"Anyone who does not believe in evolution is either stupid, ignorant, insane or wicked." - Richard Dawkins, who calls himself and all his atheist pals "brights"

Now self-righteousness is the one thing Christians cannot claim. Any righteousness is attained only through faith in Jesus Christ. Didn't you even know that? The prevailing theme of you atheists is that you are SOOOO smart, and SOOOO scientific, and you claim that those you hate so very much are ignorant buffoons, completely hoodwinked by that "ancient" Bible.

I say again, please demonstrate how very smart you are. Not "self-righteous," smart. Wax eloquent on the statistics of polypeptide synthesis.
Tell readers what you know about the trivial synthesis achieved in the Miller-Urey experiment, and why it has since been discredited.

Show some science in support of your nihilistic contentions and your pretense of intellectual superiority. Please. This is no attack. It is a request.

I don’t care who Richard Dawkins is, he is not ME, go and talk to him about what he is saying… stop fu@cking annoying me with what someone else on the internet is saying

The Two Christians in this thread harping on about Richard Dawkins have ZERO respect for other people.

My atheism is deeply personal, a journey you will not be able to google or watch on you tube. You think you can sit in your armchair and know what is in people’s hearts and minds. You are so desperate to validate your religion; you pursue MY posts as a DESPERATE cry to validate yourselves, pathetic. You spend your hours googling and you tubing atheism, as to find a breadcrumb you can use in your validation of yourself and quest to build your self esteem and then think you know everything.

I made no claims, about being sooo smart and soooo scientific, where are my claims? I posted about death and trauma and have been attacked by two Christians filled with hate

You sir are a horrible Christian, I know and love many Christians and NONE of them are anything like you. You have no respect for someone who thinks differently to yourself.

I don’t owe you a thing… go back to your googling and you tubing for validation

Ooooo, look at Miss Pottymouth. Isn't she angry and hateful, as she denounces ME for being... .hateful. I asked you to express intelligence, and this is the best you can do? Focus on ME, instead of saying something intelligent, and useful?

There are a great many people who deserve no respect. Richard Dawkins is assuredly on that list. So too is Hillary Clinton. You're pushing it.

So because it is "deeply personal," it is therefore valid? Islamic terrorists have deeply personal feelings and beliefs. So did Adolph Hitler.
You're really digging yourself into a deeper hole with all your emotional outpouring. Incidentally, famous atheist Isaac Asimov became an atheist after he prayed to God to help him pass a science test in college. When he failed the exam, he decided to show God his anger by rejecting Him, for the rest of his ignorant life. Asimov was so ignorant that he feared flying on commercial aircraft. He was so ignorant that he rejected his family, and his son barely knew him. Asimov junior was convicted of having child pornography on his computer in San Francisco some years ago.

No, atheists do not have a good record of the things they, and you, claim.

I'm not "validating" anything. I merely challenged atheist claims. You think your strongly held opinions must be respected, and you can express them as often and as strongly as you wish. But others cannot. How petty of you. How frightened you are. Your own bitterness is clear to anyone except you.

I hope you find the truth. "The fool hath said in his heart there is no God."

Perhaps disdain drips due to your previous posts about the religious.

Mourning for someone who died, is quite different from being the one being mourned at.

What's stupid about that? Read again! Think about it.
    The statement is a fact!
What does the dead person care? He's dead, is he not?

The irony, you're the one who says death is final. What, you don't think any soul would be lingering around mourning his own death, do you?

Obviously, you're not thinking hard enough that you don't get why I say you're in a corner!

Being a fanatical atheist (like Richard Dawkins) - believing that no God exists, no afterlife too - of course, you cannot entertain any POSSIBILTY OF
    GOD or a god!

Why do you think you and Dawkins adamantly declare that death is final - like as if both of you had taken a look what's out there after death!
I know you both are not stupid people.....but you both are talking nonsense - and we know why!

Being atheists, you're forced to stick to your very narrow-minded viewpoint....you're in a corner, or in a small box. You can't take a step out that small box. Being an atheist, you cannot give an inch because to do so, would compromise your atheistic belief.

