cultural markers. Most people would call me white, but when my Irish great-great-grandparents arrived in the US they were called "white negroes" and were not considered to be white. On the other hand Latinos and Arabs have often been considered to be white in the past. If there were a flood of immigration from Canada that made the nativists feel threatened then "white" would simply be redefined to exclude Canadians, just like how it's been redefined recently to exclude Lations and Arabs.

And you're right, this has been going on for a long time. Remember this famous cartoon from 1893?

The main immigrant groups that people disliked at that time were from Germany and Southern and Eastern Europe. The real irony here is that Donald Trump's grandfather immigrated from Germany in 1885. So that little guy getting off the boat? That's Trump's granddad.

Correlation does not imply causation. Just because Greece experienced an increase in poverty and crime at the same time as an increase in immigration does not mean the immigrants are responsible. I'm not real familiar with the situation in Greece, but I'm pretty sure their economic problems have much more to do with the EU trying to have its cake and eat it too than with immigrants.

I always thought things like Mexican and Muslim became races because liberal voters are too stupid to understand big words like ethnicity or non-Christian religious group...

This isn't the same thing, Keeping out illegal aliens isn't denying anyone civil rights. People OUTSIDE the USA don't have the same rights as a US citizen. The US has the right to deny entry to anyone we want to deny it to. That's not racist at all.

You just don't want that to be the reason for your PC purposes, but it is in fact true that diversity is a weakness not a strength. In a place where everyone is the same, there is less conflict and more unity, less suspicion and more cooperation. Modern PC USA likes to say diversity is a strength, when nothing really points to that being true. They just say it to put a happy face on their PC nonsense and to find justification for racist/sexist policies like affirmative action. And I'm talking about Greece before the current economic crisis.

By the way, I am a FAR LEFTIST SOCIALIST.

While such a symbol is enthusiastically supported by racists, it's a very expensive symbol.

Most illegal aliens take airlines to enter the US, and building a wall high enough to keep them out, whether it's a matter of specific religious discrimination or unspecified xenophobia, is impractical.

Meanwhile a shovel to tunnel under a multi-billion dollar wall costs > $20.

It's not, but when you twist the narrative so that liberals start comparing having a sovereign nation to bigotry you get right to the heart of emotional dimwits. They react with no real idea why. Trump has employed more immigrants probably than 99% of other businessmen and 100% of liberal politicians. But as long as you deal in emotion rather than thought you can influence a lot of stupid people.

You did not ask if a sovereign nation like the US has the authority to deny entry to any individual they wish. That is unquestionably the case. But by the same token a sovereign nation has the authority to set whatever restrictions it wishes on who may vote in their elections. For example, a nation may restrict the franchise to whites. That would also be unquestionably racist.

You asked why the Trump wall is racist. The answer is because it is an attempt to enforce a law whose intent is to prevent the entry of blacks, browns, and other groups regarded as non-white. If, "We don't want brown people coming to our country," isn't racist, what in the world would be?

I don't want any particular thing to be the reason for Greece's difficulties. The reasons are what they are and deciding what you want them to be before you try to find out what they actually are is the epitome of stupidity. It's entirely possible that immigration is a major factor. I don't know. Like I said, I'm not real familiar with the details of Greece's situation. However what you said was clearly conflating correlation with causation. You are simply jumping to a conclusion that immigration is responsible for the other problems without justification. Finding the real cause takes actual work and investigation. Like for starters it's essential to look at the hard economic and crime data to determine if the trends you're talking about are even real and significant and not just based on anecdotes.

So things are better when everyone is the same? Whether or not people are the same is entirely a matter of perception. Are Athenians and Spartans the same? A few millennia ago the answer would have been an emphatic no. How about Scots Irish, Irish, and English? Are they the same? People were dying in a conflict over those differences as recently as the 1990's. And yet when American GI's arrived in Europe in WWII, we were all Yanks. More than that, we were all Allies. Which of these differences matter and which ones don't is extremely fluid and can change completely in a very short period of time. Because when you get down to it, Homo sapiens has a very low genetic diversity compared to other species. We're all the same. These tribal differences are purely arbitrary.

Diversity is a strength because it teaches us that very fact. It teaches us that we are all the same and that we can build trust and work with anyone. People who live in closed communities ever fearful of the other, the outsider, don't know how to do that. They spend their energy fighting conflicts over meaningless distinctions instead of building something better. It is the lessons of diversity that allowed the US to come together with people from all over the world to defeat Nazi Germany: a nation predicated on the idea that sameness is a great good. You say that nothing points to diversity being a strength, but I can think of nothing that could possibly demonstrate it more powerfully than the Second World War.

The question doesn't even bear asking. When Trump first made this nonsensical proposal, he accompanied it was a clear expression of bigotry, which audiences all around the world heard loud and clear.

Besides, where is the border wall with Canada, if a border wall isn't racist?

Guess the Mexican border wall they have on their southern border is also racist?

The wall would slow the massive flood of illegal brown people to the U.S.

Thus, it is de facto racist.

To conservatives, the wall is simply a defense against the civilian invasion of people illegally entering the U.S., nothing more and nothing less. We don't care if those people crossing the border are Mexican, Brazilian, Japanese, or Norwegian.

To liberals, the law means nothing. And since the wall will primarily keep Hispanics from entering the U.S., the wall is racist.

I'm not sure when "Hispanic" ever became a race. When I was in school 40 years ago, we were taught there were only three races of man. I guess we find more races as we go along, much like we find more genders.

Anyone with common sense understands that. The authorities need to protect American youth from drugs. I have close relatives in Phoenix. It's flooded with cocaine, heroin etc...etc.... As a mater of fact someone behind the scenes have flooded the USA with heroin. It will destroy U.S youth if nothing is done about the porous Mexican border.
I believe that there are people within the U.S establishment, on both sides, who took bribes from the drug cartels to turn a blind eye. That's the only logical explanation for U.S authorities doing nothing to stop it.

You may not care if they're Mexican or Japanese or whatever - they're all dirty foreigners. Xenophobia and racism are pretty much the same thing, slightly different flavors of the same dish.

To liberals, the law is unwise, unjust, and immoral. Enforcing an immoral law is itself immoral.

o_O You were taught there are races of humans in school? Seriously? WTF? What sort of gods forsaken pocket of the Dark Ages did you grow up in? Did you have electricity and running water? It's been known for a lot longer than 40 years that notions of race have no basis in real biology. Humans are humans. You can categorize us however you please, by skin color or eye color or being left or right handed, or having detached earlobes, or whatever. It's all purely arbitrary and we're all still fundamentally the same.

Xenophobia and racism are both myths.

If you notice all these newly discovered races and genders are defined by liberals. They need the voters so they all the new victims they can invent.

To intelligent people, the wall is a right-winger's nocturnal emission.

In practical terms, it's not racist per se, but the logistics of the landscape make it nearly impossible to pull off; Mexico would never pay for it without an invasion of their country; and even if it were built, illegals would still find a way to enter the country.

In realistic terms, it will never happen.

The beautiful thing here is how eager the moronic right has latched on to this hair-brained fantasy, rather than trying to come up with workable solutions, such as tightening up on visa screening and doing away with "anchor babies" policy.

    Can you say "typical?"

    Sure you can!
