If organized Christianity went after 'divorcees' and/or 'fornicators' they way they tend to go after those who are different sexually... I am almost certain that many more churches would quickly close down.

And I have great CERTITUDE... that Jesus Christ (as he's described by likely 99% of Christian believers), would practically HAMMER all these hypocrites and racists (haters) out here.

Really, it's no wonder that so many have left religion already. :(

That is true, Jesus always did condemn Hypocrisy and fishing for Sinners.

He who is without Sin, let him cast the first stone.

Nothing it is a flat out lie.
I don't have to. It isn't my burden to prove you wrong, it's your burden to prove your opinion right.

    I did already.

    Paraphilia isn't natural.

You realize that begs the question. Is the word of God because it's authors claim it was?

Let us suppose for a moment, that the Bible is the Word of the one True God, however, so called Christians that are Bigoted or Racist cannot be saved.

Hate of any kind against anyone is wrong.

How can I be a pot when I don't even pretend to believe in your fairy tales? I just enjoy reading them.

    And quoting them.

Meanwhile we get back to two points:
Leviticus- condemning male to male sex- along with cutting beards- associating with women who are having their periods- and eating unclean food.

Frankly I don't know of any Christian who follows all of the instructions of Leviticus-because they are clearly meant for observant jews- the only ones who may do so are Orthodox Jews.

And of course Leviticus doesn't condemn female to female sex at all.

    And neither does Romans.

Romans is Paul's sermon to Christians about what happens to those who do not follow 'God' properly- and if they don't- God will let them be homosexuals- and disobey their parents.

I do not argue that the Bible is against male to male sex- just as it is against any sex outside of marriage. Just as it is against divorce and remarriage.

Donald Trump divorcing and remarrying 3 times- is just as prohibited- and sinful- as any male couple marrying- according to the Bible.

    That just basic rationalization.

You pick what parts of the Bible to interpret 'modernly' and which parts to accept literally.

I could easily argue- and many do argue- that Paul's discussion of male homosexuality in historic context- and linguistically- is related to temple male prostitution and has nothing to do with condemning homosexuality as we consider homosexuality now.

Would you accept such a modern interpretation?

I am pretty confident you do not.

Rationalization is the key to Christian cherry picking from the Bible.

Also not a true Statement, too broad, not all Christians Cherry pick what to believe.

Also, anyone too busy looking at other People's Sins, is not of Christ, since Jesus never told anyone to hunt for Sins.

It might condemn homosexuality but it also condemns tons of other things such as children who are out of control your suppose to take them before the elders and if found to be so they are to be killed. You are supposed to stone witches. You can't eat certain foods in the OT. Slavery is condoned in it and other things. So why use it as a book of moral behavior its disgusting.

Funny thing is, Telling a Lie is considered as much a Sin as Fornication & Adultery, hating People is a Sin, lots of People hate Gay People or say "God hates Gays".

The Scriptures are quite clear on Lies & Hate.

    Matthew 5:22King James Version (KJV)

22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

    Matthew 5:44King James Version (KJV)

    44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

    King James Version

    Ephesians 4:25-32

    King James Version (KJV)

25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

Most People tell Lies, not Everyone is Gay, if being Gay is a Sin, it is not worse than Masturbation or telling a lie or fornication, they would all be Equal Sins.

    There is only one Sin that has no forgiveness;

    Mark 3:28-29King James Version (KJV)

28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation."

    Mark 3:28-30)

    31. Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

    32. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."

All other Sins being Equal, What is the Remedy ?

    Acts 3:19

    19. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

And you are completely wrong. Paul was not writing in the 21st century in modern English. If you want to understand the message the writer is presenting, then you have to read in the context of the writer. Look at the word f-a-g, if someone used it in a document 200 years ago they would have meant a torch to light the way during the night, but if a person read that same document today and applied modern English they would get a different and incorrect meaning.

You read in the context of the writer - that should be obvious to anyone who has had the minimum of education.