You're forced to stand your ground even though you know it's a stupid, indefensible ground! "There is nothing after death!" Cheesh.
Have you or Dawkins known someone who's been there, and confirmed it for you?

See what I mean? You can't afford to give an inch!
The moment you entertain the possibility of God, you're no longer an atheist! Capisce?

Well, what about atheists who's done deathbed conversions??
A lot of atheists didn't get any religious upbringing....yet some, eventually seek God in the moment of death.

Like I say, you don't know what goes in the mind of a dying person (religious or not) - but basing it on logic, non-religious people are most likely to turn
to God in their moment of death.

What logic would I base that on?
For one thing, don't atheist mock the religious for needing religion as a "crutch" to get them through hard times?
What greater need is there for a "crutch" than in the moment of extinction? Or, great fear?

People who linger in illness will tend to be most likely to listen to the Gospel, and will have the time to contemplate about it.
If they ask God to come to them (even just in their mind), God will come. It's not people who convert non-believers. It's God.

Oh yes I do. Pride, would be the number one thing that prevents an atheist from admitting and finally submitting to God.

And yes, I do know of people like you.....former believers. The APOSTATES!
The kind that are written in the Bible - one of the signs of end times (so many apostates).

You confuse confidence to having a superiority complex.
No, I don't feel superior.....but I know that my God is the one that's superior to all. I'm upholding Him above all.

When I say I worship the true God, it's not stated out of any feelings of superiority over you - I'm just stating a fact!
And I only wish for you and others to see that......that you may be saved.

    Ahhh yes. The angry ex-believer.
You remind me of an ex-smoker who's now zealously campaigning against cigarettes.

Angry ex-believers are angry or bitter for a reason. Reasons vary. Some have been painfully disillusioned......or some have prayed and felt their prayers were not answered......you know the Parable of the Sower?

    Matthew 13
3 Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.

18 “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.

I don't know your personal reason for turning away from God.....but I do hope you find your way back to Him someday. It's not too late.
Our God is a forgiving and loving God.

You keep saying that with some sort of "authority".....when in fact, you're just assuming that. You don't know.

So now you prove that I'm right: how you deal with your trauma will depend on how you look at it.

Like, how can you deal with an addiction if you don't even see the problem as an addiction!

You're not getting it. It's not "hiding behind" the fact that someone has died. We acknowledge the loss from this physical world.
We grieve for the same reason - we'll miss the dead person.
The only difference though is that you grieve and mourn because you believe that's the end for him. That nothing of him exists.

We're dealing now with the supernatural. There is no evidence to support your belief - whereas there are some evidence that points to the
possibility of an afterlife. An afterlife is more likely than your belief that there's none!

If the supernatural is possible - and it is highly possible - the afterlife is most likely to exist.

You're not giving any argument at all - you're simply stating a knee-jerk opinion that has no basis at all. That's laughable.

So I'll just stop reading your post from there since I'm sure the rest doesn't make any sense too.

It started out as a frank discussion, its kind of impossible to KNOW how another person truly deals with a loved one dying. I could care less how much you've seen and what opinions you've formed. We all feel the impact of losing someone.
As far as actually dying...I honestly don't know, haven't been there yet. I will be praying.

...and I realize professionals talk about clients, patients. customers ect.
The ones who make blanket statements about whole groups...that's a bit different. imo.

I don't know if you are free to show Sky
your posts on this forum or not.... but if
you are.... . you might want to show her this
    series of comments.........
because my comment was from the perspective of
the woman being interviewed in the video........
and the team who benefited from some of
    her writings and video footage.........

So my comment was from the perspective of
the operatives going into Afghanistan.... whereas
your reply...... was from the point of view of the women
    in Afghanistan.........

if Sky could see... how you automatically place yourself in
    the shoes of the victims........

she would tend to better understand your sense of duty
both to your team.... but also to the people who will be assisted
by you and your team... .wherever you happen to be sent to......

....(if any casual readers are curious what I mean by this......

