All truth. I was watching a comedian do his shtick, and he floated the idea that people of the past were WAY smarter than people are now. His example was the building of the pyramids. He opined that our uber-smart ancestors were merely out-bred by the stupid masses causing an intelligence extinction, and that modern people are the descendants of the dumbest, but most prolific. While this guy was just a comedian doing his shtick, juxtaposing Lincoln's words above against today's liberal idea of governance seems to lend credence to the idea.
