There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.” I won't argue that he directly said cops are murderers, but we all know what he was referencing.

You can protest something all you want. I will either agree with you or disagree as is my right. And personally to me it's never ok to "sit out" the national anthem. It's your right to do so and to do so free of punishment. That's what I fought for, it's what I believe in. But my opinion is it makes you an asshat to disrespect the flag or the anthem.

I have no limits for any protest as long as everything being done is legal.

    Bye Felicia

I think this AH, Kaepernicck, should be able to protest anything he chooses to. But it would be nice if, while on the job, he would "try" to act like a professional. He's earning about a 15 million dollars more than he's worth, so it wouldn't kill him to try and act like an American and not embarrass his team, league, and country. What an ******* he is.

If he wants to engage in this kind of crap he should do it on his own time. He could join the other *******s in BLM riots and looting (oh, I'm sorry.. protests), for instance.

Not at all. I'm addressing the claim that he has a right to do what he did. He has a right that government cannot prevent him but the NFL certainly can just as the NBA does now with it's players. This is not a free speech first amendment issue. It's a workplace issue and an issue of public opinion. The is no freedom of speech to protect you from either.

He can go out and do it on his own all he wants, but when it comes to an NFL game and his "speech" it ain't free the NFL can tell players the SHALL stand during the anthem and will else yes be fined or suspended or banned. And there is no freedom of speech protection for that. And the question is not whether they have been enforced for these rules you are claiming, the issue is the can be and there is no constitutional protection IF it applies to their workplace or their contract with their employer.

Maybe you should understand better the issue before you attempt to get snarky else you will end up looking pretty foolish.

Some obscure article discussing police lying to defendants in order to gain evidence....hardly what you claimed  .
You've been thoroughly self debunked because your tendency to spout untruths, in your zeal to slander cops as cold blooded killers, cannot be supported
or justified. Bye bye...you are done now.

    Good point.

But, pointing out murders doesn't imply that everybody is a murderer.

His police protection isn't guilty of shooting the guy who was laying on his back with his hands in the air.

His police protection isn't guilty of shooting the guy who was following orders while sitting in his car with his girl friend, her daughter, and a busted tail light.

I fully believe our police need more support.

But, they do NOT get to claim immunity for killing people.

Hundreds of thousands of people died to keep millions of people in perpetual racial slavery. While the Civil War was fought over the issue of slavery the intent was no never end slavery.

The Revolutionary War was fought to maintain slavery in America. When the slavers won they wrote it into the law of the land. The slaver Key wrote a song boasting about terrorizing and killing indentured servants and slaves who had dared join the English in the fight to gain their freedom. Kap seems to have identified that as an issue of importance to him and so he has publicly refused to stand for a song that boasts about depriving those people of their lives and freedom.

That's the issue. He says that the country needs to do better. The critics would be happy to lynch him for being uppity. They see no need to do better and so there's conflict.

*******, Keapernick, is being oppressed by being paid thousands of times more than he'll ever be worth. If he's so unhappy here, he has enough money to leave. He might be happier in Somalia, or Congo, where he'd have lots of other *******s to whine with. 'course, he doesn't have the sacks to leave, he just wants to flap his lips, like the loser he is.

Yep, Rosa Parks could ride the bus but she couldn't sit where she wanted to sit. Would it have been great if she had never caused any trouble?

Now here's Kap, refusing to stand for a song that boasts about terrorizing and kills slaves because they wanted to be free.

In the UK where it didn't work very well anyway and they didnt' want to deal with large groups of Africans in their mist. They had no problem with it here in American where they profited off it and continue demand to cotton, tobacco and other agriculture that was based on slave labor.

The fact remains the United States didn't create slavery here, that was entirely Europeans who created a highly slave based economy that existed for almost 300 years before the United States was ever even dreamed of and it was left to the United States to extract itself from it.

If it weren't for disingenuous points you'd have none at all.

That's not what the anthem is known or remembered for so you refuse to stop flogging your sad little straw man, just like all disingenuous trolls.
    I find that pitiful.

I'm astounded by this argument that crime in poverty stricken areas somehow relieves the responsibility of the police to refrain from killing unarmed black men AND from addressing crime. Where did THAT come from???

First of all, these neighborhoods are getting inadequate policing, and they will tell you so. The fact of high crime rates in poor neighborhoods is testament to a policing problem - not an excuse for inadequate policing.

And, they would probably be pushing for more policing if it wasn't turned into an invitation to shoot their kids.

Policing fails when the relationship between the community and the police force breaks down. Weapons of war bought from the military, more rounds of ammunition, forces trained in no more than commando operations, forces with minimal civilian oversight, low pay and low training that makes policing a last employment refuge - these do not solve the problem.

Yes and the people that fought and died to oppose such injustice won the war. Are you not happy? Or does it depress you to consider that slavery was the abhorrent
practice that America ended, thereby robbing you of the joy of slandering a country that did the right thing and, along with Britain, ended slavery for much of the world? God, I would hate to be such a twisted critic who can't even be satisfied when the right things are done.

Your revisionist history is, of course, twisted too.
Somehow slavery was abolished however, robbing you of precious (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing points. How sad.

More revisionist bull (*)(*)(*)(*)! I can't say I'm surprised. Slavery was opposed by many of the framers of the constitution but at the risk of alienating the southern states
it was left up to each state to settle matters for itself leading eventually to the Civil War, itself as the issue became more and more contentious. You're welcome for the history lesson. You really needed it!

You haven't remotely demonstrated Colin Kaepernick knows a thing about the part of a song that virtually no one is aware of. All your argument amounts to baseless garbage.

    Asinine hyperbole.

LOL! Do better than what? Colin Kaepernick and his fellow NFL troglodytes live better than 95% of the people on the face of the earth. There is no slavery! Your posts are an obscene monument to intellectual impoverishment and I don't think I can recall a single poster making a bigger jackass of himself!

Once again, pointing out murders doesn't imply that everybody is a murderer.

His police protection isn't guilty of shooting the guy who was laying on his back with his hands in the air.

His police protection isn't guilty of shooting the guy who was following orders while sitting in his car with his girl friend, her daughter, and a busted tail light.

I fully believe our police need more support.

The point is that there HAVE been murders, and holding police to account for those is exactly what our legal system defines as the correct outcome.

They don't get immunity for wearing blue.

Well, as I pointed out neither the NBA nor the WNBA has proceeded as you propose - regardless of laws on their books.

Yes - this athlete has freedom of speech.

My bet is that the NFL and the NBA are less interested in denying African Americans freedom of speech than you seem to think. Can you think of any reason why that might be the case?

If he claims his kind is being oppressed and he continues to live among the oppressed, and even profit from them, then isn't he a hypocrite for staying? He's not joining the struggle with them, he's sitting down while those who are doing the struggling are doing the dirty work.

To be honest with you, I think these long term contracts with large portions of the money guaranteed often destroys a person's will to succeed. Kap no longer has it and probably never will. At least he did better than Jamarcus Russell and Todd Marinovich.