Which adequately demonstrates your naivety. "blanket statements' are our bread and butter. How could they not be when large numbers of humans are seen for short periods. It's almost a practicality. A time saver, if you will.

If Americans turned to Shiva on their deathbeds you might have point. As it is, it's "narrow minded" to ignore the screamingly obvious fact that where you were born determines which deity you'll call out to in a panic. It's about seeking the platitudinous comforts of childhood ... whatever those may be.

We’ve been through all this, you’re just rehashing. I’ve given you my answers and you can twist my words to soothe yourself, it matters little to me.

As I pointed out before there are no middle ground and the odds of us agreeing is minute.

You have much anger and I hope you find peace someday

    Irrelevant!

I'm not saying that people don't call to their own gods/godesses. If you believe in Shiva, you're likely to call on Shiva!
The point still remains: fearful people call on God/gods/goddesses! Take your pick.

What about atheists who were born and raised in secular environments - who called on God in their deathbeds?
How many of them called on Shiva, I wonder?

Since the Christian God is the only God that offers SALVATION and ETERNAL LIFE.......chances are, a dying atheists
(who'd been given this Gospel), would be calling to the Christian God! That's logic!

I'm not angry. Passionate, maybe......but not angry.

I'm simply pointing out the flaws and irrationality in your argument(s) and rebuttal(s).
I'm not trying to convince you to believe......however, this is a forum. Any claims or statements we make can be questioned, contested and rebutted.

Why would a dying person turn to Shiva on his deathbed? [IMG]

Why should a dying person turn to Shiva? I suppose your decision will depend on what you hope to achieve.
What's your purpose for becoming religious?

10 Reasons Why You Should Worship Shiva
    http://www.hinduwebsite.com/buzz/ten-reasons-to-worship-Shiva.asp

From what little I understand, you'll have to be reincarnated (and reach a certain level of perfection) before you are "liberated."
How can you reach perfection if Shiva allows you to break moral codes...that you do not have to worry how you live, your lifestyle, what norms you practice. If it's normal for me to steal, and I wouldn't think twice of killing just to possess something I want....apparently, that's okay?

There is no scientifically-correct proof of a "soul" (to a court-room level of evidence) - a part of me that survives my own death, so of course not. Religions just feed on people's irrational fear of death - the "prophets" just invented the "soul" so that they could threaten you with torture if you don't suck up to them, the bastards. Time to let go of your fear, folks.

Since you brought up the subject of "court-room (sic) level of evidence,".....

Jesus was of course a complete fool, as he believed in Adam/Eve, so therefore this maniac believed the world is 6000 years old. Insane. As a Modern Secular Humanist, its obvious to me that science knows more about how the world works (it's evolution, Jesus) than Jesus understood, so of course he's not divine and didn't know "where we go when we die"....obviously. Also, even if he's real, he doesn't mind Christians looking like fools because if he cared about them he'd of course come down (sometime in the last 2000 years) and educate Christians that the world is not 2000 years old, as science clearly shows. He doesn't mind his own "children" looking like fools.

    I must beg to differ......
the Helen Wambach Ph. D. and Dr. Ian Stevenson research proves something..........
but some people would assert that what they found might perhaps prove the
existence of demons...........or perhaps less than altruistic aliens with high tech..... but most juries would tend to agree that they
have presented powerful evidence that the memories of previously deceased
individuals can be tapped into somehow.

Actually.... many of his statements indicates that Rabbi Yeshua - Jesus
was probably a near death experiencer.......(forty days of fasting can
have that effect)... at least one of his other statements indicates that he may have
even understood the concept of non-linear time.......
a lot of near death experiencers do.

That is one possible reason why he would ask for the cup to be taken away from him if possible......???

    Mat 26:39
"And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt."

The Philosophical implications of Multiverse Theory?

My understanding of Multiverse Theory is that in one time line.....
Rabbi Yeshua - Jesus would be crucified and killed with a spear.....

and in another time line..... his twin brother and Joseph of Arimathea....
and Cephas and his cousin Saul.... (not to be confused with Paul)... might
come up with a plan to sneak him away in order to try to keep him alive......