If you are to do it TO get saved not BECAUSE you are saved then yes it would. Certain things like sacrifices for remission of sin was fulfilled by the cross but even then it will be reistituted when Christ comes back.

You can't justify it using the Bible. The Bible and homosexuality are opposed to each other.

First off that's not entirely true. Thou shalt not kill for one. Second I'm not imposing my religion on anyone. I'm just clarify that by living a certain life you are doing it in contradiction to what the word says.

This thread is for those who already believe.

The injunction is not to Murder.

    Exodus 22:2

    2. If a thief broke into a house in the night, and was killed in the doing it, his blood was upon his own head. But if it were in the day - time that the thief was killed, he that killed him was accountable for it, unless it were in the necessary defense of his own life.

Which is of course the modern definition. Even with these definitions doesn't a sin causes hate and disgust to a perfect holy being?

That's a topic for another thread but indeed its not any of those.

But in this case it doesn't take a genius to see that abomination is a sin.

Which I have. Now its your turn.

    Not really.

Why? And what defines something as paraphilia?

    - - - Updated - - -

Your original question was whether or not the Bible claims to be inspired. It does. Your other question can be dealt with in another thread.

True. I was sticking true to the KJV. In context it means thou shalt not murder. And actually the KJV is correct in using "thou shalt not kill". It's not considered murder to kill every animal that comes your way and the Bible speaks against that.

Abomination is a word in modern English.

    No. Christ loves sinners.

If it is a topic for another thread why argue about it with me. It is fallible and it has been proven wrong.

No it doesn't take a genius it takes a demigod that pretends to be Christian to make that leap.

The truth is it isn't a sin, that was never stated once in the bible.

    You didn't.

    Yes really.

Google it. It's not the subject, you like all the other little demigods attempt to claim homosexuality and bestiality are the same thing. I'm not talking about Paraphilia if you want to start a thread.

Any clown can right a book and include in it that it is inspired by God. Prove that isn't the case with the bible

You keep believing that. I've seen various scholars disagree on this (and other things-Biblical) 'directly'.

It really does depend upon how the book is interpreted. At the very least it's 'debatable. I don't bother debating it anymore.

As long as people don't expect LGBT to stand back allow the religious to oppress them, I figure healthy debate won't be a problem.

The basic human values represented in the 10 Commandments, aren't limited exclusively to the Bible; nor is it the most comprehensively written expression of those same basic values. I would agree that they are a decent place to start, if you have nothing else to learn from.

(You will not 'murder'; in the legal sense.) That isn't exclusive to the Bible... and there is quite a list of exceptions, as to why/how someone is allowed to be 'killed' (by law). I trust 'secular' laws to make better sense of this, than what religious law would do.

I didn't say that you were per se; and I'm not directing my answers exclusively to you. I rarely do that with anyone in this forum.

In your view, according to what YOU have been indoctrinated to believe, as you have accepted what you've been taught...etc.

I know "Christians" who do not agree on MANY things... right from the Bible and are adamant in their knowledge and beliefs. Personally, I don't argue about how/why people believe that they do. Even so, I watch to see if people are intending to affect the LAWS of this land... with an eye toward preserving 'liberty' and 'justice' for ALL (not only those who are 'religious').

So, this is someone's 'church' or a 'private' place? (No. I don't think so.)

Yes, I can justify it using something much better than the bible. Facts.
You can believe whatever you want. What you can't do is force anybody else to believe it.

If you're trying to get converts to your particular backward form of religion you're fishing in the wrong pond. You made it clear your religion wants me dead. Say you don't think people like me are Christian all you want. You can jerk yourself of by how good of a person you think you are for praying for me. You aren't getting me, I'm not joining your cult.

My mission is to convince gay people that your cult wants them dead. And you do. The only reason you aren't rounding them up and Slaughtering them is because it's illegal. Sounds identical to Islam.

Just to be clear I despise your beliefs and it is the mission of every American to stomp them out as best they can. So when people call you names and treat you poorly you brought it on yourself. I have no sympathy for these businesses that are forced to close over wanting to treat people like (*)(*)(*)(*). They should be hated universally.
